Went for a scheduled tour. They were not prepared to receive us. In the end, we were informed they had about 45 kids ahead of us on the wait list. Even though we said we were looking for a right away placement. Waste of time. Moose Out

Don’t send your child here unless you want a school that is fun, engaging, and loves your child like family. Absolutely everyone here is so kind and friendly. They love working with kids and it overflows to every aspect of this school. They fill each day with creative and engaging activities for each age group. Sensory, art, fine/gross motor, outside play and lots of reading, singing and dancing. Also they feed kids snack and lunch. Meals are kid-friendly latin american dishes! So many fun special days - water play day each week during summer, special days for holidays, National Pineapple day, and week of the child. Also each year they host a Dia de los Muertos carnival for students and their families! Especially love that they divide infants into mobile and non-mobile so that walkers/crawlers are in different room from the little ones. Older kids do fun projects like running a postal service to collect and deliver valentines and creating art exhibits. Check their social media for other projects! Don’t worry if you as the parent don’t speak Spanish - that is never an issue with communication. And you will find you learn alongside your child! Our daughter has had an incredible experience here and we have loved watching her grow and thrive. It has been an honor to be a part of the North Central Pineapple family.

August 2021 by Mauricio R.
I would like to tell you my story so you can hopefully benefit from my experience. My son (5 years old) started attending the pineapple school when we moved from Houston in October 2020 until August 2021 when he started kindergarten at vineyard ranch elementary. The school came highly recommended by friends that lived in town and given the long waiting list we didn't doubt the recommendation. Unfortunately our experience was not pleasant. In March of 2021 I travelled with my son for 1 month to my native country of Colombia. There, we were able to enroll him in a school named Tatas. Two weeks into Tatas the principal called me for a meeting to tell me there were serious problems with my son's behavior. I was very surprised as he had been attending the pineapple school for 6 months and I had not heard any negative complaints or behavioral issues. Nevertheless I worked with the Tatas principal and my son's behavior got better the last two weeks we were in Colombia. After our return I was sent an email to rate the school and offer some feedback. I used the opportunity to tell the pineapple school how I got blindsided and I did not appreciate the lack of communication regarding my son's behavior. The school director was very defensive and stated my son was basically an angel in their classroom which I found very confusing given the concerns raised in Colombia. Fast forward to august when my son started kindergarten at the vineyard ranch elementary. Literally the second day of school they called us to inform us our son isn't listening in class and is presenting behavioral issues. SECOND DAY. Moral of the story: our experience in pineapple school showed an issue within the school that in my opinion is pretty serious: either they tolerate behavioral issues or they don't care enough to communicate them. Either way we feel we could have taken steps to work with our son and perhaps put him in therapy to understand why his experiencing these behaviors but unfortunately we were not informed of them. We will definitely take action and follow up with a child psychologist but I would highly discourage you from attending this school. Their behavior does not show they truly want to put the child first; otherwise they wouldn't hide these issues so the child can get the help they may need.

Before my husband and I even were married, we talked about how we would send our kids to The Pineapple School when we had them. I knew it would be tough to get in because an early pre-school Spanish immersion program in San Antonio is a hot commodity!Almost as soon as I found out I was pregnant with our first child, I got on the waiting list. I had a couple of back up centers that we had toured in addition to The Pineapple School lined up just in case. I went to leave the first week's tuition at the first back up place and turned right back around without leaving payment because I just knew that wasn't going to be the right place for my baby. Thankfully, a family member was able to step in as a backup AND a spot opened up at the Stone Oak location just in time. When we walked in for our first family meeting, I was overwhelmed with confidence that this was definitely the right place for our daughter. Our daughter is now 3, and we also have an infant son enrolled in the program now. They are both thriving!Friends and family are always impressed with our daughter's vocabulary, annunciation, and overall intelligence, which we know is directly attributable to the immersion program.I can't say enough about the teachers (maestras) and staff. We all (children included) have loved every single one of them. They make you feel like they are caring for their own children in how they treat your children.Thank you, Pineapple School! We are so grateful to have access to such an amazing child development program.

I was fortunate to get to send my son to The Pineapple School and I only have good things to say about the staff and curriculum. The facilities were always clean, all the teachers and staff were always smiling and were always so sweet and helpful. My son was always excited to go to The Pineapple School. One of my favorite memories was when my son was in one of the infant rooms and I could see through the window outside that his teacher was holding him and dancing. They both had big smiles on their faces. My son was very engaged and excited to learn Spanish. I was very blessed to have been able to send my son to this great daycare and would recommend to anyone.

For anyone considering this school for your children, I can offer a review and hopefully help you make a decision. My 5 star review is not only an emotional hurrah, but upon reflection, I realize that the value this school provided will be missed.*My daughter attended for 3.5 years and my son for 2 years. There is nothing more important to a parent than PEACE OF MIND (emphasis!), and this is what Pineapple gave me.*The teachers are nothing short of family for your children. There is so much love and nurturing for your child, it must be a cultural thing like another post stated, but I am thankful for it. While the school does follow the required curriculum for Pre-K, it also focuses on creativity and play. This, to me personally, was more important at this formative age. Most of the maestras have degrees in child care, and some with advanced degrees as well. These are the people raising your children when you are not. I can truly say Pineapple was our second home.*One of my goals was having them learn Spanish. This can occur better if they are exposed to it daily with conversation and day to day activities, not through tutoring alone. There are full time Spanish immersion programs near my home, but I made a commitment to drive 40 minutes round trip 2x a day for this school.*The cost of the school was reasonable to me for the service they provide, which includes nutritious snacks and meals cooked fresh daily from a fully staffed kitchen.*The school is well-maintained, and very clean. Children are also taught good hygiene habits. This matters come flu season.Every establishment will have something that you may not agree with, but my experience was that Pineapple's admin made efforts to communicate with parents, hold meetings, even impromptu, and try and resolve any concerns that may have come up. The owners are on site every day, and care about their business very much.In closing, I can say that if you are fortunate enough to get a spot, grab it! You will find a loving, caring and safe environment for your child to explore and grow! I hope this review has helped you!

My husband and I got on the waiting list while pregnant and reviewing potential day cares for our baby. We found out through our lawyer that this information (our unborn baby being on their waiting list) had been shared with my husband's ex-fiancee by the assistant director of the pineapple school. Our information was not kept private, and should a registered sex offender be given such information I imagine the pineapple school would have a very damaging law suit on their hands.

My children attended the location on Huebner for several years. We started right at the time it opened when you could still enroll your child without being on a lengthy wait list. I’ll start my review with the good: There is something different to this place compared to other daycares. I think it’s the facility but it just feels better than other places. Also, the teachers are wonderful. I’m sure I’m drawing on my own childhood experiences here but I think there is such a nurturing quality to Hispanic women when it comes to children. The teachers are very warm and passionate. As for the Spanish, children will certainly learn it here. They speak exclusively to the children in Spanish. My son spoke fluently when he left. As for the price, I didn’t think it was too unreasonable compared to other quality daycares. Now the bad: Turnover was a problem at this school. Someone in charge does things that these teachers don’t like, so they are constantly leaving. Sugarcoat it anyway you like, but after we left we went to other daycares and neither had this level of turnover. Also, like many small businesses the owner makes decisions regarding customers that would be considered disagreeable. I witnessed it twice myself and experienced it once. They have a long waiting list and if one day she decides you’re out, then you’re out. Additionally, this is not a place where they are going to exhaust themselves if your child has a behavior issue. They cater to a higher-end customer base and if your little one is “spirited” you’re probably going to get the boot pretty quick. This surprised me because one of the owners is a PNP and the other is a pediatrician. Finally, after experiencing other daycares I’m not impressed with the Pre-K education. My first son went here all the way up until Kinder. My second went to a different place for Pre-K. My second son is much further along at this point then my first was. But to be fair, that’s not why most people send their kids here. Still, my first was behind the other kids when he started kinder. All in all a very good place and I would recommend it to anyone.

We chose the Pineapple School after a horrible experience at a nearby daycare. There's not one day that goes by that I am not ecstatic and grateful that my daughter can attend the Stone Oak school. Since her first day she has been more social and full of energy. The teacher's there truly love children and it doesn't feel like a daycare facility. It genuinely feels like I'm dropping my child off with a family member, which I know all of my working mother's can appreciate! I have no worries since my daughter started at their campus in Stone Oak, I know my daughter is being taken care of and given the utmost attention that she and every child deserve. It also doesn't hurt they speak in Spanish all day to the little ones. My daughter only speaks English at home and has flourished in her Spanish in just a couple of months. Not only do the teacher's go above and beyond but so do the staff/administrator. I left my phone in my daughter's classroom one afternoon at pick up and the administrator met me near my house so I could pick it up from her! I thought that was incredibly generous. I obviously have nothing but good things to say about this school, I could go on and on. Just know if you pick this school for your little one, you will NOT be disappointed.

The owner and her daughters run both locations. Local family business and our 2 yr old loves her teachers. I can see they reciprocate the feelings.
