If I could give this company 0 stars I would . It is horribly ran . Do not pay to have your kids play any sports with this league especially if your a beginner . First you have to pay to get on a team witch is understandable but then u have to pay to watch your kids play . They stack teams so all the beginners are on one team witch gives them no chance . They don't care once they have your money . DONT do it , your better off going with ymca or just practicing with your child at the park .

If your child is a good player this is a great place. If you are looking for a place for your kid to learn, look elsewhere. They teach nothing and only focus on the top 5. Even at practice all other kids sit on the sidelines learning nothing.

Our kids had a great athletic & COVID-19 mitigation experience. We highly encourage Families to give SoA a try as we get more active and out of COVID-19 restrictions from 2020. Exposure to all ranges of athletic ability. This environment is a definite plus to stimulate a sport experience and build on social interaction. If you are looking for competitive AAU sports then pay the extra money elsewhere. Our kids have met some great Families and Youth as well. A plus is No Yelling and very concerned Trainers / Coaches who seek to develop a sense of awareness in youth playing sports. Thanks for other Military and Veteran Famiies for the recommendation to try Standard of Athletics this Summer!

Fraud, scam, and money grabber - reporting to BBB and othersWe paid $115 for 8U and they won’t give us a refund as they cannot render services we purchased (8U basketball) due to them not having a team after a coach bailed on them. They will take your money and they “might” find a team for you. If they can’t they will “credit you”. Attached are their terms and conditions and it does not describe when they are unable to render services. It does say when the player cannot participate. My son can and is ready. They are not.The Director, Marcus, said only the owner can make this decision. When I asked why can’t he contact him now he said “he might not answer”. There is no consideration for their brand or reputation based on their customer service form their directors. This organization made $699K in 2019 (IRS taxes) and the owner had 2 other businesses generating additional income. And they choose to not refund me $115? Based on their tax return this company is using our money to float and is why it keeps changing names and hiding behind “helping kids”.As a consumer I have a right to have services rendered as expected if not rectified. I’m asking for 0.01% refund of their annual income. They can’t even do that.Details:I signed up my son for an 8U summer league and < 72 hours to the first game no one contacted us. We were concerned as we have never experienced this type of disorganization. A nice lady named Danielle was quick to respond and said that that coach has been unresponsive. We were ready to move teams yet no team had room. My son was ready and able to play 8U. When they were unable to find a team they “offered” a credit < 24 hours from the first game. I now have to tell my son the won’t play and I can’t get the $115 back. My son plays other sports and I cannot commit to him having a credit. This is not the way to do business.

SOA would not refund parents who paid for the Spring season that was cancelled due to COVID. I could understand if I decided to cancel but this was a public health pandemic that forced cancellation of the spring season. I think it's unethical to give parents the option of saving the money for the following season or giving them a small portion of their money ($25 out of $115). My son will be playing for the school in the fall. We won't be coming back and I wouldn't recommend. I basically donated $90 to the organization.

Do not recommend. Extremely unorganized, one coach for three different teams, and she didn’t even show up to the last two weeks of games and practices. There was no set schedule to when games would be, and game times were not sent out until about 48 hours before games, making it difficult to make any other plans for the weekend. The referee was always late to the game, and there was only one game where a representative of SOA was actual on the premises. Not worth the money, no experience was gained for my child through this past season.
