Wow. Where do I start? Valet is $60/night. Public garage right next door is $10/night. A/C rattles in the wall when fan’s on high. Air smells musty and moldy. Started coughing immediately. The street noise from vehicles is deadening. Motors revving, exhausts rumbling, bass rattling. Don’t plan on sleeping before midnight because of the noise. Shower difficult — tub fills up with water before you can finally pull the thingy up to get the water to come out of the shower head. View from balcony of river walk is beautiful and the location is good.
Rooms: OLD rooms. Ceiling tiles and popcorn. Ancient A/C. Worked but musty. Difficult shower. Loud, noisy, so loud, from cars/stereos. Will never stay here again.
Nearby activities: Alamo, museums, Tower of the Americas, countless restaurants, bars, shops. Great architecture.
Safety: Safe for solo female middle age before 10. Lots of homeless, but not approached or talked to by them. Lots of families during daytime. Elevators are key activated.
Walkability: In the middle of everything.

We enjoyed our balcony room overlooking the Riverwalk. The room was very comfortable. Once we learned how to use the elevators, it was nice to typically be the only person on.
Check in was easy and friendly.
The location is very convenient to restaurants, and other sites, plus the convention center. It's a very walkable town.
The balcony made our stay even better.

Amazing location! Room was clean, perfect and had a balcony view. You can access the riverwalk through the back of the hotel. I was able to walk to the Dia De Los Muertos festival from the hotel with no issues and got to enjoy walking by the river. I had the wings & fries from Born and Raised they were DELICIOUS and even got them delivered to my room. Upon checking in the staff was all super helpful and friendly. Special thank you to Katayoon for helping me checkin aside the small trouble I was having and as I was departing I stopped by Cafe Cariño and all of the staff there was really nice and gave me great service. I definitely recommend staying here.

Business travelers beware. This hotel does not have desks or chairs in the rooms. When I got to my room, I thought my room was a fluke for not having a desk/chair. I went back to the front desk and asked and they said that none of the rooms have desks. Also, close to 1,000 Marriott nights in the past 10 years, and this hotel was the first time a Marriott asked for ID to get my corporate rate code when checking in. When I come back to San Antonio, I for sure will book a different Marriott.

I checked in for a conference yesterday and had requested a single bed during my reservation. However, I was assigned a double-bed room directly above the indoor pool. The noise level has been unbearable, with loud music playing until 10 p.m. and guests using the ping-pong and pool tables as early as 6 a.m. This has been one of the worst experiences I've had at a Marriott property, and my family stays exclusively with Marriott, logging over 50 nights a year as Platinum Elite members.
What’s most disappointing is how the front desk manager handled my concerns. When I brought up the reservation mistake and the noise issues, the manager simply stated, "We are fully committed to the room," and threw my room card across the counter without even offering an apology. This experience has made us seriously reconsider our Elite Bonvoy membership for next year.
If you're staying at the hotel, avoid room 1011 unless you want to wear noise-canceling earpieces while you sleep.

We were in town for the UGA vs. Texas game in Austin, Texas. We had a late flight and arrived after midnight. We were able to check in early with a mobile key, which gave us confidence that we had a room. We stopped at the front desk and learned that we booked a room with a $25 daily resort charge that you could use for food, etc. Unfortunately, we arrived at midnight and missed the day to use. We successfully used our daily charge the next day for breakfast. Unfortunately, we had an early flight out the next day before the cafe opened. The front desk offered their snack menu, which we opted to take. The prices were oddly priced (see pic), but most importantly, the items were completely overpriced (small quantity) for being in such terrible shape! The meat smelled spoiled, and the fruit? Who knows how long they were sitting in the fridge. No, we did not eat them! Mediocre review due to the staff not working with us on this resort fee and for selling us unhealthy, overpriced food without hesitation.
As for the location, we loved how close we were to the riverwalk; able to access from the hotel elevators. Unfortunately, we had a view of a building and can't comment on the view from the room.
Walkability: Very close to the riverwalk!

Pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself, the room and the service! The restaurant bar is short staffed but otherwise everything was great!

I did not have a great experience at the San Antonio Marriot Riverwalk.
First, I was there for a work conference and while I checked and made a mistake in my booking, they canceled my reservation after the first night rather than try to contact me. The policy wasn't very obvious through the conference website. This left me stranded and scrambling to find another place to stay. Thankfully, a desk agent Nicole was able to speak to a manager and was able to get me a room. I'm a Bonvoy member, too, so triple confused why no one bothered to reach out.
Second - the rooms need updating. The technology wasn't functional most the time. The television system was throwing errors constantly and when I tried to address it with the front desk, I got told the system was overwhelmed with a full house. The wifi often didn't work, so I was using cell data. You are across the street from the convention center - this is not excusable in 2024. You are going to be full a lot. Upgrade your systems.
Third. The bedding linens in the room were feather or down-based. I don't care if the American Feather and Down association thinks the pillows are okay (they said so on the inside); people are allergic. Replace these with a polyfiber or some other filling. They are more luxurious and hypo-allergenic. They were able to find some poly-fiber type pillows for me, but it took them two attempts to deliver the correct thing.
Fourth - they piped some sort of scent into the room, or they washed the linens in them. This acerbated my allergies and asthma causing bronchitis.
Fifth - the room was generally in fine repair but dated and at at the level they were charging for a night.
If you don't care about the tech in the room, the wifi, or don't have any issues with perfumes, scents, and other allergens, the staff were friendly enough and location is good. There's many nice restaurants and shopping nearby, and the Alamo is close.
Overall, I would not stay here again and will look at Hyatt or Hilton properties in the area going forward.

The location of this hotel is perfect. I enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk out and have access to the beautiful Riverwalk. The hotel was clean and the staff were kind. Earnst, an employee at the hotel went above and beyond with his assistance, help, guidance, and recommendations on activities and restaurants.
Nearby activities: Restaurant, shopping, and tourist attractions.
Walkability: The access to the Riverwalk made getting around easy.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and professional and the valet concierge gentleman named Ernerst was specially helpful. He was courteous, professional, very knowledgeable around the area and just very patient with customers.

I think this hotel is in the best location for traveling the Riverwalk. Breakfast is good, and it's a 2-minute walk to Reverwalk.
There are many restaurants nearby, and Alamo can be reached in about 5 minutes.
Although the facilities are not up-to-date, they are well maintained, and we recommend using the Convention Center next door for parking.
If this is your first time visiting San Antonio, I recommend this hotel.
It can be a little noisy at night

Center of it all. Everything is walking distance when staying in this hotel. Great views of the river walk!

Born and Raised Bar offers some fantastic chicken wings that really hit the spot! The convenience of having them delivered to the pool for just a few dollars made it even better and well worth it. I also ordered the children’s chicken and chips, which came in a surprisingly large portion—definitely more than enough for a kid. While the prices are a bit higher since it’s a hotel bar, the quality of the food justifies the cost. Overall, a great spot for a casual meal while enjoying the poolside atmosphere!
