My grandson wanted to share a great Christmas gift to a boy and a girl from the gift tree. We will do the same for years to come.

Been here a month. Really enjoyed it. My daughter wasn't in school and a rule is ur kid has to be in school so it really helped her stay in school. Didn't have a job they make u get one so now I have one. Also they let u stay longer if ur trying. Three meals a day and if u work late will save u something to eat. The staff is really nice. They provide hygine stuff and toilet paper. Have a curfew but it's a reasonable one. We are leaving because we have a place now.

They helped me in 2001 with 3 young children,I had a job,I worked, saved, they provided, food, shelter, and a place to worship "God",if you need help, they help, rules must be followed and you must take care of your responsibilities ? if you do,they will help after 90 days I was able to save enough for a home and leave............after I got independence I donated to Salvation Army a whole year to give back to the organization that helped ? ? Thank You Salvation Army @ 515 W Elmira St San Antonio Texas

They help with case management, applying for housing. They have so many resources. If you are homeless, they can help change your life for the better & at 11AM daily they give sack lunches and possibly hygiene or other items depending on availability.

I’m giving this these stars now but they are meant for when I stayed here. I stayed here in 2003. It was a very drastic change in my life but it taught me a lot. It wasn’t the easiest time in my life at all. When I stayed here the staff was very caring and decent to everyone who walked in that door. Yes, there are rules which help us along the way in life anyways. It was hard bunking with people you didn’t know, but they are people going through the same thing as you. It’s why back then we came together. It’s sad to see all of these bad reviews. People come to this place for help when their lives are not the best. It’s not easy coming to a place such as this. People who come for this help need understanding, empathy, and compassion. They deserve to be treated as such. I’m glad to see this place is still helping others out. Times are super super thought for a lot of people right now. There are so many people on these streets with nowhere safe to turn to and most of these people have mental issues that can’t get help with that bc our health care system is wack. Remember, it can always be you in this situation. Js. I was grateful for this place back in 2003.

These people will lie about about everything I asked to speak with a manger. And the front desk didn't let me speak to one. I tried to tell here them my situation and she didn't even hear it. She just was quick to send me away. These people told me that they had no more funding but took a donation from a stranger these people lie. She had me sit down and wait for someone to get me out of her face and no one ever came they not Christians at all they just follow religion.

I love how people complain about someone giving them charity, it’s just the height of ungratefulness and perhaps explains their own bad karma and destitution. They don’t care to be a volunteer or help others they are content to sit on the sidelines gripping about people taking time to help them, it’s really galling. The Salvation Army has been helping and giving to the poor for a Century and half, pretty sure they know what they’re doing. You’re always free to find other charities and perhaps even get a job. Bless your Heart. Bye Felicia. ??

I called today trying to find out how could I provide help and the receptionist who answered the phone isn’t guess friendly, interrupted me as I was specking, not only that she actually hung up in my face. Then when I called back and asked to speak with her supervisor, I never stated why i wanted to speak to her supervisor, she immediately got defensive and apologetic. So she obviously knew she was being rude.

Through their Rapid Re-housing program I was able to get off the street and into my own apartment. They help me with case management, applying for housing. They have so many resources. If you are homeless, looking for work and are serious about changing your life for the better: give them a call!Plus at 11am daily they give sack lunches and possibly hygiene or other items depending on availability.

24 yrz ago I stayed at the shelter. Now I know this isn't the page for shelter comments but u don't have a page for the shelter comments so here it goes. When I was here 24 years ago I was pregnant. I met some women who helped me and guided me through my pregnancy. They were even with for me when I went into labor. I was blessed to have been able to stay there. My kid is grown now and on her own. I now live in Washington state. I do flash back to the days when I stayed here and wonder what ever happened to the ladies that were there with me. Ladies thank you and GOD BLESS. I will never forget you. I miss u dearly. I pray and hope to God ur all safe and doing well. (SANDRA,CHRIS,and MS. VANESSA)❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
