13141 NW Military Hwy, San AntonioI've been a VCA client for 7 years now, and a regular at 5 locations between Texas, Ohio, and Illinois. Our first visit to VCA Castle Hills this morning was our best of any visit by far. Julia made scheduling an appointment quick and easy and when we showed up for the first appointment of the day Ruby greeted us with a smile. Anita and Wendy showed our dog, Memphis, the love and care you'd only get from those truly passionate about what they do, and Dr. Cho was no different. In fact, Dr. Cho was arguably one of the most knowledgeable doctors we've seen; he took the time to explain what different things could be going on with our pup, the things we can be doing at home to help, and he guided us to a treatment plan that worked best for our current situation (something I imagine is a constant balancing act for every customer). We feel so blessed to have such a great care facility nearby for our 3 dogs! A big thank you to the entire VCA Castle Hills team for the warm welcome.

4522 De Zavala Road, San AntonioI was referred to South Texas Ophthalmology by my vet in Austin to look at a mass growing on my dog’s eye. Dr. Greller was great. He was able to remove the mass on my dog’s eye the same day of my initial appointment. He spent time explaining the diagnosis and going over my options for how to proceed. He was able to ease my concerns over putting my almost 14 year old Labrador retriever under anesthesia. I knew I was leaving her in good hands! They sent me a text update right before her procedure started to let me know she was doing great and called me right as she woke up to let me know everything went successfully. I can’t thank them enough for taking such great care of my dog, Belle!

1242 Austin Hwy Suite 102, San AntonioWe joke that our Poppy girl is a frequent flier at Alamo Hills, but this month it was really true, as she gave us scare with breathing problems due to worsening Pneumonia. Dr. Campbell has cared for Poppy for years, and is exceptional. The office has regularly called to follow up on more severe situations (plural...she's a mess!), and this time the call prompted me to bring her back for an urgent re-check. We were immediately referred for specialty care, which resulted in an ICU hospitalization which likely saved her life. SO grateful for the entire kind & compassionate team at Alamo Hills Animal Hospital! Wish we were not on a first name basis...but glad I can count on the office to help with dog disaster after dog disaster. :)

He is already way more focused and follows our commands almost immediately. His distractions come way less frequently and we no longer have to worry about his play accidentally hurting anyone; including us. He is very large and heavy so we were afraid of accidents. Not anymore. He is fantastic with us and others in a controlled setting. But after a bit more of us staying on top of the homework we are positive he will be great in any situation no matter the distractions that come up. Thank you Aubry and All Dogs Unleashed for keeping our sweet boy intact but giving him the training and structure to be not just a good boy but the best boy!

I decided to begin with Margaret, and use the new knowledge to get the others in order. Tara met with us at various places to maximize each training session. She helped Margaret increase her confidence and explore more of her surroundings, in addition to some basic commands. I loved the experience and genuinely enjoyed both of them! Animal Defense League of Texas (Hospital)
11215 Iota Dr, San Antonio$25 for spay and neuter on feral cat colonies. You must bring your own trap that they will sell to you or they will not spay or neuter until you bring them in a trap. The hospital part is not on Nacogdoches, it's off of Iota. They won't tell you that so be sure and go to Iota off of Nacogdoches on Mondays and Tuesdays about 6:30 in the morning. You have to watch their videos ahead of timre also or they will not spay your animals. They should provide watching the video while you're there if you mistakenly go in without watching the videos. Their rules are draconian.

1614 Doe Park, San AntonioWe adopted this sweet girl from CareTx and are absolutely in love with her precious soul.
My advice: Be patient and trust the process. The folks at CareTx are working extremely hard to save these pups, arrange for fosters and ultimately find forever families - there are a lot of moving parts.
A huge thank you, from our little family in California, to everyone involved in the process, but especially to Peggy for being so patient with me and Murphy’s fosters for taking such good care of her in the interim.
Adopting our sweet girl was the best decision we made.

I find the “1 star” reviews comical as they’re basing the review on phone calls they’ve made, not a review of the adoption process through CareTx.

210 Tuleta Dr, San AntonioGot a beautiful crosseyed kitten named indigo from here. Staff was awesome and the adoption process was simple. The fees might be higher than ACS, but you can tell they take care of and love the animals and they do rescue from kill shelters! Love my kitten and she was a great companion for my 8 month old kitten!

Every interaction has highlighted that the staff here care about the well-being of these animals. I would definitely recommend this place for adoption or fostering an animal. If you have to surrender your animal for some reason, know that it will be loved here.
