Shout out to Abraham at Dr Heckman’s office! I was referred out to a spine specialist but ended up needing a referral for a different office. Abraham was very understanding and helpful letting me know he would ask the doctor and call me back. Within the next few hours, Abraham not only told me of the new specialist but had also already sent my information over to their office. Thank you, Abraham, for being so kind and helpful!

A local, highly respected Orthopaedic surgeon wanted to remove my meniscus 3 years ago but I was reluctant because I had not tried any conservative measures. After physical therapy, I was able to resume my hiking activities for many months until I overdid it one weekend in the pool. Dr. Heckman was highly recommended by my physical therapist. He said I was not a candidate for surgery and took care of the issue right there in his office. His staff (two Amandas, Lori and Abraham) were all very helpful. I like to keep all my original factory parts so I am very happy that I refused the first surgery and sought Dr. Heckman's professional treatment.

Dr Heckman is an amazing orthopedic surgeon his staff is so helpful, and knowledgeable. Same day appointments awesome. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Heckman is the best and has been my knee doctor for over 12 yrs. I first went to him to fix what another ortho doc. didn’t with a poorly performed meniscectomy. With appropriate imaging, he identified the problem and in a quick outpatient procedure got me up and literally, running in no time. A few years later, I had exercise induced pain in my knee and he successfully treated me non-surgically. He bought me many more years of the very active lifestyle I love. I recently sustained a ligament injury to that knee and his staff got me in to see him the day I called. Rather than rush me into surgery like some might, he prescribed physical therapy which was working until I had another impact to the knee that finished off my ACL. He did a full ACL reconstruction that week. My physical therapist who wasn’t previously familiar with Heckman was so impressed by his work, he’s now referring his patients to him. He’s immensely skilled, is confident but not cocky and takes time to explain pros and cons of different treatments. He has good staff working with him who are always professional, personable, and patient oriented. I’ve recommended him to several family and friends and will continue to do so.

Dr Heckman is a good doctor. His admins on the other hand are below par. I had issues over the 6 years I was a patient from his admins obtaining incorrect authorization from my BCBS insurance for services to charging incorrect accounts and crediting the wrong account. I was in pain and Dr. Heckman refused me service over $168.00 descrpancy that his admins created. That's when I lost respect for him as a medical doctor. I didn't take their word that I owed money when I pay after every visit. I wanted them to show me the error and they never did. I had to figure out what happened. Time to move on.

I broke my collarbone in Oct '22. I initially was going to have surgery with a different Doctor, but that changed the day of. Dr. Heckman was able to step up and accommodate me last-minute. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. He actually was the teaching surgeon to a lot Orthopedic Doctors in the Medical Center area. It was good to know he has so many years of expertise. The follow-up appointments were quick and easy and addressed all my concerns. I was pretty much back to normal in 6 weeks! Not to mention, the friendly staff, the lovely facility, and the nice location next to the Surgical Center.I'm not in a hurry to see Dr. Heckman again, but it's nice to have peace of mind that if break another bone. I'll be great hands! 10/10

Dr. Heckman did shots on my knees a few months ago. They are doing great! No more pain and my knees don't lock up. He also did my shoulder surgery in October 2022, doing great!! I highly recommend him!!

Dr Heckman is by far the best doctor. He quickly diagnosed both my shoulders with adhesive capsulitis. He treated me with injections to relieve the pain. I can finally get a good nights sleep. His staff is very friendly and professional. I highly recommend Dr Heckman. Thank you Dr. Heckman for all you do.

An excellent doctor. Dr. Heckman got me back to doing things I could not do anymore. The total knee replacement went smooth with no pain or lengthy down time. Dr. Heckman is a great surgeon.

Hes a good doctor, but unless you're a surgery patient maybe look for someone who isn't so busy. I had to wait a month for my dictation to get done. Every time I called only 1 office person seemed to care. They have caller ID, so don't continue to call because picking up their already annoyed. I also called to get medication refill, was told they would do it just have my pharmacy request it. They never responded to the pharmacy. I eventually gave up. I wasn't there for surgery. My issue wasn't as major. Again he was a really good doctor. He had answers for me and was efficient. However, I had an answer from the initial visit so I found another direction with that.

Dr. Heckman is a fantastic surgeon who in my opinion can walk on water. He took care of my knee and I cannot believe it is the same one I hobbled in on and danced out with!

I had torn my acl playing tennis and had surgery with Dr. Heckman in November of 2021. I was in and out of surgery in 45 minutes. Walking without crutches in a little over a week. I was able to back on the court at about 6 months out and by 8 months I was able to play 5 matches in 3 days and be on winning sectional team! With, by the way, no brace and a tiny scar. Could not recommend Dr. Heckman enough. I was so impressed with how quickly the recovery went and how great my knee feels.

Highly recommend Dr. Heckman. Through his superb treatment I have avoided knee replacement surgery for 4 years & no pain in knees during that time. He does an excellent job with shoulderpain too. The best knee & shoulder expert ever.

Doctor Heckman is a pro at knee injuries. He will quickly diagnose an injury based on feel. Of course, he’ll follow up with imaging to back up his call. If he can he’ll administer a pain relief injection the same day to get you back in your game. He’s also good with a quick joke as well. His office is friendly and professional. They make a great team.

Dr. Heckman is awesome. One of the best if not the best. Has taken care of my kids and also my knee. I recommend using him if ever in need of knee surgery, he has been gifted in his work and has a great personality!!! Thank you
