Went in to check out their selection of guitar pedals, and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They set me up with a guitar and amp and let me test the pedals I was interested in, making sure I had everything I needed. Atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m looking to buy a guitar or amp.

I stopped in recently and was really impressed. I knew they had a great selection of guitars but what surprised me was how welcoming and interactive they were. Usually when I walk into a place that has the “please ask for help” notes on all the guitars I get apprehensive. It typically means it’s a guitar museum and you won’t actually get to try anything. This wasn’t that way at all.The guys were accommodating and knowledgeable. They were excited to talk shop, pass around guitars they thought were good fits for me and even pull a few just for fun to let me get some different takes. You could tell they love guitars but even more so that they love sharing that love of guitars. The whole experience was refreshing. I wasn’t buying anything top shelf or over the top either. I was trading in for a mid level working guitar.Higher end shops can often be elitist or intimidating. I’ve been to more than a few. This one was far from it. I came out of their more knowledgeable and with more experience than I went in with. It was like being a kid in a candy shop, which is always dangerous for guitar players….Go check them out.

Hands down, Lark Guitars is the best guitar store in Texas. As far as guitars, amps and pedals, I have never been to a store that offers such pristine and tasteful inventory. Lark offers brand new boutique equipment from the finest manufacturers across the globe. They are able to accommodate the beginner player, to the expert player and certainly collectors looking for truly unique and stunning pieces.Clint, Albert and Michael are experts of all things music and offer first class customer service. I have personally been amazed by their 2nd to none selection of Mesa Boogie, Fender Custom Shop and PRS. They welcome in all people to the store and spend quality time with each customer answering any questions that arise. If you are in the South Texas area, a drive to Lark Guitars is a drive that any person interested in music should make. You will truly be blown away. Lark also caters to people outside of the region, as they ship not only nationally, but globally! Lark is always willing to create relationships and find the best deals for the customer. They have made a lifelong customer in myself and I am positive they can have another in you!

BRO...Lark Guitars is a top notch shop! I had been in the market for a sub $1,000 guitar, and was actually playing a great number of Gretsch electrics, but was finding nothing that really grabbed me. I went to Lark to broaden my horizons (Higher end Gretsch guitars, Fender, PRS, or whatever beauties they have that fit my tastes and budget). Now, I've owned a number of acoustics, but have actually been hesitant to dive into the electric world. With thousands of different tones, brands, styles, and then...pedals, amps, heads, pups, other mods, etc. So, I was not overly sure at exactly what I wanted. I DID have a specific tone in my head, but I thought I could just buy a pedal after I bought a guitar to make what I heard in my head come alive.Ok, so, Albert greeted me as soon as I walked in. That guy is RAD! Super chill, and just trying to help me. He was not trying sell me something or acting annoyed that I was there. He asked a couple questions about what I was looking for, and I gave him a roundabout idea. So, he handed me a jewel of a Gretsch and showed me to the freakin "candy shop" show room. I plugged in, but wasn't "feeling it," so he brought another Gretsch...NOPE...not it. BTW...Albert did not seem annoyed, he only seemed interested in helping me find my guitar. The next gem that he brought out was a John Mayer PRS "Silver Sky" in the dragon fruit color. He had me at John Mayer. I celebrate the guy's entire catalog! Seriously though...I plugged in that guitar and was pretty much sold instantly...BUT...as soon as I hit the forth setting on the pup switch selection, I thought "Welp. I'm done here." For real! I had a tone in my head for weeks, and here it was placed right in my hands by Albert. What's RAD about Albert is, he listened to my preference, assessed, and brought me a NON-Gretsch!! Which by the way was EXACTLY what I was really looking for. And, btw... the ergonomics, feel, playability, tonal spectrum, color, vibe, and all around experience of that guitar is kinda sensual.Albert is crazy good at what he does! I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Oh, and the guitar I purchased came with a gig bag, but I always spring extra $$$ for a hardshell. When I asked Albert, he didn't try to upsell to the hardshell. NO! As a matter of fact, he was like "the gig bag is pretty great bro." But, when I told him I wanted it he was like "Shoot! Ok."My experience at Lark was incredible! A lot of salespeople at music shops are freaking rude. Like they're annoyed because people are there buying expensive stuff, and asking questions about big dollar items that they are looking to purchase (Reader, you know what I'm talking about ;-) ) But, that is NOT what I got at Lark or from Albert! If I'm ever in the market for another guitar...I know who I'm reaching out too! You guessed it! Albert & Lark Guitars!!

I took an acoustic guitar for a set up and the difference the work they did was amazing. Then I started looking around and found a guitar I've been wanted for a while. They worked with me and I came home with a beauty. Theses guys are professional at every level. I highly recommend their service and their people. Both are top shelf.

Must have passed this place 100 times on way to the Guitar Shop further down never knowing it was there. It’s not Guitar Center guys! At GC, they don’t care really if customers are careless and damage the instruments. They just mark them down, or write them off. I took my Michael Greenfield in recently for a slight set up and they did it within 48 hours and didn’t charge me. That’s pretty cool. They indeed have really nice stuff and they know what they’ve got. But doesn’t mean you can’t get a good deal. You just have to know how to “play the game” and keep your exceptions reasonable.

The most experienced staff I’ve ever come across! Besides their knowledge, their willingness to help in every part of the buying process is second to none. Whenever I’m chasing a new tone quest, be it pedal, amp or guitar…. these guys deliver with a smile… such a nice retreat from the norm! Highly recommend!

My recent guitar buying experience with Lark Guitars was exceptional and unlike any before. I purchased the Nik Huber Orca ‘59 today. Clint and the rest of the team at Lark are truly dedicated to sharing their knowledge and passion for guitars without the snobbery and elitist vibe you sometimes get from other boutique guitar stores. I highly recommend you check them out. Albert, my sales consultant, was just a stellar professional. His friendliness, positive attitude and sales aptitude was outstanding and resulted in a very pleasant buying experience. I am confident in my decision to work with Lark Guitars and look forward to doing business with them again.-David C

Went in here looking for some equipment they didn't have, but it was an amazing stop because this place is just as much an art exhibit as it is a guitar shop. Owner was kind and patient as my friend and I were gawking at the guitars. World class shop

Outstanding guitar store! As an LA native who as been playing for 41 years and now moving to San Antonio, (was also a military officer so traveled the world and seen many shops!) I went looking for a new "home" guitar store. This is it! The sales people were knowledgeable, friendly, and CAN PLAY. Not your Guitar Center/ Sam Ash experience. High end and mid range guitars and amps for the serious player at any level. Their website and guitars for sale are impressive (much more online than they have room for on their walls). In full transparency, I did not negotiate any deals this time, but would rather spend my money at a quality store that knows its business and offers solid customer service. If you are only looking for a deal, learn to buy on Reverb and become an amateur luthier (like I also am) and then you can have what you want at a significant deal because you can fix it yourself (and you will most likely have to fix it... every used purchase requires some type of repairs or setup). If you don't have all those skillsets and live in the San Antonio area, highly suggest you check out Lark Guitars!!! ~WAK

I had to cancel a couple of orders due to a family emergency. I placed the orders in the evening and canceled the following morning, before anything could be shipped or anything, but was only given a partial refund. I was told it was due to a PayPal processing fee, but anyone who uses PayPal to sell anything knows those fees are refunded when an order is cancelled. Buyers beware shady business practices.
