Car smelled like smoke. The shock absorbers rattled pretty bad. This location in particular does not answer their phones either. Have been trying to get in contact for over a week via phone and email.

Don't even waste your time renting a car or working for them very toxic people. Hertz caters to "wolves of wall street" no ethics in Hertz . Now their sister company dollar literally had this sale agent try to scam a mother with a disabled child only reason why they acquired Dollar and Thrifty to take "their" cars if needed with demand. Hertz would have had a big disability lawsuit on them, Hertz has no JUSTICE pure business full corporate lifestyle. Avis is the best to rent at San Antonio airport Avis is very ethical company.Hertz likes to get discounts to corporations specifically once car gets returned slightly below full BOOM charge 9.99 a gallon. Managers are sharks in ties Hertz knows their is proverty take advantage of workers plight haze them to be aggressive or get fired horrible company. Pretty girls work there to greet men if your white your right.Hertz caters to an imperialist staff group some of their staff are Hispanic and people of color they are more toxic than radiation. Hertz expects their staff lie, and cheat a customer with a smile. Hertz LITERALLY ranks their employees like "cattle sales" on "cheating" for the company. Any employees that don't try to scam people brought out and hazed. At times Hertz has affordable prices come across as the "711" of rental cars big transaction can go on a credit score. Rentals that treat cleaning staff like below a standard showing it's true colors. Do alot of business with corporate accounts lifeless with families. Hertz treats cleaning staff horrible it's allowed in America. If this location is 24/7? Ask Hertz? Staff in San Antonio usually put little to no effort to catering to rental cars being processed at instant return at 3am what most customers value some flights leave at 5am.

I reserved a midsized SUV in February for 3/27/24. When I arrived there were no vehicles other than an electric, very small, car. So far it has ruined my trip. It was 2/3 charged when I picked it up. It took over 6 hours to get it charged. I am having to pay an Uber to pick me up from the charging station & bring me back to my hotel, instead of visiting friends & family. I also tried several times to call to try to trade it in for something else, but I get a generic voicemail. I will NEVER agree to take an electric vehicle over what I reserved & paid for again! I felt pushed into it because they had NO gas vehicles available.

I learned a valuable lesson last week. Even if you have made a reservation with hertz, that does not guarantee there will be a car waiting for you. So if you don’t mind waiting 1.5 hours for a car after you’ve paid for the rental, you’ll be fine. The lesson learned is if you pay for the booking before you pick up the car, your car most likely will be waiting for you. Second lesson, if you become a gold member, which seems to be free. You can skip the line and go straight to where you pick up the car. Your name will be on a board and can skip the headache of a line and a grouchy agent and be on your merry way! This is my recommendation. Good luck! (I might change my star rating the next time I travel, the last few experiences with car rental places has been the worst lately, including having to Uber to a location to pick up a rental only to have the agent tell me there are no cars at his location and that in a couple days they MIGHT be able to get me a car…they didn’t by the way, one more thing, customer service does nothing to help, they explain why there is nothing they can do, then send a customer survey to ask me if they helped, I had plenty of time to wait on hold while I was waiting for my car a few days ago. On their website which they tell you to go to for help has zero Information regarding cars not being there in time for your scheduled reservation. I took it upon myself to learn what I did about paying for booking upon making said reservation and the gold club to try and help out what already tends to be a long day of travel. If I can help any skip a headache I will! Again good luck!

I'm a gold member and waited over an hour to get a car. The service was incredibly slow and the line was over 30 people long.

Terrible customer service at this location. I have been a president member for years. This location is completely unorganized. Don’t expect any customer service. And to top off this terrible experience they charged me $113 for gas. I returned my car full and did not purchase the fuel package. And I am waiting on an “email response” back. I have to do all the leg work to get my money back. I won’t be back and will be disputing the charges on card. I will also let the BBB know by filing a report. It’s cost me $39 to fill the tank. How do they think I would not notice the 3 times amount they charged for gas.

- Never picked up the phone and voicemail was full after multiple days/times of calling- Charged me for fuel pre-made option when I said no at the counter. (extra $40 fee)- Car had terrible defrosting and was hard to see (this I think was more of a car defect, but be careful)- Was coaxed into paying for toll bridges when the difference in saving time was less than 10 minutes.

Short line to check in with an agent. Once checked in I was surprised to learn it would be 30 minutes until a car was ready. They didn’t have the category of car I reserved available. The keys were not in the assigned vehicle and I had to go back to the counter to get them. Then it took another 30 minutes to leave the garage because only one line was open.Car smelled like cigarettes.

I would give 0 if I could, as my return was not logged in and I was charged over $300 for a car I returned on time. When I was contacted by vehicle recovery, I gave her the data that I had returned on time and she said she'd take care of it and get the contract closed -- which resulted in the late charges. When I called about this, I was directed to file a complaint online, which I did. No one got back to me. When I called again, I was put on hold for 40 minutes only to be told the billing department was closed. When I asked for a phone number to call in the morning, I was told that I couldn't get a direct number. I asked to speak to the agents supervisor and was put on hold for another 10 minutes then told that the billing department was actually open and I would be transferred. Now, another 10 minutes later I am still on hold. This is by far the worst customer service call I have ever experienced and I will not be renting from Hertz or Thrifty again

We planned a San Antonio trip months ago. Part of this planning was renting a vehicle from Hertz, and I wish I had rented from a different place. We arrived at the airport March 4th 2024 around 4pm with time to spare. We arrived at Hertz to find several people waiting in an unorganized line. It was found that, for some reason, Hertz had no cars available. I alerted the Hertz staff I ordered a premium-class SUV. The response was, “Sorry, we upgraded someone to your vehicle.” apparently they only had one premium vehicle. We waited over two hours before getting into a vehicle that didn't fit our needs. We were directed to pay at the exit and was given a business card to call the manager to discount our rental. We are met with a Hertz employee who was a straight-up jerk he claimed his name was Jeff and was a rather large man. Not the kind of large man that takes care of himself.( Shirt untucked and very sloppy). I have a special needs daughter who had her window down and said to this Hertz employee “Hello I'm glad to be here in San Antonio. He replied “I don't care you should have went somewhere else.” I called Jeff out and he told me to take my over privileged family and leave. I decided to enjoy my vacation until we got home and warn people about this place. I have the entire incident with Jeff on recording. I will be getting ahold of corporate and showing them how horrible me and my family were treated. I tried calling the manager several times with no response. I left two voice mails.Steve Sykes

Been to so many hertz airport locations as a PC. First time got charged for returning not full even though I just refueled before coming here. Also the agent confirmed full level when returning.
