I had the experience of visiting this convention center a little while ago while in Sam Antonio for a work convention. The Henry B Convention Center is in a great location of San Antonio. It is in the downtown area along the River Walk surrounded by many hotels, places to eat, shopping and much more. It is walkable too and from many places such as the Alamo as we did every where we went while here. This Convention Center is large and can hold many events at once. It also has a few places to grab something quick to eat or drink if you don’t want to leave for very long. My favourite part of this convention center is the Grotto area that is on the River Walk level that connects to the River Walk. If you were walking along the River Walk not attending the convention centre you may not even realize that this area is part of the convention center. I always enjoy visiting San Antonio when ever I get the chance to and would definitely come back here again for a conversation.

Very nice location for events. This was our second year attending Kawacon at the convention center and it is a large area with ample parking nearby and great views.

Very nice and clean. Layout is smart and easy to understand. Friendly staff. Just needs more vendor's and lower prices.

The good: the way the Center is laid out, you don't have to run from end to end (a lot) if you are attending different sessions at a conference. It is relatively pretty, and it is accessible to a lot of downtown hotels; it is a good size for convention of 3-4 thousand people.Ok but not great: they could have more plugs and charging stations. No charging port at the tables in the ballrooms, which can be a problem for conferences where attendees have to bring their laptops and devices. Almost every conference has an app now to look at schedules, etc., and therefore you have to be on your device during the conference, so you need to charge. The River level rooms are somewhat far from the main ballrooms. The bad and the ugly: The manner in which meal and drink arrangements was handled was stingy and verged on disrespectful. Coffee was yanked away, or we were told "it was closed" sharply on the hour at the end of "breakfast" sessions. Break times were often devoid of coffee. Coffee cups were 8 ounces, smaller than I have seen at almost every other conference. You can't make people sit through session after session in a darkened room without coffee. I'm not the only person attending who observed and was disgruntled. The staff also policed the food lines in a similar manner. Staff at the convention did not seem very knowledgeable about where things were located.
