A solid average grocery store, with a broader range of pricing per product sector than the other HEBs in the area. Above average people watching opportunities relative to other stores nearby as well. What really lifts this HEB above the local competition is their Sushiya Asian Deli, which consistently serves the most tender and savory sushi and nigiri that I’ve enjoyed. Almost at the level of a traditional Japanese restaurant, and certainly well above that of other quick-serve restaurants or Sushiya’s. (Albeit Yippon is next door with sushi, nigiri, and sashimi that is among the best in South Texas). With that quality & convenience and at a price at or under $10 it can’t be beaten, and might just be your very best lunch option when you’re in the area. And when you try it you’ll be hooked, you’ll taste the care and consideration of the chef!

As a grocery store nothing compares but as a place to work- this location is one of the worst!
After months of convincing him, my son finally left last week due to the lack of professionalism his “leaders” showed day in and day out.
Here’s what I gathered from what he shared:
- Management has obvious favorites.
- They gossip about/with their subordinates.
- They stand in the way of promotional opportunities if you aren’t a favorite
- They are rude to their subordinates
Also if you want to work there and you aren’t in management or on their list of “favorites” then have multiple income streams lined up because you’re going to have few hours and small paychecks.
Corporate should start asking their front end employees for feedback about management there and do some leadership development training. They may learn that their long time managers are creating a toxic work environment.

I was here for the last 15 minutes straight out of work, I wanted to get some balloons in the last 8 minutes, I seen a group of 3 cashiers at one station, so I asked for assistance getting balloons, Devan was more than willing to help me or atleast try,.. Torie (might have been named mallorie, the only person with a black shirt tonight 4/4) stopped him and let me know , theres nobody in that station that could help me for that night, im just hoping a time for the balloons could be posted next time, I was in a decision between Walmart or HEB for balloons and flowers & this just didn’t feel good , I hope we can work on making the times accurate because now a birthday girl has less balloons and less magic on her day just doesn’t seem right. I feel like I made the wrong decision coming here instead of Walmart, simply because of the manager’s willingness to help. DEVAN/DEVIN was definitely a star tonight for attempting to help.

The homelessness problem is out of control at this store.
I've seen security taser someone near the bathroom in side the store.
I ve seen security and the poor kids working at this store yelled harassed at by the homeless.

MEASLES OUTBREAK!!! Just begun, along with all the homeless people on Austin highway, and other sick children... Jeff Fleckinger decides to remove the sanitary wipes for the shopping carts from the entryways of the store... All to save a penny and put our health in danger... Not to mention this is a store that sells food... That is just plain Gross!

Why are a dozen XL eggs 9.02 ? Items in general are more expensive on curbside too, compared to in store prices. Absolutely absurd.

Cashier Amaya was extremely slow and talked too much to the guys in front of me and my wife and stopped what she was doing and talked to her coworker.

Always clean, with large spacious isles. Security officers visible. Clean parking lot. Countless check out lanes maned by staff. Lanes move fairly quickly.

This store has caused me great personal problems with the "mistaken identity" issue I experienced several months ago when I was asked to leave the store by manager and 2 other employees. Implied I was shoplifting but WRONG. It wasn't me previously as they said. Someone who looks like me is being an evil "twin". Contacted Corporate and complained. Allowed me back into the store and apologized but "my local HEB" that I loved has now caused me uneasiness as I shop for groceries since I feel eyes upon me always. Terrible experience with HEB.
