I wish they would open the swimming pool. Water workouts are healthy.

This gym has no regard for the safety of their clients. I have been a member going on six years and have been dealing with harassment from members there. They walked up to me mid set just to start problems. They walked harassment has gotten so bad that they follow me to my job and have tracked me down on social media just to do the same. I’m canceling my membership due to the fact that I was approached by these members while leaving work yesterday. 6 on 1 they crowed me in an attempt to fight, while also bringing up guns and making remarks about shootings. I have made multiple complaints and have been told as long as they aren’t doing it in the gym there’s nothing that can be done which is ridiculous since one of the first instances I had with them was having them walking up to me during my workout just to start problems. I will be expecting reimbursement for the months lost due to this situation. I will take further legal action if necessary. I have a police report on this already and will also be looking to get there names and information to take further action. As I told the assistant manager in the beginning of all of this, that I feel it is an A-typical situation, however considering everything that has happened I honestly feel Gold’s Gum has failed on their part to make it a safe and comfortable environment.

Had to cut the workout short and exit. There was at least 1 bat flying through the gym. A pest or animal-free gym is all I’m asking for.

Golds Gym Goliad just gets progressively worse over time. Management will tell you over and over things are changing or going to get better and they never do. For 15 years I’ve been coming to this gym and the entire time my membership fee has been the same or gone up while consistently loosing benefits. The kids club and the pool are not open or in use. They’ve shut down the sauna. All the equipment is old or hand me downs from other Golds gyms in the city from nicer areas. It’s like they refuse to upgrade anything in this gym on the “brown” side of town but will continue and put money and effort into other locations in “nicer” areas. They have scales that don’t work and the head PT will give you a hard time when you ask to use the only one that works in the gym. She will also make a scene and chase you down to scan your barcode when she sees you every single day as if your membership will magically cancel and like you haven’t paid your membership on time for 15 years straight. Very EXTRA and embarrassing. (This happened as I was walking in to put my things down in the studio because my hands were full and there was a line at the desk… then I was going back to immediately scan.)The head PT speaks for the standard that Golds gym has lowered itself to after almost 2 decades. She’s been rude since she’s started with the company and takes her job entirely too seriously and refuses to acknowledge that members have been here a decade and a half longer than she’s worked here and usually will be here long after she’s gone seeing as the turn over rate is so high in this gym. Theres hardly ever the same staff faces for long. Doesn’t surprise me. In general Golds Gym Goliad doesn’t care about its members. It never has and it never will. No matter who buys, who owns or who manages it, it will always be ran off of empty promises and minimal effort.

Employees here are uninformed on company policies and will give you the wrong information. I was given two completely different answers when I tried to cancel my membership and am now being told I will be charged longer than I was originally told.
Equipment is also falling apart and AC almost never works.

I've been coming to this gym since 2009; it's way overpriced now for what you get. You got rid of the sauna—COVID is over; bring it back. You got rid of the pool; you got rid of the kids' club. The gym looks exactly the same as when I first signed up. The restrooms are always dirty or broken. Paper towels are out half the time; there's no soap to wash hands most of the time. The scale has been broken for so long. This gym is just old and outdated. Charge so much money for an outdated gym. I really wish you all would take pride in this gym.
I'm going to take my business to TruFit; it's half the price, cleaner, and has a kids' club.
