Today on mother's day we stopped for drinks at the E-Z Stop convenience store at 4015 S. Loop-1604 W. San Antonio. Kevin was the cashier. I bought a Gatorade, bigred glass bottle 12oz, big pineapple 20oz, and a mini bottle big red that is also 12oz. I payed for my items that came to a total of $7.97 as he was closing the money drawer he replied with an upset tone "sorry I have no pennies" I replied "it's ok" then ask him for a receipt because I always collect them for my budget purposes. That's when he really had an attitude but said nothing I thought to my self why do cashiers always get upset just cause I asked for the receipt as if it was to much trouble to hit "1" button. I said thank you. Moved aside with my purchases for the next person in line also to put my receipt in my wallet. I grabbed the plastic bag through one handle and it felt secure as I was walking to the door the handle on the plastic bag broke and fell on the tile floor. We'll need to say the big red glass bottle broke (it was so embarrassing) I turned around and everyone was looking at me I said I am so so sorry. The cashier (Kevin) was just shaking his head with the look of "are you kidding me"!!! So I took out the other drinks first and noticed a few shards of glass came out of the bag but of course the liquid did spill onto the floor a bit so I collected the few pieces of glass and put them back in the bag and took it to the employee that was coming out from the back and told him I'm so so sorry what happened and tried to hand him the bag but he went to grab the mop instead and as the liquid was still spilling out of the bag I was waiting for someone to take the bag from me to through it away but no one did so I just tossed the bag away in the trash behind the counter. Then asked the employee my I get another glass bottle big red. He replied "ask him" pointing to the Kevin behind the counter. I didn't want to be rude while he was busy helping someone else. When he was done with the other customer I asked him "Sir may I please have another drink to replace that one". With a snide tone he said "Sorry No!!! you paid for it you broke itâ€. I thought how rude. Really!!! Wow....so I just paid for another glass bottle of big red....as I kept thinking how did that happen??? I knew I was careful to what I was doing and it felt secure while holding it. (still feeling bad about the whole situation). As I was paying for another drink I politely told Kevin " Really to tell you the truth if the handle didn't break I wouldn't have to buy another one. (faulty store product)(grr...) Knowing my hand through the handle. While my other hand was still trying to put my wallet in my back pocket. So of course no other comment was made about the whole situation. The other drink I purchased was $1.39 and I told Kevin to keep the change figuring he did have it anyways as I heard him before tell another customer he didn't have change also, but I did ask for a receipt for this drink also and once again with the same attitude. So I said thank you sir and no of course no reply this time. Honestly as a loyal customer for e-z stop convenience store this will be the last time I do any more business with e-z stop convenience stores. Thank you for your time.
