My friend & I celebrated my birthday this morning at Calaveras Lake with my dear friend & guide (Off the Hook❤️Capt Bryan Cantu). We love fishing at Calaveras Lake. We always catch fish (Reds & Catfish). The only thing I don’t care for at the cleaning tables are the Turkey Vultures.

Braunig ,Calaveras Lakes & their nearby parks owned by CPS Energy, located about 20 miles south of town(San Antonio,Texas) Offers variety of outdoor recreation opportunities, including fishing, boating, hiking, camping, bike riding & etc . lots of bank fishing ,w/few boat ramps & a small storefront . Nice quiet camping/fishing spot behind the dam ,mainly known for redfish & catfish …
Best of all spectacular view ??

$10 for each person in the vehicle, to park. For what? This is fresh water and the fish you can catch here don't mate in fresh water. So basically, you are paying to go to a mini lake that has zero fish unless the park that makes all this money and grant money from our taxes, decides to drop fish in. Not a single fish was caught for the five hours we were there. And I mean ZERO FISH, from all the people. Stinks! And CPS has their stacks off the shore where they pollute into the water. I guess we are lucky to have caught nothing!
Playground: No playground.
Toilets: Anyone can come in and see everything!!!!! Take a buddy inside.

Expensive, $10 per adult, $8 per child. 4 adults and 2 kids over $54. And we have no luck on fishing either. Probably first and last time. I will use that money to fish in HEB haha

Have always enjoyed fishing here but seemed to have a lot of trash everywhere this time?

$20 for my wife and I. I just wanted to look around and the gate trolls aren’t having it.
Asked a few questions and couldn’t get any straight answers.
Covered spots require an additional reservation on top of the steep cost.
Park was dirty during my visit. Trash was everywhere. Major buzzard problem at the cleaning station. Probably 50 birds or more just sitting there.
Picnic area: Dirty and no shade

I have been fishing this lake for 20 years. Prices are going up again. And the cleaning tables are flat out disgusting. 100 buzzards around the cleaning station at all times. Crapping on the cleaning tables. Buzzard droppings and mud freaking everywhere. Time for them to put a cage around the cleaning station
