I have been coming to this clinic for about 3 years. I always have positive experiences with them, they are very helpful, kind, and thorough. I really like that they check you out in the exam room so you’re not moving around a bunch and this helps my cat stay more calm. They also helped get my cat some medicine I can give her before her appointment so she’s not as nervous and this helps a ton. I am so grateful to have found this clinic and highly recommend them to everyone!

I’ve been going to this vet office for years and I Love Dr. Strickland. I’ve spent lots of money caring for my pets there and feel the doctors there have all been fantastic.
However, I will not return for their services. The receptionists at the counter lack communication skills and compassion. They cancelled an appointment for the sick neighborhood cat and didn’t inform me that he needed to be transferred to my account because he was in my other neighbor’s account. We both have taken care of him and he refuses to be an indoor cat (I’ve tried).
When I showed up to the appointment I made, the receptionist told me my appointment was cancelled after I had taken off work and tried to wrangle this sick cat into my car. She didn’t even try to fit me in or reschedule.
This poor outdoor kitty was stressed and sick which could have been alleviated if they had communicated their policy with me when I called originally. There was no compassion or accommodation.
I am very disappointed I did not receive the level of care I am accustomed to at this vet office. My pets are so important to me, it’s a shame they don’t feel the same.

We arrived a few minutes before they closed because our dog was seizing. They brought her right in and started treating her. In the end, we had to make a difficult decision. The staff was thoughtful and displayed a very level of empathy. I'm so glad we stopped here.

I've been living in San Antonio for two years, and out of everything, the one thing I'm going to miss the most is this vet.
Compared to the Tex mex food, the people, and things to do here (which honestly I found a bit boring), this place stands out for how kind and professional they are.
They always greeted my dog and me with the utmost respect, making every visit a positive experience. I was always scared to leave my dog at a boarding place while I travel for work, but they handled Kovu who has bad anxiety at times very well and professional. He does not mind going to this vet compared to others we’ve gone to in the past
If I could give more than five stars, I would.
For anyone new to San Antonio with a pet, I highly recommend this vet. They’ve made my time here so much better.

This was our first visit as I’ve been trying to find a good local vet for my dogs. I took my 8 (almost 9) year old Pointer mix here for his annual check up and prescription refill and they were so nice and efficient. We saw Dr. Stricklin and she answered all my questions, laid out all options and was very transparent. Needless to say, we found our new vet!

The staff, doctors, and techs are always so attentive, knowledgeable, and caring. I appreciate the quick turnaround for seeing patients, unlike other facilities where you have to wait a week or more. This is the primary reason I choose and also recommend Babcock Hills Veterinary Hospital. Thank you for taking great care with all my fur babies.

When you first step in everyone welcomed me and was so excited to see Millie and the technicians took such great care of girl I had NO worries what so ever and knew I was getting the best care. I truly would not take my best anywhere else! Everyone here is so great! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

I was charged $87.50 for a course of antibiotics which I found out later I could have bought a generic version of, through Chewy, for $4.20. I could have just asked the vet at Babcock Hills for the written prescription--no charge for that--and filled it elsewhere.
In addition, the vet did not physically examine my cat in my presence, did not even pet her. They weighed her and then took her away.

The staff was amazing! Unfortunately, our first visit to Babcock Hills ended in having to say goodbye to our family dog, Angus. Our normal vet could not see us when he got sick so we showed up to Babcock Hills without an appointment and they found a way to fit us in. They took x-rays and did an ultrasound then gave us the bad news and options. We made the tough decision to put Angus to sleep. Dr. Yamane was fantastic, she helped make him comfortable for another day so we could take him home and spend one last night with him. The following day we brought him back and all the staff was extremely compassionate and kind. Angus was a large lab and couldn't walk anymore so the staff were able to bring him in on a gurney, the tech that helped us was extremely nice and friendly. My wife, three kids and myself were able to stay with Angus in a nice room through the entire process until he was gone. Dr. Yamane sat on the floor with us and explained everything and made the rough situation as good as it could be by talking with us and taking her time. Our entire family is grateful to Babcock Hill and their caring staff that helped us through one of the hardest things our family has ever had to do. When we do decide to get another four-legged family member in the future we will certainly make Babcock Hills our veterinary clinic.
