When you first walk in we were greeted by this sweet gentleman who I believe was the owner. If you’re in need of a good book wether it be a western, biography, or even a kids book this place is a rare gem. I highly recommend this establishment and when I come back to
Visit my grandparents will get new books.

Absolute gem of a bookstore, there aren't many such bookstores left. Though they have an abundance of books about Texas and Texas history, they also have the classics, assorted history, fiction and more. There are some very old books and vintage periodicals as well. Thoroughly enjoyable visit.

The man behind the counter is prejudice! My husband and I went in to just look around and as we were looking the older gentleman told my husband that he couldn't afford certain older books. They were out of our price range!!! We were dressed decent but just because we weren't his specific color of preference he assumed that we couldn't afford any of his selections. My husband collects books and some in our own collection are more valuable than his selection, thank you very much! He has a huge selection of Elmer Kelton books but we got a couple personally signed from Mr Kelton himself when he was alive. Mr Kelton was such a sweet, humble and unbiased man that I know he would be greatly disappointed in the way this gentleman treats customers based on the color of their skin. NOT going back for nothing!!!

I visited Angelo for a while and looked around for a bookstore. I found this one downtown and was pleasantly surprised at how choked full of history it held and how many books it possessed. The gentleman owning/operating was very polite! His bookshop felt very homey. I loved the smell of old books and he had a whole selection of leather bound novels! When I visit Angelo again I'll stop by and say hi. The only thing I wish is that there was a place to sit down in- but it is so full (in a good way!) of books it simply isn't possible! Very good! :)

A great store to check out if you like older books and obscure topics, saw it featured on TCR and stopped in when I passed through town.

Not bad. The gentleman manning the counter is very nice. But it's super small. No seats to sit down and explore a book. And they are super expensive! It cost me $60 for three used books! (With a ten percent discount). Worth exploring but make sure you have a thick coin purse.

I found this place accidentally and was glad I did. I have bought, sold and traded books in the wonderful shop. I am working on a complete Zane Grey run and come here often. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It has all the greats like Kelton, Grey, and Lamour, but it also has massive non-fiction genres from Ringo and Longley to antique horse/cattle care. This might be one of the last shops like it in the world.

This is a gem of a book store, lots of little treasures to discover. I purposely came to have a look for some Elmer Kelton books, I purchased five, and two of them were signed. The guy in the shop was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It probably a good job that this book store is over 380 miles away from me, or I'd be broke! Having said that, they do ship! Can't wait to visit again.
