Store is often closed earlier than the posted closing time. Like tonight.. I stopped in at 8:32pm, store was already shut down for the evening. Store hours posted say closing time is 9pm on Saturdays

Nice place, with a little bit of everything.Friendly people, fair prices, impressive selection of cold & hot foods, a few tables to sit at. Even a case of Wisconsin cheese. More than I expected. This will be a regular stop on my visits to St. Jo.

Limited parking. Single men and women restroom. Women’s restroom wasn’t clean. Wasn’t greeted when we came in. Not camper or trailer friendly. There’s also no street parking on the main road. We pulled over with hazards on the side road and a cop that was there told us to move. Guess this town doesn’t want out of town business.

If they can't abide by the law where a nursing baby is concerned, I wonder what other rules and regulations they're breaking?

Here is a post from the facebook page... Okay, okay, okay ladies! It's late and we really need to tend to our families! Don't all of you ladies need to be cooking supper for your husbands??? Or do they breastfeed too???? This was posted after massive feedback about her telling a woman not to come back becasue she was acting beleigerant. But the store had apparently construed breastfeeding as sexual in my opinion although it might not be fact then harrased her for it when she left.... "told her to cover up based on the lady it happend to" what nerve do you have to tell a woman not to feed their child when the child is smelling the food your eating! Then construe it sexual instead harrasing her for feeding her baby. which is teh only reason I could think of that you would tell someone to cover themselves.... Instead of men who would or would not possibly construe it sexually as well... and when the person reacts use it as justification to tell them dont act this way or dont come back. This is legal.. and LEGALLY Protected in my nonprofessional opinion. Im not a lawyer and dont claim to be one but a layman can read this. To me she broke part C and D of LA breastfeeding law! L.R.S. 51 § 2247.1 I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE I HOPE IT GOES OUT OF BUSINESS!

The owner is extremely rude and disrespectful. She likes to publicly slander customers and disrespect nursing mothers. Before you own an establishment you should learn laws. What you did is against the law

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not eat here I'm guessing you took down your ability to rate experience ? Probably ,because you made the mistake of telling a mother she couldn't breast feed in your shop anymore. The only one who sexualized breast feeding as "showing off her titties" was you. Which says a lot more about you and your obvious insecurities. Which made you tell her that she had no right to breast feed in your shop again. Why should a baby have to cry to eat lunch ? If the baby didn't want to be fed it wouldn't of ate in the first place. A crying baby is a distressed baby. Hope you have fun with the backlash you ensued on yourself.

This place looks like your typical small-town convenience store with a few booths inside, but they make the BEST bacon cheeseburgers I've ever had! 1/2lb hand-formed patties with thick-cut bacon, shredded cheese, and the usual garden fixings stack the bun to an almost unmanageable height. It comes with a fountain drink and fries for $5.99. The fries are scant and nothing remarkable, but you really don't miss them with that huge, juicy burger. Their chicken fajita tacos are also worth mentioning. Three flour tortillas stuffed with chicken, onion, and peppers. Be careful though, as some of those peppers are jalapenos! No sour cream or guacamole, but truly excellent no-frills road food. UPDATE: This business has changed hands and has declined seriously in quality.
