Taken my dogs here twice. Both times they got respiratory infections. One got a sliced paw. And now they come home with a rash on their belly. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Ridiculous.

I boarded my cat Luna here for a week for Christmas while I was out of town. I was worried due to it being her first time being boarded, and her natural anxiousness around new people. I could tell when I picked her up that she had been... less than pleasant to deal with (she's typically not mean, just doesn't like people bothering her). But everyone there was super nice and friendly. They showed nothing but understanding and reassured me that she wasn't bad at all. I could tell they genuinely cared about the animals they were taking care of, and I'm so glad that I chose them to watch over her! They kept her well fed and everything, and she came back happy to see me!

I was anxious to leave my dogs as I was going to be gone for 11 days but my first experience here went well so I thought it would be good this time. Upon arrival, I checked out but once my dogs were brought out, I felt we were rushed out the door and I didn’t even have a chance to look at them until we were all in the car. After getting in the car, I noticed a ton of things that were off not only with their behavior but with how they looked as well. Both dogs appear to have either gotten into something that caused irritation to their eyes or have an infection (we will be going to the vet tomorrow). They both had large amounts of goop and crust all around their eyes and red bumps, are swollen and irritated. One of my pups had dry blood on his ears and neck possibly from scratching but again, this is not an issue we have at home and neither of them have allergies so it’s a bit alarming. They both look as though they lost weight and acted like they were starving at dinner tonight, however, when they were dropped off, I brought an unopened 30lb bag of dog food which is almost empty after 11 days of them being there and they don’t go through nearly this much in that amount of time so it’s clear to me that this food was not just being fed to my dogs. This is extremely disappointing and concerning and I will absolutely not be bringing my dogs here again. I will be updating this post after we leave the vet so I can find out what is going on with both of them. I hope no one else experiences this because it’s hard enough to leave your pets in the care of someone else as is but to come home to your pups having issues and not acting normal is an entirely different level of fear, not to mention that not only did I pay $500+ for boarding, I will now have to pay a vet bill as well.

PLEASE READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET! AVOID COMPLETELY.If I could give a review of 0 stars I would, that’s how bad my experience was. Against better judgement we gave a friend an opportunity so we tried them out.Something told me to stay away when I saw a previous review where someone spoke about their pet and their lack of food (Ashley Gentry). My puppy was left here for 2 weeks while we were out of town and when we came back to pick him up he was noticeably smaller. My puppy is a larger breed and growing significantly so when I saw him, I thought maybe my eyes were deceiving me.I was finally able to get my pup into his normal vet and he managed to lose 10LBS while there at this Ponderosa. Mind you I packed him extra food. Food for 3 weeks in total. We were promised a bath upon pickup that we paid for that was not given and no food was left at pickup either. His coat was ashy and completely dry. He gets a mix of wet and dry dog food, the second best you can buy in Fromm. Upon taking him home he looked dehydrated and like he hadn’t ate in days. Today’s ver visit confirmed my suspicions. He went in at 70 LBS, Todays weight 61lbs. WTH?!!!I will be reporting this business. Also check their Yelp reviews. 2.5 ⭐️If you love your pet please DO NOT BRING THEM HERE.This place is a sham, complete and utter trash.

I'm actually surprised at how many people rated them with 5 stars. For your pets, I'm happy to hear that, however, not the case for my two dogs that we boarded there about a year ago. They reluctantly let me see the kennels before their stay and honestly that should have been a red flag. I noticed that the water bowl was attached on the wall at the front of the kennel and was very small and there was a cot that was not in good shape and I questioned if it would be big enough for our larger dog. I have two dogs totaling about 150 lbs together. I asked if they filled the water bowl often and was told yes. My dogs suffer from separation anxiety and my vet suggested they bring their beds, bowls, toys to ease the stress. I even brought meds for anxiety. I was told by a very rude lady, they would not allow any of that because the dogs may chew their blankets or toys and they couldn't be responsible. I said I would sign a waiver because my dogs just don't do that and I felt it would make a difference for their stay. She was very rude and short, basically cut me off. Our larger dog has hip dysplasia and was on two medications. When we picked up our dogs they both had diarrhea, were dehydrated and our boy's hips were so bad that he whimpered constantly. Had he been given his meds and been provided with a decent bed this wouldn't have been the case. It took a very expensive trip to the vet and days to ease his pain. We felt absolutely horrible for having left our babies with these people. It was another year before I found a vet who also provided boarding to finally feel okay to board them again. Thank God there are facilities that truly care for your pets like you would. Our dogs love the new place, who by the way, let us drag our dogs' huge beds, bowls, toys, and give them their meds along with all the water they want! They even send pictures and updates on them to us! Sadly, we had that gut feeling and should have trusted our intuition. BEWARE of this place!

DO NOT BOARD YOUR PET HERE! Picked my dogs up and one was not acting his usual self and his lower half was in great pain. By morning he was lethargic, not eating/drinking, and not walking. When dropped off at the vet they reported he started having large amounts of diarrhea and vomiting up peas, carrots, and potatoes (which is toxic to dogs). Whether they intentionally gave it to him or he got into it under their care, it shouldn’t have happened. Another thing that did not sit right with me is I called to ask if there had been any incidents or if they had an explanation for why my dog wasn’t acting right. Before even asking my name or my dogs name, the lady responded with “no nothing happened to your dog.” Well how do you know if you don’t know who you are talking to? Do not risk your pet’s life!

We boarded our 3 dogs here and they had a blast! Ponderosa was able to accommodate our dogs with a very last minute boarding request. The dogs had never been to boarding and we were worried they wouldn’t be able to adapt, but the staff made them feel right at home! The dogs were clean, happy, and healthy when i picked them up. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean and safe. Our dogs will definitely be back!

First time ever boarding my fur baby (he’s 5) and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were so kind with answering any questions I had and putting my mind at ease. Drop off went well, no news was good news while I was away, he got a bath the morning of pick up, and checking him out was quick and easy. I always check his body language with new people and places. He was calm, no pulling to get in the car, and was super relaxed when we got home. I guess he enjoyed his vacation too. Thank you so much Ponderosa Pet Resort team. I’m relieved to know that my boy has a safe place to go if I have to be away from home AND (bonus) I have a spot closer to home for grooming needs.
