an hour agoNEW Love the groomer! She is amazing with my dogs but on two separate visits I have shown up to get my dogs and I have an enormous bill for services I did not know were going to be performed. That really puts someone in a bad position when not prepared.

I moved to this area recently from Dallas. I have unfortunately had to deal with several pet illnesses since I came here. I feel so very fortunate to have found this clinic and Dr. Clary. They are top notch and I am a very heavy consumer of veterinary services and know what I'm talking about. Everyone associated with the clinic is easy to deal with as well. I would drive from any part of the DFW to come there going forward. It is a 5 star operation all the way.

This veterinary practice is much different than any other I have experienced in all the past I have worked at or visited, in a very positive way. Prior to COVID, we were able to step inside the practice and be with our pets during the exam. They create a very relaxed atmosphere for the pet during the exam process. They dim the lights, play soft music and create an almost spa like atmosphere for the animal to relax. Unfortunately, due to COVID, they only allow the animal in the clinic and restrict owners from coming in. But that it understandable to keep everyone safe. I boarded my 2 cats for a week, with one of my cats being a diabetic. I received calls updating me on my diabetic cat and they went an extra mile of trying to get him to eat during his stay. He is a nervous personality cat and I knew this would be a challenge during his boarding stay. I appreciate the doctors and the boarding staff keeping me updated. Their boarding kennels backs up to the fish tank so the kitties have that as enrichment. They also have daily time with each pet for play and pets. They really go the extra step to make your fur babies feel comfortable. My kitty's vet called me once I got home with him to check on him and update me on what they saw with his diabetic condition. We received good news that he might be cured and asked for glucose values for the next few days to continue to monitor. He is in remission now. I am grateful for their observations and follow call once we were back home. I couldn't ask for a better veterinarian to work with. Thank you all.

AHR is the best! The staff and Dr. are so friendly and take special care of all the patients, our pup mocha recently had a bad tooth fracture and I called and Dr. Hurley was able to see her and get her check her out and schedule to come in for a dental exam and extraction. Dr Carter took such good care and even followed up same day to check up on mocha. This was our full time vet in 2016, glad we came back and will continue to do so! Thanks again The Lackore's, of Rowlett

I am very disappointed with this clinic. I have never been to a vet where they charge an exam fee for a quick follow-up from a previous visit. Dr was only in the room 1 minute to look at the redness on the tooth. Dr just said keep an eye on it and left the room. This was not the first negative experience we have had with the clinic, but it will be the last.

We love AHR, so much!! They are always timely, efficient, understanding, & caring. I love the two separate entrances for cats & dogs, as well as the extra steps they take to ensure our kitties are comfortable. Dr Hurley loves my girls like her own, & I could never ask for a better veterinarian clinic and staff.

We have been coming here to have both of our dogs (and English bulldog and a French Bulldog) groomed and seen since we moved to Rowlett over 2 years ago. Can't say enough nice things about Dr. Cleary herself- she is great.... but the office staff, technicians and groomers have ZERO communication. EVERY SINGLE TIME there is an issue with grooming. Their procedure is to have them dropped off between 7 and 8 am and they are usually ready around 3pm to be picked up. When we drop them off we go through their print out of services that need to be done and they will make notes and mark things off that don't need to be done and highlight what you are paying for. So you would THINK that it would be smooth sailing come pickup/checkout time. The last time we had their grooming appointment, we had said that we needed both of their nails cut, baths and glands expressed..... it was on their list and highlighted. When we picked them up..... no nail cuts and only one of them had their glands done. Hmmmm not happy there because when we found out this information, it was when they were bringing our dogs out to us and we had already paid. So they had to refund us. Fast forward to today..... I drop the dogs off at 7:15 AM- so they are one of the first ones there.... they need two baths and two nail trims. The Frenchie needed his bordatella, so we were told that it was required that he have an exam. I said, "Okay cool- do what you need to do, but my main thing is I need my dogs nails cut as short as possible because she keeps getting her foot caught in the blanket where she sleeps." The office lady noted that and PUT STARS NEXT TO THIS AND HIGHLIGHTED IT. Well here it is 330pm and I haven't heard from them to pickup my dogs but they have been there an entire day and are about to close so my husband and I decide to just go and get them. When we go to pick them up there are two different office ladies there. The lady pulls them up on the computer and says ok just for two baths? We told her no, we should be charged for two baths, two nails trims, and an exam with a shot. She fiddled around on the computer for no lie 6 minutes and then was like okay let me go back there and get them to clear this up. So she is gone for 10 minutes in the back and comes back out and is like okay well we didn't have time to get to the exam today but we got everything else done. I was like so he didn't get the shots he needed? She said yes he did just not the exam so we can do that next time. Okay- flag number one... y'all told me that the annual exam was REQUIRED in order to receive the shot??!... So my husband pays for everything, and the lady goes back there to get the dogs and comes back like 5 minutes later with only the Frenchie. He is COVERED in loose dog hair by the way- and it looks like he wasn't brushed at all. She said "oh I'm sorry we couldn't get the nails done, only two of them because your dog kept lunging." I was super upset and told her that was one of the main reasons we came today was because my dogs needed this. I know they don't like their nails cut and that's why we take them to professionals who know how to handle this. She just kind of shrugged and was like we can refund you for the nail trim. Okay just now another time we have paid for a service we didn't receive and have to be refunded here after the fact. So as we are dealing with that the English bulldog still hasn't come out. We wait another couple minutes and there she finally is, she also is covered in loose fur. Granted they smell great, but ZEROOOO brushing went on. We get home and I'm getting them out of the car and there is blood ALL OVER my floor board. This made me livid. Clearly what must have been taken so long is they were cutting her nails (which was not told to us) while we were waiting for her, and they carelessly rushed. Even though they had been there for over 8.5 hours.. Her nails were cut so short that they didn't stop

Love this place! Our First visit for an emergency in which case we thought our baby had no hope, Dr. Carter was amazing, she was very sympathetic especially considering we had to put down our other baby two months prior to this event! Thankfully our sweet boy made it, they let us sit in the back and comfort him since he needed to stay several hours for observation. Everyone was super friendly and sensitive to our situation! And when it comes to the price, there's no limit when it comes to a fur baby. Will definitely start bringing my little boy to this Vet!

I have been bringing my animals to Animal Hospital of Rowlett since they opened many years ago. My babies usually see Dr. Clary, but we have seen each of the other vets at one time or another. Everyone has been caring, showing compassion, including the staff. I lived in Rockwall for 23 years but moved to Trophy Club two years ago. I continue to make the drive to Rowlett unless I have an extreme emergency. They are the best!
