I was part of a large group at the convention center. For all I've heard about this place, the facility was just ok. The food and the service were well below expected. It was either bland or over-priced, and they couldn't keep the buffet stocked. Many went without vegetables. They also packed it up before everyone was finished. It was just one day, but it definitely didn't live up to the reputation.Food & drinks: Not up to par for the price and reputation.

This place is cool! But the bedding…. It’s a whole bunch of fitted sheets! The comforter is even fitted! I’m sleeping in a cocoon! Gonna come out a butterfly in the morning!

Kalahari Resorts is located roughly 30 minutes away from Central Austin. Even though the location isn't very close to the city, the resort itself has tons of amenities. From an amusement park to the water park, there will always be something fun to do. I specifically went for Ikkicon, and it's always a blast going to that convention. Kalahari just amplifies that fun to the next level! Food at the resort is decent but pricey, staff is friendly, and hotel check-in/out was seamless

Writing this review for those who actually have a budget in their life and based off my children at the resort. The attitude of the people who work the (indoor) waterpark, like the people who work the towels, some lifeguards, food carts, are RUDE. Terrible attitudes, no courtesy to guest what-so-ever. ValetWas great. Nothing here is free. Even the water in the room is $5 PER bottle. To eat here at the resort is expensive. $40 pizza that was awful?? the markup is crazy. $30 if you don’t return per towel when you are done for the day. They will charge $400 to whatever card you used to book your stay incase of things like not returning your towel, room service and then at the end of your stay they will reimburse you with whatever you didn’t use. So if you think whatever you spent on the resort is crazy just wait till you get here. Don’t waste your money @ the steak house. It wasn’t worth the money, the best thing was the bread. Eat off the resort your tastebuds will thank you and so will your wallet.Outside is WAY better than the indoor water park. The people are nicer, it’s not crowded, good snow cones. And the slides and lazy river are weren’t so crowded for your family to use. We enjoyed the outside way better than what we did on the indoor. The amusement park is a neat attraction, very impressed besides the mini golf. Everything else my kids 5 & 2 loved and could do a lot of them. My kids really did love it, it was magical and fun for them. As an adult just be prepared financially to spend more than expected. After eating at the steak house the first night we never ate on the resort because the food really isn’t that good for what you’re paying for unfortunately.*was better than great wolf lodge but not for the price.Rooms: Clean.Food & drinks: Awful.

Pristine, energetic, and well designed staycation facility in Texas.I worked a convention here and now understand why my coworkers love this place. Absolutely amazing! The only downside is the crazy cost of any and every thing here. I made the mistake of purchasing a single can of beer. Nine dollars for a single regular can of beer is way too much. It wasn't even a craft beer either! Live and learn, I guess.Rooms: Extremely clean, generally refreshed daily, and kind staff who were willing to help with reasonable requests.

We went on our fourth trip to the big K on NYE this year! There’s nothing like it. If you want a family friendly resort you found it. There is something fun for every age. Extremely clean environment. Exceptional staff. Plus side is that everyone you meet is having a great time also so the energy is extra fun! Downside: on site food SUCKS and that is being kind. Upside: there are so many local spots worth visiting for any meal. Valet your car for easier ins and outs. $40 a day to do so and you’ll be saving that much by leaving the resort anyway. Totally worth it.

Love all the restaurants and shops inside the hotel. Everything, even the convention center, is connected so you don't have to go outside. Very big parking lot, didn't have any issues with parking.

Gross BUGS! Had the unfortunate experience of discovering not only a stain and hair in the bed but BUGS!! Please check beds thoroughly so that you can avoid this same experience.Management was only able to provide a $25 Kalahari gift card on the day of checkout for a $400 room. DISAPPOINTED to say the least.Noteworthy details: Disgusting hotel bedroom for such a well known establishment! Management was not helpful at all. Sad to see this from Kalahari

Nearby activities: Water rated ok, but seriously disappointed when we informed them on that a child thrown-up. We informed 3 different employees of the matter. And took 30-45 minutes to clean up . Before people were walking on in their bare feet, i put chair over area to keep the water park guest from walking in it. Eventuallythey came a bucket and brush and push the throw up in the children water slide area. I know the havea powder to put and can sweep it up.

We live in the Austin area and decided to go to Kalahari for my grandson’s fifth birthday. I just love this location you can walk and find almost everything! There is a pizza restaurant there, a nice deli, a very nice steakhouse, ice cream shops, candy shops, a gorgeous spa, great rides for the kids, nice bars, a piano bar, etc. my grandson thoroughly enjoyed himself, and my family was just so overjoyed to be there. I must say whether you’re from the Austin area or not, this is a bucket list resort. Even if you don’t stay there and want to enjoy a beautiful getaway, this is your place. Place is about an hour outside of Austin. Would you drive up? It just looks like another land.Food & drinks: Thank you double cut for making my grandson’s fifth birthday extraordinarily memorable.

This was my first time here and I LOVED it!!! There's so much to do and the service was fantastic. If you're at the grotto ask for LEON! He was the best employee there!!
