Dr. Vasanjee, his team, and all the staff did great with my fur baby. She went in for a surgery that took over 3 hours for thyroid cancer, a lump in her lung, a cyst, and I was impressed and am forever grateful that my baby came out standing and everything was successful. I don’t know how surgeons do it but doctors like Dr. Vasanjee and his team deserve the world! The staff too at front and during discharge were extremely patient with us and showed us how to hold her when taking her out of the car. They’re all amazing!

Words cannot begin to describe how thankful we are for Dr.Hoh and team and their extensive love and care for our Roo. We are so appreciative for all the effort put into to trying to help her. We know how hard you guys worked to help give us answers and we are so thankful even though it didn’t turn out the way we all wanted. Thank you for your empathy and support as we navigated through Roo’s health issues. We are still grieving her everyday and wish things turned out different. Your attention to detail and helpfulness will always be remembered.

I have always taken my pets to this place as our go to emergency place! Heart of Texas Veterinary staff, techs, and doctors are outstanding! This was a great overall experience given the dire situation with our Cooper. They were compassionate and caring towards Cooper our 9 year old chihuahua mix. HOTV was clear about treatment plan and next steps. They answered all my questions and concerns to allow our family make the right call for our dear Cooper. He can now forever sun bath and we are at peace.

On 10/19/24, I woke up to my chihuahua giving birth. Unfortunately, the first puppy did not make it and my dog was not able to push out her remaining 3 babies. I went to the first emergency vet clinic and it was way out of budget for the c section and I had to drive another 40 minutes to get there. I proceeded to find other nearby locations, but none of them were equipped to conduct the surgery. I called Heart of Texas Veterinary Clinic and sent them the x rays I received from the first one. Luckily they were across the street! The moment I arrived, I was greeted by the receptionist and they were so thorough and caring for my baby girl. They got me in the room immediately and the tech and doctor came in within a few minutes to run some test on my dog. They explained everything so well and told me they had high hopes for her. Well, she came back with the rest of her puppies, instructions on how to care for her, a refund because I overpaid, and answered all of my follow up questions, even my dumb ones. I just wanted to say how grateful I am to Heart of Texas Veterinary Clinic for providing me peace and a high level of service. Thank you so much Dr. Edwards for taking great care of my baby and treating me with the utmost respect. I’ve never felt so calm in an emergency surgery and it’s all thanks to you and your team. I hope this review gets to you and I’m going to recommend everyone I know to your clinic. This will be posted on all of my social media. Words cannot explain how relieved and thankful I am for all of you. I know I can trust your team and will be going to you guys from here on out. Thank you again and God bless you all!

A few months back I had to rush my Australian shepherd to HOT in the middle of the night and was so pleasantly surprised by the experience. The staff, especially Wes, was incredibly attentive and compassionate, taking the time to listen to my concerns. Wes provided clear and practical advice on how to manage my pet's condition and what next steps included, which was not only reassuring but also saved me unnecessary expenses.
What stood out the most was the honesty I recieved from Wes; they didn’t push for unnecessary tests or treatments, focusing instead on what was best for my pet’s health and my budget. The clinic was clean and well-organized, which added to my confidence in their care. Overall, I left feeling informed and relieved, and I highly recommend this clinic for anyone in need of emergency veterinary services.

We rushed our dog, Ollie, to Heart of Texas following a vicious dog attack. Given it was a Sunday, our usual vet was closed and a frantic Google search for an emergency pet hospital took us to Heart of Texas. We were incredibly nervous / frantic, given the traumatic event, the extent of Ollie's injuries, and our inexperience with a new care provider.
We are so grateful for the care Heart of Texas provided:
- Ollie was immediately evaluated and other non-emergency appointments were proactively pushed to make space for him
- Dr. Edwards / receptionist / technician answered our concerns / questions with sympathy and care, also making sure my husband, who was also injured in the attack, was taken care of
- The treatment plan offered seemed fair / honest - when there were opportunities to scale back, they were suggested / offered
- The suturing was incredibly well done - our usual vet continues to rave at how the careful work by Heart of Texas significantly aided in Ollie's path to recovery

My dog was taken here when he was injured by another animal. His eye had dislocated and came out of the socket. We took him to Heart of Texas Vet for surgery to remove his injured eye. I was very upset that day but they staff was super nice and very comforting during this tragic time for me. They took excellent care of my dog and provided comfort for me.

I can’t thank Dr. Vasanjee and his team at Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center enough for the incredible care they provided for my dog, Pancho. From the moment we walked in, Dr. Vasanjee was informative and made sure we fully understood the surgical process and what to expect. The entire team was compassionate and professional, and we truly felt like Pancho was in the best hands. We’re so grateful for their dedication and highly recommend them to anyone in need of specialized veterinary care!

Our pup had a emergency common bile duct blockage. The team at Heart of Texas took care of our girl quickly, efficiently and ensured she got the best care. She underwent surgery and we were continuously kept up to date with her progress and recovery. We can't thank the team enough for saving our girl and letting us visit her during recovery. One of the best ER and speciality surgery teams Ive ever experienced.

It’s hard to find the right words to express the deep gratitude we feel for everyone at this vet hospital. When we were transferred late on a Friday night, we were scared and didn’t know what to expect for our Harley. Her stay was longer than we anticipated, but we were so fortunate to have the same two doctors, Dr. Sam and Dr. Abraham, looking after her day and night throughout the weekend. They called us twice a day with updates, which was such a comforting and unexpected surprise. Their dedication to Harley’s care meant everything to us.
The ICU techs were also incredible, treating Harley like their own and making sure we were welcome during our visits. Harley was much sicker than we realized, needing an NG tube, IVs, blood work, and scans, but knowing she was in such capable hands made the longest weekend of our lives a little easier to bear.
On Monday, we received a text from Jamie, the Internal Medicine tech, with a picture of Harley and details about her day. It gave us so much hope, especially knowing that Dr. Hoh, with her incredible expertise, was involved. Dr. Hoh spent 30 minutes on the phone with me, going over Harley’s illness and care plan in a way that was both honest and reassuring. She called us every day for three days with updates and results, and it meant the world to us.
Kayla, the night ICU tech, was just precious. She tolerated our late-night visits and cared for Harley with so much love and kindness, truly wanting her to get better just as much as we did.
After five nights, we were finally able to take Harley home on Wednesday. We’re not sure she would have made it without the incredible care and effort everyone put in to help her.
No words can fully capture how much this team means to us for saving our girl and taking such good care of us, too. To each of you—thank you. I may not remember all of your names (and I’m so sorry for that!), but Ryan and I will forever be grateful for all you did for Harley and for the other pets you care for every day.

Quickly triaged our Paris and within a few minutes we’re able to discuss in depth our options and their recommendations. First emergency vet in temple would receive one star for their concern, immediate non assessment of Paris condition and poor front staff.
