Always have a great experience here. I had some time today and read the previous negative reviews. One was for a mortgage which I have no experience with and the other was for long waits. I have never experienced anything other than quick service.

I started with First Texas Bank when I was with Dell. 25 years later, they are still my bank and I refer people to them regularly. When it comes to the money matters that affect my family's life, it makes all the difference in the world to be with a bank that treats me like an important and valued customer, versus being caught in the machinery of a large corporate bank's rules and processes.

We opted for a commercial mortgage with this bank in 2016. We thought giving the business to a small, local bank was a good choice, since I am a small business and its important to me to keep things local, whenever possible. Unfortunately, this has been the worst experience with a bank I've ever had and no one at the bank seems to take any responsibility for any of it. We do not (and have never) received a single mortgage statement, we had to beg for a mortgage payment coupon (none are provided) and we have to ASK for a year-end mortgage interest statement, so that we can even file our taxes! There are many more instances of incompetence, but I'll leave it to you to decide to do business with this bank. But if you're a smart business-person, you'll steer clear.

Everytime i go into this bank, you can stand there for the longest time and no one cares to help you. I stood there for 15 minutes today. 6 employees and one employee helping one person. Can no one do anyone else's job? No one cares. Worse customer service everytime I go in there. Withdrawing my 3 accounts

I am editing my review to advise that after writing a scathing review on Google, the bank called me the same day and righted their wrongs of some statement fees they had charged without advising not all was right with the world in their system. I wouldn't automatically out of the gate trust these folks 100%, hence the less than 5-star review. But they will do everything they can to make it right once they've been told to.Don't love their online banking platform, it could be more user friendly.

We used this bank for a business checking account for several years and also have a commercial mortgage with them (but not for long). I CANNOT DESCRIBE the level of incompetence and the frustration it has caused me and my company to do business with these people. Every single process if fraught with difficulty and each of the managers we've dealt with (except for one) has been non-communicative and incompetent, going all the way back. Setting up the initial mortgage was EXTREMELY difficult and the management of that mortgage even more bizarre. They send out NO mortgage coupons or statements of any kind..?? How are you supposed to pay this thing on time every month? No mortgage login site to find this information, either. I finally had to verbally assault them to get the payment coupons I needed! I've owned many mortgages over my life but never had a problem getting the information I needed to manage that mortgage. I never received a settlement statement (which my CPAs are asking for) to get the proper tax deductions for the property each year.... They would never be able to handle simple, electronic fund transfers, making it impossible to pay certain vendors with funds from my account... I ended up having to go to different banks and take money out of different accounts just to complete a transaction with a vendor. I ended up closing that account at my earliest opportunity. Every legitimate complaint I've forwarded to this bank, to try to reach someone who had the competence to fix these problems, was never returned or even acknowledged. I went with this bank for this mortgage/account on a referral from someone, and because I've got lots of other accounts with BofA and other larger banks, and wanted to keep my business small and local for a change. I'm a small company, so those things are important to me. I'm sorry to say, sometimes going local can be a detriment and not a benefit to your business. I couldn't be more disappointed.

Recently had one of the best experiences I have ever had with this Bank! I have been a customer for over 21 years and have had good service. But most recently I have to commend someone for taking care of my concern and doing it with a good sense of urgency. Sherry Montemayor went above and beyond to take care of me and my customer needs this last couple of days! Thank you Sherry for your outstanding support! :)

I do not have an account with First Texas Bank, but I was so impressed with their service I had to write a review!! I needed change for a $100 dollar bill for a client. I walked into the bank and there were 3-4 people ahead of me and a gentleman walks in from the back to try and help those in line. I told him I didn’t have an account but I needed change. He said no problem and soon brought me back the change. However, across the street at Wells Fargo, they couldn’t give me change unless I had an account with them!! She could give me change for a $20 dollar bill, but not a $100 dollar bill!!!!! Thanks First Texas Bank!!!!!!!

Always friendly. Local and great service. Any time I've ever had a problem (which is seldom) i have always been able to talk with someone to get it fixed.

I am sad that First Texas Bank is not compassionate to our seniors who live on a fixed income. My 80 year old mother made one mistake and was charged a 35.00 fee. Her electric bill went thru right before her social security check went in. She didn't have enough to cover and they charged a 35.00 insufficient fund fee. I understand she made a mistake but it was one time and when we called customer service and stated we fixed the problem and to ask for her not to be charged they said no. They said if she had more money in her account or had been a customer for 10 years then yes. So I guess my mother is not important because she doesn't have more money. I could totally understand if she had done this before. She can't afford to lose 35.00 and just wanted a little compassion once. Not happy. I have made a mistake at another bank and they gave me another chance. Not this bank unless you are rich.

We have had our 4 business accounts with thrm for over 10 years, and they decided to close all accounts, as we were too cash intensive for them. We worked for a month to change banks and finally found banks to assist us with our accounts. They have a high turnover rate of tellers, and they have been pleasant, but the middle management has been curt and non negotiable in dealing with our company. I would not recommend dealing with this bank, as they really do not want your business. What used to be a small town friendly bank, has turned into a group of folks that do not enjoy their job or customers.

I have been a customer at this location for almost 20 years. I've stayed loyal and have not moved to any other bank even though they offer convenient ways to bank, like 24 hour ATM's where you can deposit cash and checks to your account. Also have way more locations to chose from, because they are bigger companies. So I understand those things, what I can't understand and won't be ok with is poor customer service. Today I rushed to their drive teller to get there before 6, it was 5:59 and the light was green. The lady teller that was there tells me, while she's helping another vehicle "did you not see the light, it was red! I closed it at 5:58". That is just ridiculous customer service, there was a nice way of handling it, even if I was there 1 minute after 6:00!!! You can't treat a loyal customer like that. I'm very disappointed to say the least.

I have banked with First Texas Bank since the early 90s. They've always given me great service and better or lower or no fee services compared to the bigger brand-name banks. Recommend them for anybody who is sick of bad service from places like Wells Fargo.
