Much better pricing than Walgreens, and I mean significantly better. Where Walgreens was charging $90 something for my Rx with insurance, BSW only charged $4. Also, BSW always have my meds in stock.

I wrote a great review and decided to change it. I know my problems aren't serious nor life threatening, however, I do expect my doctors to follow-up on what THEY state. To this end, I revise a great review on doctors and decided to just state that the front desk, back desk, lab techs and nurses are super and get 5 stars. Boo Hoo hoo on Dr. Wu and Dr. Kotin! I'll revise based off their upcoming behavior...

I went in for a preventative visit in December, and have never had a worse medical or business experience in my life. I want to preface the remainder of this by saying I am fortunate to be pretty healthy, so I usually only go to the doctor for annual exams/well woman visits (which are fully covered by my insurance plan)- your experience or financial expectations may be different if this is not the case for you. I am being charged over $350 for a preventative visit due to the doctor running 2 extra diagnostic tests that I was not informed of and are not part of a standard preventative visit, and therefore are not covered by my insurance. During my visit, the doctor mentioned seeing some irritation and asked if I was experiencing any issues or symptoms, to which I said no. She said it would likely resolve on its own, but that she'd go ahead and prescribe a 2 day supply of antibiotics to resolve it more quickly. She finished up the visit and told me to go to the lobby and someone would be out to do my blood work. Went through the blood work and checked back with the front desk, who said I was good to go. Here's where everything went downhill- I got an email a couple of weeks later with a bill for over $350 for my visit. No phone call or explanation, other than the out of pocket charges appeared to be part of the labs they ran. So I called the BSW customer service number referenced on the bill and customer service told me I'd need to talk to my insurance about why they didn't cover some of charges. I called my insurance, who informed me there were 2 lab tests on the claim that are not part of any standard preventative visit (annual physical, well woman, etc.), and therefore they would not be covered by the insurance and I would need to check back with the clinic about why those were ordered. After several phone calls with customer service and portal messages to the clinic, turns out the $350 is for the irritation that I hadn't even realized was happening prior to the visit. So I spent several weeks going back and forth with them via calls and portal messages (side note: I was hung up on by a customer service agent and had portal messages ignored by the clinic, and had to continuously follow up with them throughout this weeks-long process to get any updates) trying to get these charges *for tests I wasn't informed were going to be run for an "issue" that wasn't bothering me and that the doctor stated would have resolved itself* removed from my account. They let me know in early February that the charges will not be removed and I will be expected to pay the full amount either in a lump sum or payment plan, but that I could apply for financial assistance - see below. To qualify for full coverage through BSW financial assistance, you must make 200% or less of the state poverty line- in Texas, that's less than $26000 if you live by yourself, or less per person if you have more than 1 person in your household. To qualify for assistance if you make more than ~$26000, your BSW bill must be $1300+, depending on your income. In addition, to receive any financial assistance, "Patients must exhaust all other payment options, third-party funding, and medical assistance programs. If a patient does not cooperate and pursue all options, financial assistance may be denied or revoked if already approved." So, they can bill you for services without informing you, send you a bill after the fact, and the above financial assistance (which I imagine VERY few people in the Austin area would qualify for due to the cost of living) is the only option they provide to lower the cost of the bill. I'll just reiterate here that my insurance fully covers preventative visits, and note that BSW has already been paid almost $1500 by my insurance for this 30 minute visit. BSW is supposedly a not-for-profit company and claims to be a "Christian ministry of healing" that values 'serving faithfully' and 'acting honestly', with a core strategy to "Reduce the financia

Always quick and efficient. The staff is always pleasant and they reassure you if something is taking longer than anticipated. They always do their best to give the best option and the best price, even if they have to harass your pcp to help you.

My son had surgery in June. My insurance paid them, the place my son was injured paid them, and I paid them $1500. I was to be reimbursed by the hospital for my $1500 payment. I still haven't seen a dime and last time I called them they confirmed we had a credit for $800 so far. I haven't seen a dime of it and haven't gotten an answer to what happened to the missing $700.
