Kevin is always super nice. And honest as the day is long. Last time we saw him because my check engine light was on. He diagnosed the problem and told me what to do (in this case go get a factory gas cap) and didn't charge me, because he didn't complete the repair.He is prompt and professional.

My car shows overheating notice and asks me to drive moderately. I stop for a couple minutes and when I start again, the gage goes down to normal. I took it to horizon auto in rockwall and they told me the problem was with the thermostat. For about 1100 they said they replaced the thermostat and flushed the radiator. Shortly after picking up the car, the same problem happened. Took it back and they told me IT was the head gasket and quoted me over $5000. I took it to Kevin and he replaced the water pump the very next day and problem fixed. I recommend this guy. He’s HONEST and a GOOD mechanic.Services: Transmission

The search is over! I finally found a great auto shop/mechanic in the Rockwall/Fate area. I can't speak highly enough about KATC Auto Repair and Kevin Millsap. I read great reviews about Kevin online and figured I'd give him a shot and was not disappointed. I was able to drop my vehicle off immediately after speaking to him on the phone and within an hour he called and provided an update. Instead of getting a large bill for unnecessary repairs, Kevin diagnosed the problem and didn't charge me as it was a simple fix. Any other shop would have said there were some parts needing to be replaced that in fact didn't but not Kevin. An honest mechanic is a dying breed and I'm confident Kevin is one of the few. KATC just earned a long-term customer, and I would not hesitate to take any of my vehicles there and would recommend you do the same whether it be for regular maintenance or unforeseen issues. Exceptional experience from a great guy. Thanks Kevin!

Love this place. Kevin is hands down the he beat in the area. Honest, fair, and gets straight to it. Took my jeep in and he took a look called like he said he would told me what he thought the issue was and even gave me a few options.

I took my car here to get my transmission rebuilt. First thing was they kept my car for 3 weeks before ever even working on it. When they finally gave me my car back I had noticed that the shifter gear was not catching in Neutral, Drive and over drive and that I couldn't hear the car shifting in certain gears. I informed Kevin of this and he said, bring the car back. I brought it back and he kept it 2 more days and the following day when I put the car in reverse it just revved like it did before they worked on it. I then asked him for a detailed receipt and he said, you don't need one and that everything he said that was done to the car was done. I said, then why do I now have a car that does the same thing it did before you worked on it. He told me it was my shifting gear and that they couldn't find one. So I took my car to a professional transmission place and he told me it was my shifting cable and he couldn't find one for sale. He also mentioned that when the shop I brought it to was doing my rebuild they should have checked the cable and tried to get one first and they would have found out it wasn't available. I now have a car that still revves in reverse and the new problem of the shifter gear not locking into gears also when I told him that, he told me not to pay attention to the colors on the shifter. I am very disappointed in this shop. The only reason I took my car to this shop was because my boyfriends job uses this mechanic. But like me he now does not trust the work of this shop.
