If you want a top notch workout facility for the the entire family, this is it. We have loved being a part of the YMCA in Rockwall. There are many group classes to choose from and the instructors are great. The facility is kept very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

Clown shoes of an organization. Make you pay a fee to join, then pay for the uniforms (which is understandable) but then the "coaches" don't show up to practice or the games. My daughter was supposed to be cheerleading and literally just stood in the hot sun the whole game while some parents were calling, trying to find where coaches are, and this happened at multiple games. It's just a shame and a giant waste of $300+ for no return and the kids suffer the most. Just stick to league, select or school sport and save the money.

?♂️?️♀️??????????Hey everyone! Today, I wanted to share my thoughts on the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA location, and also delve into a bit of its history. The J.E.R. Chilton YMCA has been serving the Rockwell community for several years, providing a space for individuals of all ages to engage in various activities and maintain a healthy lifestyle. While the facility may be small in size, it offers a range of exercise equipment that is always clean and well-kept, ensuring a safe and enjoyable workout experience. One of the standout features of this YMCA location is its swimming program. Myron, the instructor, has been a pillar of the program for many years, ensuring that children receive the proper basic training in swimming. His dedication and passion for teaching are truly commendable, and he plays a vital role in instilling confidence and water safety skills in the young swimmers. However, it's important to note that there are areas that could use improvement. For instance, the young swimming coach seems to lack effective communication skills and often appears more interested in being on their phone rather than actively engaging with the swimmers. This can be disheartening for both the children and their parents, as clear communication is crucial in any coaching role.Moving on to the front desk staff, while they possess some skills and knowledge of customer service and handling, there is room for improvement. One noticeable issue is their cultural incompetence, which can make individuals from diverse backgrounds feel excluded or misunderstood. In a community as diverse as Rockwell, it's essential for the YMCA to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and understood.Additionally, the front desk staff often seem unable to make decisions to solve customer problems, instead redirecting them to someone who may not even be present at the facility. This lack of empowerment can be frustrating for members who are seeking prompt resolutions to their concerns. Furthermore, the facility's customer service approach of avoiding issues rather than addressing them directly is unexpected from a well-known chain like YMCA.Another aspect that needs improvement is the facility's policy transparency. When asked for a copy of their policy, the staff was unable to provide one. This lack of accessibility to policies can create confusion and uncertainty among members, who have a right to understand the guidelines and expectations of the facility they are a part of.Despite these areas for improvement, the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA is located in a wonderful neighborhood. The Rockwell community is known for its peaceful atmosphere and educated residents, making it an ideal location for a YMCA facility. However, it is crucial for the YMCA to adapt and improve its services to meet the needs and expectations of this community.By sharing my logical perceptions and experiences, I hope to encourage positive changes and improvements within the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA. Let's work together to create a facility that truly serves the needs of the Rockwell community, providing exceptional services and fostering an inclusive environment for all. ??? #YMCA #CommunityMatters #ImprovementNeeded #RockwellCommunity

My kids took swim lessons here for two weeks with Kierra and Kaden and loved it. My family are members and we have taken an outdoor exercise class with Kellee M. which kicked our behind but she was very involved with everyone as she encouraged them and coached them to activate the targeted muscles designed for the exercises. The weight room and machine areas are clean and not very crowded in the earlier mornings (745-9). They do have an outdoor and an indoor basketball court that are used for some classes so I don’t know when they’re available for actual basketball. They do have youth leagues for volleyball and swim from what I’ve seen. You can schedule exercise classes and book certain facilities/equipment using the MINDBODY app which is pretty easy to use.So far, we’ve enjoyed our Y

We're glad we made the decision to enroll our kids here for their swimming lessons. Their instructor was very gentle and thorough in teaching the skills his students need to know. He made swimming fun and nonintimidating but still challenging. The pool area is indoor and spacious. We noticed that they have 2 stationed lifeguards that kept changing like every 15mins - maybe to ensure that they're always attentive. Another plus for this center is their clean and organized shower area with a mini drying machine for your swimwear:)

I love their varieties of Les Mills and other training classes throughout the days, even in the weekends. Amazing instructors! Would be nice to have more variety of gym equipments, though. Still love it there!

Signed up in Jan of 2023 and realized very quickly that the open court days did not fit our schedule. We have tried to cancel it every month since and we’re told it was taken care of. Today I called for the 6th time. It is now June and I was told that we had to go in a fill out a paper for it to actually be canceled. This is the first time we’ve been told anything about filling out a paper. A complete waste of over $400. There was no apologetic manner from the woman on the phone either. The accountability this business holds its self to is none existent.

The service was great the only reason I am giving it a four is just because I did not make it past the front desk. Clean, great service and kid friendly.

The experience was great! I do wish there were more options for toddlers to play sports and more activities on-site for them to participate in. Staff was great.

Wonderful place to connect to the community. With it's sports teams, clean facilities, awesome staff and group fitness classes, there's something for each member of the family at the Y.
