I tore my Achilles in June, 2022 playing basketball. Was released for PT in January, 2023. Being 61 years old, this was a significant injury that I would not wish on anyone. Once released for PT, I chose Rick and Stephen Zivney of Genesis Physical Therapy (same shopping center as 24 Hour Fitness). They were extremely knowledgeable and wouldn't allow me to reinjure myself. I learned more than I ever wanted to know about overcoming a major injury. I hope you never need a PT, but if you do, these are the right men for the job.

Genesis PT are the most careless people and all they care about is the money. I've never missed an appointment and I've never been late and if I had to reschedule I always called days ahead. Today somehow I missed my appointment after being with them for almost a year. I homeschool my kids and we have so much activities. I'm with my kids literally 24/7. We just got out of being sick back to back for 2 months now and Monday was the day to start a good day catching up on life and our activities well I completely missed that I had an appointment. This was the first time. They told me that it's a $200 fee for missed appointment and $100 if I reschedule for the week only. I explained how sorry I was and that I'm not a person to miss appointments. She said it's policy and we have to go by policy but we love you so much. Listen "we love you so much" shouldn't cost $100 or $200 so stop faking it and stop telling people you love them when that's not your true self, it's just a selling point. It's already a very expensive appointment. We already have so much to deal with in life and this is how you will take care of a mom for just this one time. I've dealt with severe ppd after kids and I know how it feels to be a real mom. I know that we are humans and we go through so much already so why can't women be supportive and understanding of each other. But no it's our freakn policy and we don't care about you is what I heard from these people. I will never ever recommend Genesis and will never go back again. Go ahead and charge your $200 to make you happy but know that my $200 is not going anywhere good. You cared so much about your money that you were willing to lose a client. There are so many amazing PTs out there and Genesis is not on the top of the list. And let me add something else, I don't go to my appointments because I'm afraid to be charged for missed appointments, I go to my appointments anywhere with anyone because I care and I think canceling last min for no reason is wrong. It's funny I could've lied about missing my appointment but I didn't, I was honest about it that I truly messed up THIS ONE FREAKN TIME. If I kept missing my appointments and I was never on time then I'd understand but it was ONE TIME after a whole year being with you guys and you are 45 min from me without all the traffic. This is truly ridiculous.

I just had the best experience ever at Genesis Physical Therapy (next to Samee's Pizza)...I called today to try to get a same-day appointment because of constant pain. They didn't have any open appointments, but Caye (the office administrator) said that Rick Zivney would be happy to cut his lunch break short to come get me in. How awesome is that?!Once there, Rick took ample time teaching me about the muscular and skeletal issues going on with my injury. He started me with some light rehab, and I left feeling so much better than I went in.I know Rick & Caye have been in business in Rockwall for a long time, and this is nothing knew to any of their patients, but to anyone out there exepriencing muscular pain or injury, go give them a try! Also, helpful info that I was not aware of until Caye told me, you no longer need a referral in the state of texas for physical rehab. You can walk in without a referral and insurance will still cover it. Good to know!

We first went to Genesis for my son's broken ankle that happened during high school sports. They recommended Rick and his business. I knew I was going to the right place when several people I told, said you could not have picked a better place and each had their own successful stories about Genesis. Rick had a great, no nonsense, work hard and this will get better attitude with my son and he could not have responded better. He ended up coming stronger than he has ever been out of the deal. I also went their for therapy on my neck which ended up needing surgery, and can not say enough good things about how much better and stronger I feel. My wife ended up going there as well and loving it like us. I guess you could say it became a family event all because my son broke his ankle. His wife (Kay) works there as well and you will not find a more sweet supportive person than her. Not only was Genesis a great decision for my entire family, we made some new family out of it.

Was in dire need of help for my shoulder and was referred here by my pcp. Greeted warmly by the receptionist and the appointment started with the male therapist sitting me down and telling me a stories about a football coach injuring his shoulder and he kept coughing incessantly. He apologized saying he had allergies and was not sick but it was absolutely awful. He talked way too much and didn't take any measurements or feel the tension of my shoulder. He strapped me into a medieval looking machine and he wanted me to move my arm back and forth as fast I could to measure my strength. I have had neck surgery and had a shoulder injury but that didn't keep him from telling me I was weak. Then he would ask me , "Is that the best you can do?" I was flabbergasted!!! He said it to me again as I was checking out at the end. " was that really the best you could do?" I said yes but I can't believe you're asking me that of course I did." In which he responded , wow you are really weak." This was in from of his wife, the receptionist. OMG!!!!! Of course I'm weak !! that is why I was there !!! To get help!!! Needless to say I was injured from that machine and spent time in rehab for two weeks unlocking my back muscles from this awful , unprofessional experience. I have waited 2 1/2 months to post this because I did not want to write this out of anger but folks , this was an awful experience for me ! I have now found a physical therapist that has actually taken measurements , not coughed on me, not wasted my time with stories and assessed the damage and weakness in my shoulder and is helping me recover through stretches and movements that do not injure me!!!! I am grateful I found someone else who could help me!!!

If you are considering Genesis; just do it. Rick and his staff are purely the best in the business. My son is a high level athlete, and had knee surgery in April. His first PT got him healed but not ready. Rick spent his time focusing on Alex's needs, and did more in three weeks than the other did in three months.Rick has even taken the time to watch Alex play since then, and is continually checking on him. This man is good at what he does, and a good man too. More than 5 stars from my family.
