There is a thief working at this location, and I’m pretty sure it’s that front counter guy that works in there. I sent a card to my uncle in MS. I asked to buy a stamp. He checked me out. As I was leaving to go drop it in the drop box, he insisted on me putting the envelope in his hand. Turns out, it’s been over a week, and my uncle has not received the card yet. Ain’t no good gonna come to a thief. And then he has the nerve to be working at the front counter with gold earrings in his ears. Unprofessional with sticky fingers. Y’all need to place this post office under investigation. Stop stealing people’s stuff.

Quite literally the most annoying experience I've had at a postal office.
Had something shipped, and the USPS website told me to go to this location to pick it up, easy right?
No, first off, I was alone in the building and the lady took 10 minutes to even speak to me. After showing her my USPS website info, it took her 20 minutes to find the package, telling me it wasn't there. (who would have thunk it, it ended up being there) but accidents happen.
She asked for my ID, which I live right on the border of Roanoke, so my ID says fort worth, but my apartments are IN roanoke. She basically told me for 20 minutes thst despite having the USPS code, and despite my name and address all matching, because I was not a roanoke resident She couldn't give me the package. after minutes of arguing, her boss came out, took the package, printed out MY address on a piece of paper to prove me wrong by tapping her fingernails all over it.
it got the point where I basically asked "So you know that's my package, and that YOUR website delivered it here, but you can't give it to me because my ID doesn't say thr same sub city of fort worth?"
she eventually let me know she could indeed give me the package, she just wanted me to know that I don't live in roanoke and shouldn't be telling people that
(Yes sir, we do deliver to your apartment complex) they know exactly where I live, she seriously just wanted me to ... say out loud that I'm aware Fort Worth and Roanoke are not the same city?
all of that aside. They literally forgot about me on multiple occasions (before it even got agro) and where rude from the start.

Terrible service. Does not deliver to any apartment nearby. “No secure location” is code for too lazy to walk up the stairs.

Roanoke PO is usually an easy walk in and walk out place. Today was no different!

Drop orders off from my small business here all the time. Always have pre-paid USPS labels so they make it very smooth also with the new Click-N-Ship service. I always simply walk in, skip the line, drop off my packaged, and boom they mark them as shipped and handle them from there. They're always very friendly and my orders get shipped out quickly!! Thank you Roanoke USPS for all of y'alls stellar service.

There is a realm where lost socks go in the clothes dryer, and then there is the Roanoke, Texas post office...where a black void scrambles and devours one's mail. I'm giving them a second star because the overworked front counter staff tries (and I feel for them), but I've started going to Southlake to mail things -- and do everything I can to avoid having a package shipped USPS because we have had several packages lost. Supervisor calls never come through, and the general feeling is, "Sorry you trusted us...you should know by now that the back of our building is a vortex where the hope of those working in the back is as lost as your mail..."

2 packages that tracking numbers show "delivered" but never showed up. These people are thieves.

Im giving a 1 star because I have to, this is by far the worst post office you could ever deal with. They will misplace mail left and right and trust me they do not care one bit how important it and how much you paid for the mail piece. I had my evelope lost for over 30 days in Seagoville office and finally got it sent back and now it magically also got lost in the Roanoke post office. All they say is "Yeah so sorry about this" not sure if they are sorry that they cant do their job? Or that they loose everything. There is no excuse for having the mail people misplace everything, I understand things happen but come on now 3 times already? I paid $30 for express shipping all these times and they are "sorry " im sure they would find a solution if it was their mail getting lost constantly. Worst worst worst experience EVER!

Updated, they left a note on my door to come pick up my package and did not knock or ring the doorbell. The driver just left a note and drove off. Which was very frustrating. I wouldn't bother calling for help, as they tend to be too busy to answer. A great addition to this review is how friendly and helpful the clerk in office was. Her attitude and work ethic were encouraging to see and helped me resolve the issue in under a minute once I got to the desk. I wish the issue did not happen, but it was resolved professionally.

I saved for three years to buy a specific piece of art from overseas. Tracking says it made it to the Roanoke post office. Then it vanished and nobody would help me. Talked to two 'regional managers' who promised to look into it but they did not. I got screwed basically.EDIT: After reading the other reviews I'm convinced that this office is stealing things at will. BEWAREUpdate(a few years later): one of the carriers we've been stuck with the entire 7 years I've lived here won't bring packages to the door or even hide them. She leaves them on the ground under the mailbox. I've had countless packages stolen, soaked by rain, run over or left in the heat to be ruined. Today, it was a portrait of my recently deceased dog, the colors altered by the heat. Thanks

The poor service you get here and the inconsistent delivery to homes in Roanoke explain why the USPO is going bankrupt
