This place is no good, I took my mother back in March for gallbladder pain, we arrived at 1am and had my mother waiting in corner seat until beds were available, she was in pain, throwing up and all, they waited to give her a bed until 6am and pain medicine, just for about an hour until she had an ultrasound, just for them to tell us she needs to see a nutritionist. We knew she needed a surgery, but they decided to send my mother home. Not to mention the billing. Horrible service! Don’t go there!

I went here because it said it worked with my insurance. I had cut open the end of my toe, and it was too late in the evening to go to an urgent care clinic. They rinsed it with saline and iodine and then said they weren't sure what to do. Then, while chewing gum over my cut, they decided they could just cover it with glue and Steri-Strips and wrap my foot in gauze. They took x-rays, and the doctor said it didn't look broken, but they were still going to send it to radiology and charge me for it to be reviewed. They billed four grand for this small adventure, saying I had surgery. I would go anywhere else or just don't go and hope for the best. I have learned my lesson about using this facility. I never even left the triage room, which is really small, and you are packed in with other people who are in respiratory distress and probably going to get you sick. When they were done they made me hop on one foot out the door. It couldn't let me use a wheelchair, I guess. They just said bye and walked off.
Edit: When you call the number they are just confused as to why you called. They have no idea. It is just to save face on Google which checks out.

Wait for hours, just to be given pain meds and basically told good luck. Pathetic place, never tried to figure out the cause of pain or anything.

I can't even give this place 1 star. Very unprofessional. My husband had a medical emergency at home a couple of weeks ago and was taken to Oak Bend. Unfortunately he did not make it. What makes me disgusted is the fact that when they took us back to the family room you could see my husband's exposed naked body. I saw it. My sister in law saw it. My brother in law saw it. And my poor 14 year old son saw it. Anyone walking around in the ER could see him. I know that I was not in my right mind, but my brother in law told me later that the people talking to us mumbled their way through whatever they were trying to tell us.

They deserve a negative star. 1 is still a lot for this place. No no no, you don’t wanna come here to get help, they will make you worse and they will scare you off and make you wait the whole day and they will do their best to sell you any service possible (scans, x rays, blood works, give you injections…) without asking you just to charge you the max. And they are lazy and slow. Please not this place worst decision I took because I didn’t check the reviews.

I have gone for my mammiogram at this oak bend for several years. Always found staff very personable and helpful. It is very uncomfortable being squashed into position and I appreciate their sensitivity.

Came in with a cut on my hand. I was stitched up right away by Dr. Woo. I have been to this ER before, but Dr. Woo kept mind at ease. Overall my experience was satisfactory. The ER overall seems to have improved since the last time I was here.

What a horrible place. Was transported there by ambulance. Cat scan showed I fractured by back. Gave me some pain meds. Then put me in wheel chair and took me to the lobby and said good luck. All within 6 hours. I'm now back in San Antonio. Different doctor and been admitted to a hospital here. Stay away from this place

My wife fell recently and is 78 years old. she broke her right arm pretty bad. I found this place on the internet and lo and behold it is an old facility, not at all like the pictures. I was so sorry I picked them but the staff was terrfic. I am now, after 2 weeks, very glad I took her there, even though it was a 1 hour round trip daily.

Very painful experience. When we got there ,they asked for my symptoms. My neck was hurting so bad I managed to explain to them . You won’t believe they kept asking the same freaking question knowing so well I couldn’t talk due to the pain in my neck(very inexperienced and inattentive RN ). I was put in the bed the nurse who was assigned to me in an emergency room didn’t know how to find a vain, and the excuse was he is from a different hospital . Really????Another nurse came in and found the vain and connected all the fluids after drawing blood. You won’t believe they fluid got finish. While I was sleeping ontil it was my wife who got the hospital room to tell them it was done. The doctor after seeing what I was going suggest another test for n illness which i said. No toImmediately They brought my results to say yes i had some bacteria in my neck. And at that very moment i was discharged. They didn’t even spend a second to treat any pain or suffering i was going through. that they couldn’t treat me . But send me to the pharmacy to get antibiotics. And if the pain continues i come back .In my life I have never been this disappointed .

I went for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I was greeted by a woman who was very aggressive about me being late?!? I was not late. She took me to outpatient surgery and complained that I did not return my calls. They had a wrong number. My doc was supposed to do both mentioned above. He did not. Not only will he not see me again, I will never set foot in that hospital again. They surely need to replace their reception person. She has control and aggressive issues. And the phone calls they were making to the wrong number the day before my surgery, it was to tell me to come early. Who knew? Cute hospital.

This hospital is horrible. Moving to Richmond Texas unfortunately this is the closest ER. They are always backed up and so slow. They always have me sit in a hallway exposed to people walking by coughing etc. I dread coming here . This place is horrendous. I truly don’t understand how this place is open. I was involved in a car accident. I’m in a lot of pain but yet I’m still I was asked after I complained to pee in a cup and just wait and be patient. I’ve been here for hours. The worst part is seeing the staff lounge around sitting on table’s laughing etc . It makes me feel like they don’t take patients serious in any manner. Unless it is an absolute emergency I highly recommend not EVER coming here

I absolutely love this place. Always very quick to help. My husband has been here multiple times and I once and every time they do their best to figure out the problem and get you in and out as fast as possible.

this review is specifically on the senior care unit on the 6th floor. my father was admitted there and immediately they put him on an antipsychotic (Seroquel) . He has never been diagnosed as schizophrenic or bi polar, or to have any mental illness. He was brought here for an evaluation, to see if he had dementia. Us, as his family noticed immediately he was not himself. He was hallucinating, and was out of his mind, due to these meds. We asked the doctor to remove this medication from his chart. Signed paperwork saying he would no longer be receiving this medication until a proper evaluation has been done. There was a failure of communication between the practitioner and the nurses, and were still giving him antipsychotic medications, after my mom and I signed paperwork to stop the medication, days prior. After we raised some concern, they tell us that ALL the patients in the unit are on antipsychotics, and they will not keep a patient there unless they are on antipsychotics. (Respridal, Seroquel). He has been in the unit a total of 2 weeks, and someone visits him everyday to ensure he isn't being abused and mistreated. Every shift we call and find out how he is doing, there have been nothing but good comments told to us via the nursing station. Now today, they are saying he has been combative the entire time he's been there. but why has this never been mentioned prior? Yesterday, during visitation, I saw a little old lady who had bruising on what looked like 3/4 of her entire body, including what appeared to be a choke bruise around her neck. The patients report a large amount of hostility and abuse on the night shift, including the choking of this little frail old lady. We have reported this facility and are doing everything we can to raise awareness of the care of our senior citizens in this Senior behavioral and care unit. Some of the patients say they are locked in their rooms day and night, with little to no mental stimulation, no TV. They have said that there are nurses that threaten to shoot them. A place like this would cause a mental decline in anyone, senior citizen or not. If you have a loved one, who is in this facility, please check on your people. You have to be their voice. Ask about their medications, and diagnoses. Google their medications. Go see them as often as possible, and check their body for bruising. It appears this facility only wants to "dope up" their patients, and lock them away, not help treat and diagnose. These people are still human, and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. The abuse is very apparent if you just pay attention.

Could be better with service in the emergency room location.Wait time once placed in a bed could stand some improvement. No mask were worn in this area even though the sin is posted that you must wear mask beyond this area at the check-in window. The area we were placed in their were blood spots on the wall. Rooms need new coats of paint and cleaning. Urine specimen taken but never removed from the room. Urine specimen was there even when we were discharged. This location can really stand a go cleanup and rooms look a bit more inviting to the patient along with pravicy.
