This is a message I have sent to their corporate office. I hope I receive a response considering I didn’t receive one yesterday.
My husband and I have a unit at your Crabb River Road, Richmond, TX location. We on the 4th floor of the climate controlled building and have a 10x20 unit. We have been trying to move our stuff out of the unit because we are moving and need to put our furniture in there when we move next week. We have been going for the last 2+ weeks and the elevator continues to be out of service. There is no one on site to assist us or answer any questions. We have come down to the wire and rented a truck yesterday. Showed up to the facility and still no service on the elevator. It is 100 degrees here in TX. My husband and I tried to make as many trips as we could up and down the 4 flights of stairs but could only do so much as the heavy items are impossible and the heat was unbearable. We called and were on the phone for almost an hour with your customer service and got zero help. I have been unable to move out of my unit now for several weeks and now will be going into July and have to pay another months rent due to the inaccessibility of my unit. Not only that, I am now out the money for the rental moving van from yesterday that I couldn’t load, and now have to go rent an additional unit for my furniture items I need stored as of July when I have to be out of my house. This is over $1000 in expenses I have incurred due to your inability to maintain your facility. Please call my husband or myself and let us know how this will be remedied. Not to mention I saw several large rats entering 1st floor units and a bat at the entrance to my unit. This is disgusting snd extremely poor management for a unit I pay $260 a month for.

I have used a variety of storage facilities. This one is clean and safe. I feel like my belongings are secure. They were helpful and did a nice job when I talked to them. I would recommend them for sure.

Called to inquire abouts unit size/rates. Person asked for my name and telephone number. Finished my conversation and immidiately got a text message about news and alarts. Never once did the person ask for consent to subscribe me to the company newsletter.

This was my first experience renting at any type of storage facility. I was apprehensive at first but Shameka, the manager, put me at ease. She explained everything I needed to know about storage unit rentals, she was very helpful and friendly. Since that first rental 2 months ago, I have since rented a second unit and have even rented a U-Haul truck from them.. Every time it has been nothing but a great experience. I would recommend to anyone needing a storage unit to speak to Shameka and get ready to move in the same day. All it took was a few minutes and I was out the door and on with my day. Thank you.

Not the place it used to be! Noticed earlier this year that management had changed or at least the employees within the office. Previous employees would be very helpful in any way possible! Present employees, you're lucky to get them on the phone if you can! On a 10'×10' climate control unit, the price will go up $45 after 3 months. I moved to a place closer to home and saved myself $60 a month on a same size unit with climate control!

Move-It Self Storage is a very convenient location in Richmond, Texas with easy access to 59 and 99. It is very clean and the units are large (tall on the inside). The ease of renting a space was so easy. The staff is extra friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place and the price is very good as well!
