as a former student of loan star karate i can say that i enjoyed my time and i recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn karate, they made me feel welcomed and put in the effort for each child.

My 4yr old son recently started training at Lone Star Karate and he loves it. His only complaint is that he can’t go more than 2 days per week! Thanks to the team for making our son feel so welcomed.

I went there yesterday and didn’t have a good impression of the staff, especially the Coach. There was a big sign said “ Lonestar Karate “ on top of the office, I went in…..and I experienced discrimination . The lady said this is a private school and told me the karate class is on the back. As soon as I walked out, she asked a little kid to lock the door. Later on, I found out that she was the Coach. I would never and ever enrolled my daughter here….If it was me, I would be nice and asked if I could help with anything? It is really standard customer service . I guess they don’t need my money lol

I’ve been going to Lone Star Karate for the past 5 years. I’ve been taking adult fitness classes and kickboxing/boxing classes. I always say, “it’s the best kept secret in Fort Bend County!” Shawn and all the instructors (past and present) are professional, top-notch trainers who know what they are doing. They all genuinely care about their students’ progress and let us know when we need to make a change to make the exercise/movement/punch correct. Not only that, the workouts are challenging (which is what you want to improve your health). The atmosphere is always a happy, fun, and encouraging one. Great workouts and great people! As long as I can walk – I’ll continue to go! Come join us!

Over the years, I have trained at several different gyms in Fort Bend and Houston. Lone Star Karate & Self Defense stands above all others because of the family friendly environment, individual attention each student receives, and the plethora of training opportunities including knife and gun defense, boxing/kickboxing, grappling, combat conditioning, and sparring. Everyone is welcome at this gym and it is a safe place for those who want to improve themselves mentally and physically.

I have been coming to Lone Star Karate for many years and LOVE IT!!! The adult self defense classes are like nothing else around. Owners and instructors are very knowledgeable and down-to-earth people (not very common in this industry) that have a true passion for what they do and are always updating curriculum to keep up with the real world. They have courses for all ages and all levels of experience (even if you have no experience like me when I started). I highly recommend Lone Star Karate!!!

Lone Star Karate is amazing with the kids of all ages. They really take the time to work with each student, encourage, and praise them. I love that they teach students how to respect but also protect themselves when it comes to strangers. As a parent, it's the last thing you want to worry about, but grateful that you have Shawn and Caroline as instructors to teach them and explain. They really treat their students like family! Their classes are a perfect blend of discipline and fun. I highly, highly recommend!

The personalized self-defense classes are the best! Shawn made me realize how I needed to "think" differently as well as helped me to learn several moves/ways to keep myself safe. We discuss "situational awareness" often which I believe is key to any form of self-defense.

We came in yesterday for my sons first Karate lesson. The teachers were very personable and the owner was very informative. We cant wait to go back.
