“They were the ONLY payday advance place to lend me the cash I needed. Long story short, I started my new job and hadn't gotten paid yet. The problem was my backrent was due NOW or I would have been evicted. My credit is terrible right now so banks were out. I just needed to make it to payday, which fell after my rent deadline. They're the only ones that DOESN'T check credit score or employment like other companies advertise (looking at you ACE), just steady source of income and an active bank account. I think they require more info if you do it online. Some companies require you to be at a job for 3 or more months but what about the people who are newly employed with a better, higher paying job but is between paydays? I paid my loan off IN FULL a few days later as I promised when I got paid. Go here, people! One thing I didn't like is they make you put references down with the in-store application. I don't think they check them because I just made up some names and numbers and had no problems.”

“I attempted to post the below statement on September 26, 2023 regarding an adverse experience at Fiesta but it didn't post. However, considering a subsequent adverse event that transpired today (October 2, 2023), I am reposting and will be adding additional comment in this post or a subsequent post.(Original Post)FIVE STARS FOR THE STORE MANAGER, BUT ZERO STARS FOR THE SECURITY GUARD!I was getting my car fixed at the Firestone (across the street from Fiesta) and I brought my bike with me to ride to Planet Finess to workout. I stopped at Fiesta to get a Gatorade to drink with clear backpack where the inside contents are clearly visible. As I walked in, I contacted security and stated that I wanted to get a Gatorade and asked if I can take my bag with me or can I leave it up front by the cashier. The security guard (who was a female) said "No" you can't bring backpacks in here,....but here's the kicker! Another customer walked in with a backpack along with a baby, but the security guard didn't say anything to her. I questioned the security guard and asked why is she allowed to come in with a backpack and I'm not. The security guard responded by saying "I don't speak English"; however, she had just stated that I could not come in with a back pack in English. Afterwards, she stated (in English), that the lady had a baby so she can come in with a backpack. (Note: But wait, I thought that she couldnt speak Engish !)I asked for manager and the store manager came and greeted me with outsanding professionalism! I instantly felt like a star! This gentleman is real deal and employed common sense rather than potential discriminatory practices. We talked for roughly 30 minutes about a variety of things, but to make long story short, I was able to purchase my drink and move on.I've shopped at this location for a long time and it has come a long ways. The new store manager is the real deal and a great addition to the store and the wider community. As a community activist, public official, retired veteran, etc..., It is nice to know that this store has such outstanding leadership at the helm! I'm not sure how they're gonna resolve the issue with the security guard, but I trust that something will be done considering the promises made by the manager.Update: (Fast forward to today October 1, 2023).I was on my way to Planet Fitness to workout. I stopped by Fiesta to purchase an energy drink and a PowerAide. As I walked through the door I saw the same female security guard talking to another employee. I ignored her and went to find an energy drink and a Power Aide drink. After locating the Power Aide drink, (in the back of the store), I noticed the security guard near my vicinity (by the coinstar). I ignored her and got in line (which was long) to pay for my items. As I looked to my left I noticed the same lady that the security guard was talking to originallt constantly staring at me. I ignored it, but as looked to my left, the security guard had moved about 10 feet from me and was staring in my direction too. At first, I ignored it, but after a while I became annoyed and frowned my face at her and stated "why are staring at me". A few minutes later, the outstanding store manager opened up another register (#4), so I darted to that register. As soon as I went to register #4, the security guard repositioned herself from where she was to a position (where I assume) she could see me. As I paid for my stuff and walked out, the security guard was having a discussion with the same lady that she was talking to initially. Both were starring at me and talking, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcolmed. To document the incident, I pulled out my phone and took a picture of them as I walked out the door.Comments:I'm not sure what is going on at this location, but this is the second time within a week that I feel that I've been unjustly targetted and profiled. This behavior is dangerous because of the potential civil implications. (Note: The picture was blurred ”

“Well, it took a bit, however THEY got it! I went in the store as I have been since it opened and when my total was reached I wrote my check as I always have - only to be told "we are not accepting checks for more than $200" Oh, I said, "I did not see the sign or was told prior to now that this was your policy." Even my cashier had no knowledge of their NEW POLICY. So what's a shopper to do? I was told I could "put away the overage" I just spent an hour collecting my weekly food expenditure - I'm not about to put anything back. I was expecting to hear "we'll honor it today (the check) but remember, we have a new policy, no check written for more than $200." Fortunately I was carrying some cash for the difference. As I was packing my groceries away I felt they should have honored the check ONE time only since I AM a regular, so I went to customer service to let them know I felt I was not satisfied with the way it was handled and the Assistant Manager was non forgiving. I explained the BEST way is to PUT SIGNS ON ENTRANCES with new policy to make a difference, apologize for not honoring my check and making me pay with the few dollars I had reserved for my grandkids lunches. Finally the young LEAD cashier, ANNABELLE stepped up and offered me a Winco gift card for the difference I had paid, YESSS, thank you. A customer's satisfaction means a RETURN customer. I was ready to call it quits there after the Assistant Manager Keith, said he didn't know who else to contact about this incident because I made it clear, I could have walked out WITHOUT the groceries because of their NEW POLICY that I was unaware of because I always spend more than $200 a week on purchases there. THANK YOU to ANNABELLE for her sharp conclusion to this unfortunate situation and of course I'll be back for more purchases!”

“Moved nearby this store, which I had passed by on 820 for years and never stopped. I really like this store, they have tons of items in stock and on some items have really good deals For example recently Monster Cans at $1.59 per Vitamin Water Bottles .98 per Coconut Waters .98 per Not everything is cheaper than Walmart and its certainly not Whole Foods or Market Street, but is a great place for normal everyday stuff. I keep odd hours and love the fact it is 24/7 and I have never felt unsafe in the parking lot at 5AM”

“Stopped in on vacation bc this location had a Starbucks. We were trying to figure out what we wanted for brunch. While in the store we ended up in front of the deli. The lady that helped was amazing. We decided to get an 8 price chicken. Half habanero half baked. We also got wedge fries and red beans and rice. The habanero was amazing very little heat but great flavor. Very juicy. Everything extremely fresh. The big winner for me was the red beans and rice. Highly recommend this grocery store very clean.”

“I LOVE LOVE LOVE this Tom Thumb! Everyone who works here is so kind, helpful and actually takes the time to say hello and ask if I'm finding everything ok. It's got a hometown feel every time I walk in, and I'm so glad it's close by! Love the managers too who I'm sure help create the great environment. I just saw the main guy congratulating and encouraging one of the new hires and it just warmed my heart! That's what we need more of everywhere! Supportive, friendly, invested managers and leadership!”

“I love this store always has warm flour tortillas when we don’t wanna make them lol. Salsa is nice and spicy and if you want flour gorditas you need to call so they have them ready for you to pick up.”

“Very good grocery store. We've recently shook up our grocery practices, having been in a sort of Krogers trance for a decade or so, going out of habit to the one near us since it was new. But it's been in steep decline and with the arrival of HEB to the area, we woke up and are examining the grocery landscape we've been blind to. We since have been coming here and we are very pleased! For starters, this place looks immaculate, totally spotless, so orderly and neat it's amazing. We even said "this place is roughy the same age as the Kroger up the road and this proves Kroger has no excuse to look so dilapidated, when THIS is possible in roughly the same area". It's so orderly, I couldn't help but even straighten up the voids I made in the products as we shopped like I worked there! Haa! I just respected it, you know? Anyway, the prices are on average a bit lower too, some by a lot! I believe the reason is they don't dabble in the annoying point system or the apps to try to hook shoppers into a "marriage" of sorts the way everyone does these days. To not even try to game shopper's behavior or try to track them at all they don't have to invest in it, so everything is straightforward and they have a lower overhead. I LOVE it. I'm done with having Kroger hook me into buying gas from them in a loop of trying to get the most out of points nonsense. Winco is the simple old way and I've missed it (and a little annoyed at myself for missing out all these years, but no more)! The checkout is great, staffed far more "human" than Krogers, and even have the choice in paper/plastic to optimize your sacking. The employees straight-up seem frankly happier to be there, and authentically, not robotically acting out a script. A nice bunch. They surely must be to actually try as hard as they do and it shows by just looking around. I could go on and on, we were very analytical about our "change-over" and we doubtless will be checking out HEB when they finally open, but regardless how good they are too, Winco has TOTALLY won us over and we will be coming back here regularly for good! Thanks, Winco!”
