I went to Velvet Snout on a recommendation and wish I would have gone there earlier. They we're nothing but awesome. Personable employees and super easy to work with. My two dog friends look AMAZING! This place works well on a teacher budget (and they value teacher with a teacher discount). I WILL be back! :-)

Josh, the director of training, has a tight leash on things here, no pun intended. From training to boarding, you can be assured your four-legged family members will be taken care of the way you want them taken care of.

Jessie was the most remarkable and patient groomer for my little Gus for years. Gus is no longer with me, but I will always appreciate how the Velvet Snout took care of him!

Left my dog for 6 days. I came back and picked him up and he was visibly thinner than before. He had multiple scars on his back and a small little puncture on his right ear. He barely had energy when I picked him up. It was like he was petrified and suffered from some trauma. EDIT: I didn't reach out to you guys because other than a few scratches that turned into scars, he's not permanently maimed so I only care that he's back in my care. After a night of sleeping he was spritely again. I paid cash and didn't receive a receipt so I don't really feel like going thru any hassle. EDIT #2: Laura reached out and we communicated thru email. I'm sure I'm likely a one off experience. She's been decent enough to followup and care. I'm not saying don't use them, this was the first time I've used a pet boarding. I just didn't know what to expect. Thanks Laura

I am part of a non profit that transports shelter and street dogs (Going Home, A Rescue Transport) headquartered in Richardson. We frequently have need of services such as training and boarding, usually without much notice. Josh Harris of The Velvet Snout ALWAYS does everything he can to help us out. The facility is clean and spacious. They have a very nice "yard" set up for various stimulating activities for the dogs that come for daycare. The staff, all of whom clearly love dogs, are kind, helpful, friendly and competent. The Velvet Snout, and Josh in particular, help us to do our job better and we feel like they are a part of our team.

This was my first time to bring my poodle mix to the velvet snout. Kenny met me at the door and spent at least 15 minutes finding out exactly how I wanted her groomed. He was delightful from start to finish and did an excellent job on her. I can’t speak highly enough of Kenny after having poor experiences at other places. Highly recommend.

I can't express our gratitude enough for The Velvet Snout. Our doodle has been rather difficult from day 1 having almost every behavioral issue under the sun and we were about at our end and feeling extremely discouraged. I reached out to Josh and we immediately enrolled our pooch into the board and train program. Is it magic? no. And as Josh would say "you won't get Lassie in 2 weeks" but Josh has been there to calmly advise without judging us for all of our rookie mistakes we have made in the past. He has listened to our concerns helped us come up with a realistic plan that fits our busy life style and slowly but surely we are seeing our dog transform into the good boy we were hoping for in a dog. Velvet snout has been invaluable to us. They have been able to groom him and we now have a resource for daycare and boarding when we go on vacation where before we had no options given our dogs difficult behaviors.

I have used velvet Snout for grooming services for years, and I have always loved the work they do. I recently utilized the training services. I can’t say enough good things about the training, the trainer, Josh, and his crew, and the follow up! I feel like I’m gonna be as well trained as the dog! I highly recommend using all the services they offer.

Jesse is the best groomer in town! Our senior dog is usually terrified of groomers, but goes inside the doors to The Velvet Snout on her own! She is always happy when she comes out looking cute. Jesse is consistent in his work and we are grateful to have found him at The Velvet Snout!

We boarded our two dogs. They seemed to be happy when we picked them up at around 4:30 pm, but one urinated a LOT in the lobby and then even more outside. He was supposed to have 5 hrs of day care on top of boarding - this makes me think that they weren't let out as frequently as we were told they would be. Also - both towels we provided were soaked with urine. Our dogs are very house trained - this was worrisome.Staff is sweet, but the front desk clerk couldn't give us an itemized receipt. Facilities seem clean and well maintained.

We tried a handful of boarding/daycare options for our shy basset-baby, Maeve, before finding Velvet Snout. We take Maeve here any time we are going out of town or are out and about for the day. The staff is so friendly, welcoming and communicative. We love the option to check on her with the cameras, she has a fantastic time with all the other dogs, and always comes home clean, happy, and tired. So thankful and happy to have Velvet Snout!

Our little Pom, Prissy looks absolutely amazing! We were so skeptical about taking her to a groomer because of her trauma and PTSD from being from a previous abusive and neglectful environment.Lauren sat in the floor with her until she was able to win Prissy over and Tonya had her acclamation to the grooming environment before even starting. The care and concern these people have for your beloved, forever pet is absolutely one of a kind.We will never go anywhere else for Prissy!She deserves the best and The Velvet Snout in Richardson is it!!!
