Roy is a fabulous stylist. Best experience I've ever had with shampoo and style. Roy washed my hair thoroughly with additional massage of the neck, forehead area, and around the ears. He has perfect technique of styling the hair, is professional and courteous. The price was below what I usually pay for this service. Amazing experience!

My hair dresser, Judy, is a superstar (highly recommend). Unfortunately, not so much the owner.
1. As an androgynous person with a men's cut, I was always charged a men's rate (by the owner herself since I first came in 2023). For some reason today, she decided that I needed to be charged the women's rate because "men and women receive different types of cuts due to different hairs between sexes". Errrr, isn't hair types an individual thing? Some people have oily hair, some have thick hair. Unless owner thinks all men have same thickness and waviness of hair?
2. Owner made a comparison that we both have short hair. Yes - but hers is clearly a pixie cut and if she can't tell the difference, that'd be very concerning.
3. Owner agreed that prices should be charged by hair length but is worried that there'll be dissatisfaction from staff. If you're the boss, you make the rules of how pricing is done ?
If it costs $50 for a good cut, sure! But if you're charging your customer unfairly, that's where the problem lies and satisfaction tanks.
Is this worth the lifetime value of a repeating customer that has been coming for a year and would probably continue to if this altercation never happened?

Yeeeaah I'm taking that good review down. So, the first time I came here, no problem, excellent service and amazing price for a trim, especially with my long and thick hair. For the trim they only charged me 25$, shampoo and blowdry included, done by Yi. But, my second time here, with the same amount of hair, a random lady took me in and did the same trim and shampoo + blowdry treatment but this time they charged 45$ ??? Absolutely not coming back. :(

If you're looking to get a Japanese perm to straighten your hair, this is the place. It's not going to be a short process.
My Japanese perm took almost 6 hours. I opted for an additional charge to use Shiseido w/ my perm.
My hair has not looked this good in 3 years. It grows out curly at the roots, which is The reason why I had to go get it straightened. Plus it frizzes out from a perm I had almost 5 months ago.
Definitely is a lot of money for the 6 hours, but totally worth it.
Annie, Paul, and Roy were fantastic thank you! Paul took extreme care with my hair!
I drove all the way up from Houston, well worth it!

Roy is an ARTIST! I was quite concerned about getting a Korean Perm but he made certain it worked perfectly. He worked diligently to assure there was not even a crimp in my hair from the curlers. If you want a perfectionist, Roy is your hairdresser!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this salon and about Roy. If you are considering a salon for a perm, I highly recommend Roy at Mimi Hair Salon.

I had a great experience here. It was my first time getting my hair professionally done and I couldn't be happier! They made great suggestions on what to do for my hair and were very helpful in assisting me on what color to choose since I was a bit indecisive.
I brought friends over to keep me company and one said he'd definitely come to get a cut here sometime since it seemed like such a nice place to go to. 10/10 experience would definitely come again ?

Best salon I’ve been to in Dallas so far for Asian haircuts at a reasonable price. I’ve been to salons charging double the amount compared to here, and I honestly did not get the same level of precision and customer service found here. I’ve been trying out different salons for a year, and I think I found the one.

fantastic haircut, good price, clean store. I'm making this my regular hair cut place. I'm an old guy, just so you know. They don't just do girl's hair. I asked for a dude's haircut and I got a nice dude's haircut. I'll be back for sure.

Edit: Yes I am sure that I got my hair done at Mimi’s Salon. I got the treatment early august before school started. I already cut off the dead ends but I don’t know what to do about the part grown out from my roots since all I can do to make it look fine is go over it with a hair straightener.
I got the japanese hair straightening treatment here thinking I would get smooth, straight hair, because that is what they told me I would get but my hair was completely ruined instead! To start, they did not protect the ends of my hair at all so I was left with the driest, most crusty ends you could ever imagine. I have been wanting to grow my hair out for so long but now I cannot because I had to cut a whole two inches off when my hair already grows really slow. When they were applying the treatment to my hair part, I was trying to ask them not to brush it a certain direction because that would make it grow out weirdly but they completely dismissed me and continued to do so. Now the part of my hair that grew out is grown out weirdly and it ruins the appearance of my whole hair all due to my stylist’s inattentiveness. I don’t know if this is because of the treatment or not but there are chunks of my hair growing back in the middle of nowhere too because the treatment made my scalp hurt very badly. I worked a minimum wage job and saved for a while to get this overpriced treatment and it was a complete waste. I am very unhappy with my results and I do not recommended this treatment to anyone.

Horrible experience. Lady barely understood English and definitely lacked the experience to cut hair. They failed to follow instructions. They cut my wife’s hair shorter than what we told them. Avoid at all cost!

Very bad experience, my bangs were completely ruined and took at least three months to grow back. Ahao, the barber, doesn't listen to the customer's needs at all. I always emphasize not to thin my bangs and I don't like curly hair. He doesn't listen at all. He just does my hair according to his own ideas. My forehead is already very high, but he cut my bangs very thin and permed them crookedly. I don’t know how to go out every day, and I want to wear a hat every day. What's even more irritating is that he won't help customers solve their problems and even asks them to see a doctor. Others spent money to become beautiful, but I spent money to not only become uglier but also made myself angry.
