This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a veterinary hospital or even a vet for that matter. The staff and vet were amazing and the price spot on. I asked if I could use them as regular vet. I will be referring you guys to everyone!

Extremely disappointed and won't be back. We arrived with our lab on Labor Day after he'd had a severe seizure and what appeared to have also been a stroke according to our primary vet who assessed him 4 days later (the earliest appt available) and saw how changed he was. I called ahead to Medvet Richardson to make sure they were open due to it being a holiday, yet when we got there and was carrying a near lifeless 85 pound dog, the door was locked and nobody was in sight. They came up to the lobby a couple minutes later to open the door, but then we didn't see a doctor for the first full hour! He was not given oxygen or any meds while there, nor did they move him from the exam room or let us leave for 4 hours. Considering we could hear most everything going on around us, we're fairly certain they had very few patients and did not appear to have any pets that were critical. We also did not ever receive a follow-up call on his condition. We had just been there 7 months prior with another dog of ours that had symptoms of gastritis, which she'd had a couple times before. But she was taken straight back for oxygen and in less than 5 minutes they told me she was dead. Same location, same exam room. Again, we could hear most activity and I don't think they even saw her actually pass away. The ONLY reason we tried there again with our lab is because it was a holiday and we couldn't find another place quickly that was actually open and not terribly far away. We will not ever trust our pets there again.

We needed emergency care for my dog on a Sunday and MedVet in Richardson was open and available. I didn't even know that place existed, but we found it on Google. The lady on the phone was super nice and compassionate, and she texted me registration forms to fill out before I got there. My dog was taken back on a gurney for assessment while we finished checking in. We then were taken back to a room to see our dog and the nurse and Dr were very kind, concise, and gave options for our dog's care. I didn't even care how much the bill was going to be (I figured I'd have to take out a small loan), but was pleasantly surprised that it didn't cost an arm and a leg, or my dog's back legs (she couldn't walk when we brought her in), and were sent home with meds to help her throughout the week verses taking xrays, etc. They forgot one of the meds and my husband had to drive back and get them, and they did not call to check on my dog in the following days. Other than that, I am so grateful they were available, and oh so very kind and caring for all of us when we needed them most. Hoping I never have to go back there, I would in a heartbeat for both of my pets, and I definitely recommend them if your pet needs assistance.

If i could give ZERO stars i would, and i have used MedVet before. We thought we were bringing my step daughter’s cat in for a muscle strain and pain management. After the vet looked over her she believed it was a break somewhere but needed X-rays and would be $450+ she also understood if i wanted to call my normal vet to try and get in, which is what i did. I called the vet I use for my cats and explained the severity and they agreed to work us in provided we knew it would be a long wait. So we advised the MedVet doctor and she was ok with it. HOWEVER, the vet tech was PISSED and brought our cat back in the carrier in a vertical position so she would have been trying to sit up on the end of the carrier i stead of laying down. SHE KNEW THE CAT MOST LIKELY HAD A BREAK SOMEWHERE AND CAUSED HER MORE PAIN!!!!!! When we got to our vet, Wednesday was in so much pain she was convulsing. I am concerned what happened when they took her to the back to “examine” her and get vitals. It turned out she has a pelvic fracture. And will need surgery & 6-8 weeks recovery. DO NOT USE MED VET UNLESS YOU HAVE **ABSOLUTELY** and i mean **ABSOLUTELY** no other options.

Everyone was so nice and made my cat feel comfortable. Every step of the way during the vet visit they explained what was wrong and how they were going to treat him without feeling like it was rushed I recommend this Urgent care clinic if you have any issues with your pets.

Edit: back again! So incredibly thankful for their time and help with my 17 year old Aussie. Love this place :)
Second visit to MedVet Richardson since last November. Thank you so much for treating Charles and taking great care of him at our appointment. Highly recommend and not too expensive (:

I had to wait a few months to post this because it was still very upsetting every time I thought about it. We had to take our 14 yr old Ranger there for an emergency appointment. Unfortunately, we were given the news that he was in pain, and it was best for him to make that decision no pet parent likes to make. After a few weeks, we had still not gotten the call to come pick up his nose boop and paw prints. I called in and was told that someone had written on his file that the owner did not want anything of the pet. Then I had to wait for a manager to call me. She called and told me that it was her day off the next day, so I had to wait for her to check with the cremation place or call myself. This was after waiting a month for them to call at all. I was furious and told her it was not my job to call looking for it. I paid them to arrange. She called after her day off, and with a bunch of back and forth blame game she said the cremation place made the mistake, and nothing was saved. I asked then why did the first employee tell me what was written on the file. She brushed that under the rug. Needless to say my family was very upset. It was like reliving the day we had to put him down all over again. I told them they need a process to make sure it does not happen again. She responded they have a checks and balances protocol. Obviously, it's not a very good one. They refunded the amount of the cremation. And offered some cheesy blanket with his face on it.
Terrible experience and very little compassion or empathy.

I unfortunately had to take my cat here yesterday. We did not have a good or happy outcome. But the staff was so caring and very tender with me, while explaining everything to me and answering all my questions. They made sure to make the process as comforting as possible and allowed me as much time as I needed to take it all in and make my decisions. They are very compassionate people and i’m truly glad that they were who we ended up spending his last moments with. The consult was 91$ which is less than I thought it would be for an emergency clinic. They also worked with me on the total of everything and I ended up paying around 100 less than what they originally told me. They seem to be really good people.
