“Grant finally found a commander, General Philip Sheridan, aggressive enough to prevail in the Valley Campaigns of 1864. Sheridan was initially repelled at the Battle of New Market by former U.S. vice president and Confederate Gen. John C. Breckinridge. The Battle of New Market was the Confederacy's last major victory of the war and included a charge by teenage VMI cadets. After redoubling his efforts, Sheridan defeated Maj. Gen. Jubal A. Early in a series of battles, including a final decisive defeat at the Battle of Cedar Creek. Sheridan then proceeded to destroy the agricultural base of the Shenandoah Valley, a strategy similar to the tactics Sherman later employed in Georgia”

“Gas station is quite busy but the area is quiet. I came here 6AM getting gas and buying snacks for the work week. Traffic is hectic I must say. Overall I finally found a free pump lol ? I am on a full tank!!”

“Passed thru at 1 am for a gas fill up and pit stop for us and our furry friend. Nice pet park, but we didn't get to use it. Female attendant inside was friendly. Surprised to see eclectic items here aside from the usual convenient store snacks, souvenir Texas pride art/key chains/hats/charger accessories. Where else can you find full size flags, hologram Western and iconic star framed prints, reading glasses, hardware supplies and automotive parts at this time? Not even Walmart has this niche!”
