Power goes out a lot. If I have a storm coming in I know my power has a 50/50 chance of going out. Guess I'll have to get a generator? Affordable electric on the other hand though, just wish it wasn't like this...

My family and I have just moved onto our property and our power has gone off twice now in a short time. The first time was during a storm and they had our power up within an hour. Today,it’s so HOT and a bird ran into our power line and knocked our power out. Wood County called my husband before he could call them and they alerted we don’t have power. They had someone here to fix this and our power was resumed within 30 minutes! I would love to personally call out Eric M who was here and fixed our power so fast! My family and I would love to just say that this company is absolutely amazing compared to what we had in Canton! I don’t know why this company has a low review because everyone we know loves them . Anyways, I would just like to thank Wood County Electric for having the backs of its citizens. And then I would love to give a special thank you to Eric M who got here quick and fixed our power immediately! I have cats in this house and it got heated really quick! God bless everyone at WOOD COUNTY ELECTRIC! Sincerely, Lunceford Family

I am not sure why there so many negitive reviews of WCEC. We have a lot of trees to work with here in our great Wood county. Sure, my power goes out sometimes but thank you to the hardworking crew of linemen who always restore it in an exceptional time frame every single time! Even when I forgot to report one outage, assuming my whole block was out again, it was just me. They came to my property and had me back on within minutes!! Great work guys and exceptional rates too btw ;)

We have been with Wood County for almost 8 yrs. I will tell you this much they are a great electric company. Out of all the many storms that have came and went. My lights have always stayed on. The few times that they were off they never stayed off for long. I want to stop and thank not only the Wood County Electric. But also the linemen that keep our lights turned on. They have a hard job to keep up with the demand of so many. Thank you all for everything you all do everyday!

This was a nightmare and hellish experience during the 4 days we were recently out of power. I never expected the wood county electric to take that long to restore after the summer thunderstorm passed by. There lack of communication and slow response is without excuse. I have been through many hurricanes on the east coast and never had such a long delay for power. I'm checking into solar power to eliminate this company for good.

People should do some research before complaining . The big issue from what WCEC told me was with WCEC getting power from their provider , SWEPCO, due to a damaged SWEPCO substation. Pretty simple, if your electricity provider isn’t giving you electricity, you can’t send it on to your customers . According to the SWEPCO website they still have outages to over 80,000 customers across TX, Ark , and LA . The Wood county area seems lucky to be back on .As to constant outages , yes, when you live in a forest tree limbs fall on lines and cause damage . It’s part of living in a heavily trees area . One tech once told me they usually have 1 outage a day due to a limb taking down a line somewhere in the county . When someone can figure out how to make tree limbs stop falling on power lines they should alert WCEC as to how this can be done.

Not sure about this one yet. Purchased a home under this power authority. Power has been out 3-4 times in the past two months. One episode lasted 4 days. Certainly there has to be some sort of regulation on this right?

I'm on my cool front porch drinking coffee with my wonderful wife truly blessed that all we lost is power. Wood County Coop has always been great, thanks for all your hard work to get our a/c back on. Oh and for all you glass 1/2 empty people, when you live around trees you're going to have outages.

My parents are going on 4 days of no power! They have health problems and care for my grandmother! This is a humanitarian crisis! And could Wood County have prevented by being prepared??! I never remember the power going out for anything but ICE in the Midwest!!!!! (We have Framers Electric and our power was on in less than 24 hours!)

WCEC has gone by the wayside, adding charges onto our electric bills even as inflation eats us all up, Extra charges with no meanings, double electric bills without electric usage and our bills going out of Texas, thought the coop was for local folks, somebody sold us out and we have no recourse or competitor to sign up with. I used to admire WCEC but they're out for themselves these days, well it won't be long till I leave these scammers behind, just sorry for those who have no recourse.

Our power literally goes out 3-5 times a month. As I’m writing this right now, the power is out. This happens so much that we are having to invest in a generator. I thought Upshur rule was bad but I’d give anything to have them back lol

I say that wood county electric co., should not charge us for[ pcrf] that electric is from swebco. Wood county took it upon their self to join them in case our electric was interrupted. Did wood county ask their customers to vote on it? No they did not. We were on our own family operated electricity company. Another word, wood county was independently operated. Not no more they aren't...now we pay basically two electric bills. Who agrees with me? It is wrong of them to do this to their customers.!!! Isay we all go solar power.totally independently on our own.let them go out of buisness!$$$$$$ pcrf? They told me we have always had that charge, that is not true I have electric bills from way back it is not on there...we pay this pcrf charge even if we don't have any outages... not right ?

Very poor since winter of 2021 they started adding some extra fees to the bills which they won't explain or just get hung up on when try to call em on it or they tell me there two busy to talk, we haven't even been able to use our heat been sitting our heater temp at 65 lol and still having over 400 dollar bill when my usage ain't event 175, but they Add some other charge to each bill that is doubling the bills, we are paying double our actual usage, think everyone in charge is lining there pockets or something, surely there is laws to protect the consumers on this corrupt business practices, I've been coop members for years elsewhere and never been ripped off like this and having bills double what your actual usage is.

Tired of the price increase every year after the Cooperative rebate! Our bill increased $160.00 in one month. Little to no increase in KWH'S. Everyone needs to keep reading own meters and keep a log. Petitioning PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION
