I could not find what I was looking for and began to leave the store. As I was leaving the store, I was asked by the cashier to open my purse since she needed to see inside. I politely asked her to explain why she needed to inspect the inside of my purse. Her response was very disturbing as she stated, " We ask all people carrying large purses to open their bags. It is our new store policy." I explained that I was highly offended; her request was unreasonable and illegal without just cause.
Another customer standing in line said " I will not be back either, that is terrible ." The other customer and I spoke outside the store and agreed that Family Dollar needed to change their policy before we consider shopping there again. Family Dollar is going to lose a lot of business to their competitor Dollar General.

Hopefully they leave this store open, I do not shop at the dollar general next door they came in and tried to park on top of family dollar after they were already established. We heard they were shutting the doors in July hopefully this is not true.
