The volunteers were very rude to me, a visitor from out of town. First they told me I could not buy an item on their shelves! She grabbed it from my hands and said no! I thought this was for charity! What a bunch of control freaks! Then I set my basket on the floor under my feet because I have a sprained elbow but they didn't care and yelled at me to pick it up!! Then I stood at the jewelry case for ten minutes and was ignored. When the volunteer was finished with the customer in front of me she walked away and began chatting with people behind the counter! So rude and unprofessional! That's what you get with senior old volunteers! NOT SHOPPING THERE AGAIN! Plus it's all junk.

I love the Thrift Store! They are a great group of ladies who have welcomed me with open arms! As stated we are all volunteers and for those of us who are there from 7am to close....Yes we would like to close on time and get home to our families. Unfortunately the upset guest may have thought they had time but obviously not as 12 minutes isn't exactly enough time to see anything in the store. My apologies if you feel you were spoken to rudely but we do a regular count down every Monday starting at 4:45 so I'm sure it wasn't intentional.

To clear up any confusion the Thrift Store operated by the Woman’s Club of Pleasanton is an all volunteer organization. I have been in the club for a year now; and have never volunteered with more selfless, dedicated women. Our goal is to serve the community with reasonably priced items. We are fortunate enough to have generous donors and customers. The majority of volunteers are 70+ and the work is arduous and labor intensive. Anyone who has had a bad experience I ask that you give us another chance, and we will try to meet your expectations. I would like to thank our loyal customers who often have to stand in line, for being so gracious. We provide scholarships, support CASA, Safer Path, parks, etc.
