This store is my home away from home. I’m a Finnish expat living in Texas and I love coming here to get small snacks and treats from my country. Such a lovely place with lovely people!

A Slice of the Nordics in the Heart of Texas
This charming gift shop brings a touch of Nordic flair to the Lone Star State. Offering a selection of goods from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, The Wooden Spoon is a treasure trove for enthusiasts of Nordic and Scandinavian cultures.
The store's strength lies in its diverse range of products. From sleek home decor items to engaging books and tempting delicacies, there's something to satisfy every Nordic craving. The authenticity of the merchandise is impressive, providing a genuine taste of Northern European design and craftsmanship.
While the prices reflect the imported nature of the goods and may not suit budget shoppers, the unique offerings justify the cost for those seeking distinctive Nordic items. It's worth noting that fresh food options are limited, so don't expect a full Scandinavian grocery experience.
What truly sets Nordic Nook apart is its location. Finding such a specialized shop in Texas, far from the Nordic countries, is a delightful surprise. For local Nordic expatriates or anyone with an appreciation for Nordic culture, this store is a welcome addition to the area.
Overall, The Wooden Spoon offers a transportive shopping experience, allowing customers to explore the best of the Nordics goods without leaving Texas. It's a must-visit for those looking to add a touch of Nordic charm to their lives or find the perfect gift for a Scandinavian-loving friend.

Loved the great variety of items we've missed since moving here from up north. The homemade lefse was outstanding! Great variety of food, homemade crafts, gifts, rosemaling.
Worth the drive!

This place is such a little gem! The service is great and there is so much to see. Everyone was so kind and helpful to us. They have a great selection of Swedish candy and treats as well as some beautiful art for sale upstairs. I left super happy with my purchases and will be back!

Lots of neat Scandinavian culture and nice selection of licorice (even the salty kind). Upstairs is a small art gallery of local artists.
