Our dog Coco was on eye drops for about a year when he needed a double nucleation surgery. All the staff were super friendly and Dr. Solar did an amazing job reassuring us that Coco would do fine in surgery. Only a week and a half later, Coco is thriving and feels so much better! Big thanks to everyone can’t recommend this place enough.

Our 18 month old lab developed cataracts very quickly. VEI calmed us down, took wonderful care of our treasured pet from evaluation one through surgery and recovery. Our sweet dog is doing excellent and the doctors and staff here have been amazing.

I cannot say enough good things about the medical and administrative staff at VEI - Plano. Our beloved dog experienced a very painful detached lens condition that required immediate attention. The medical team, led by Dr. Donnelly, thoroughly explained the options to address his condition. I choose enucleation, which is a bit troubling for us humans to digest; but Dr. Donelly explained the long-term benefits and safety of this difficult choice. The staff made arrangements to perform the procedure the very next morning. I was kept informed of my beloved pet's condition throughout the day and the team thoroughly explained all post op procedures and protocols before we left.
The next day they called to check on his condition. I am sure that this is a stressful situation for most pet owners but rest assured you are in competent, professional and caring hands with VEI - Plano. An enthusiastic and very positive endorsement!

My girl has been coming here for a while now and we finally had to remove her eyes because of Glaucoma. We always have such a great experience with this office and their staff. Brooke and Laura at the front are our favorites as they always remember us and make us feel so very comfortable. Also, they’re a ton of fun to chat with.
The doctors are also great! Never have had a bad experience there and most importantly, the two surgeries we have been through, Maggie always comes out of it safely with no issues.
I debated putting this in here, but the only complaint that I have is from the tech, Jessica. My husband and I have full time jobs and being that I’m in the medical field, I can’t always answer my phone. Sometimes we have to tag team things to get it done. My husband is the primary contact person, but there are times he can’t answer because of a work call. I can assure you that we always call back in a reasonable time frame (within a few minutes). My husband was given the preop instructions, not sure by who, but was not informed to bring in our home insulin to the surgery. When I called with questions about financial information, Laura was so sweet and helpful and reminded me about the Drop off time and to stop food at 10pm the night before. It wasn’t her job to tell me about the insulin, so I want to make sure no blame goes to her. My husband was able to leave his job 45 mins away to bring the insulin back to the office. None of this would have negatively impacted our experience because I understand things happen, even though this wasn’t ideal for us to travel there again.
However, when we picked up my dog from surgery, Jessica asked “first who’s your point of contact person because we have tried to call you both a few times today.” I said sorry, but we do have jobs where sometimes we miss the call, but will call back. She responded “well I know y'all both called up here multiple times yesterday so we just get confused and for paperwork purposes we need that information”. Confused, how? If you’re doing your job correctly, then there shouldn’t be any information left out. I called ONCE for financial help and my husband called ONCE for clarification on the surgery since he was the one bringing her. It felt like an excuse and blaming us for not being told about the insulin. Just apologize for the miscommunication and let’s move on. If I want to call to make sure my husband (as busy as he is) is getting all of the information that we need, I have every right to. Second, there’s a way to handle a situation as such and talking to us that way is not it. I have had an unpleasant run in with Jessica over the phone before and it seems to be a pattern. I would never speak to my patients the way she spoke to us.
Overall, the staff is amazing and the office is beautiful, but most importantly, they take great care of my girl.

Every single person at this office clearly loves animals and loves helping them. I have never dealt with a specialist office for a pet before and wasn’t sure what to expect. They took great care in handling my dogs eye issue, explained everything they were doing and what to expect. My Roscoe recovered perfectly and I would not hesitate to take any animal to them that needed eye care.

I have come to this eye vet 3-4 times in the past year with a redundent and common case. The doctor I was seeing was great and never had an issue, her eyes would always digress as we followed the plan to lean off. I was late for the first time this visit, due to an emergency doctor appointment with my baby. After driving 45min and rushing, they turned me away for a 15minute late policy. And when I tried to offer solutions like them taking pictures at least so the new doc can review later, they refused and said I'd have to reschedule. No respect to a loyal and repeating client. I won't be coming back unless they can assist through a televisit this one time, as I am not driving back 45 min to go there (almost 2 hour road trip back and forth) . I will be looking for a new eye vet if I'm not called back to resolve this. This is In regards to Enzo on 3.26.24.

This is the third or possibly the fourth time that we have visited Dr. Donnelly. Each time, I have found this practice to be clean with very friendly and efficient front office staff. Dr. Donnelly and his technicians are patient and are all about Rex first! Dr. Donnelly explained Rex’s disease and course of actions for the future. I would recommend this establishment without any reservations.

From the gorgeous facility to all the staff it was a great experience! Brooke the receptionist made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in the door, Jessica the veterinary technician was experienced and was so sweet and patient with Boone. Dr. Donnelly was absolutely amazing with my big baby Boone who was less than thrilled with this exam taking place. They were patient, took their time, I never felt rushed, I can’t recommend this place enough!! This whole team was wonderful! Truly a special place! Worth the drive!

Dr. Soler doesn’t seem experienced with dogs and their behavior. She can only treat dogs that are under sedation and she expects you to sedate your dog each time you return to the office. Is that acceptable? Does she really want to treat your dog? Does she even like dogs? Anyone can treat a sedated dog. We should expect more from a pet specialist. I’ve been to other vets at this practice that were phenomenal. I don’t recommend Dr. Soler at all. She completely provoked my dog. Please choose another eye specialist for your dog. This woman needs to find another occupation. Dogs are not her specialty. She is Cruella de Vil.

Signed agreement that exam $210 & charged $215 because they forgot to update paperwork. Brooke would not honor my agreement. The next day, I received a call checking on my dog. I asked for the office manager's name & to have her call me back. Office Manager Kayla, called me back later in the day. I requested to be credited $5.00 based on the signed contract agreement and she complied. This office mileu is beautiful & Dr. Soler was professional & courteous.
