My experience there was bad, especially because the management is very despotic. Furthermore, the price is very high for the conditions of the apartment, that is, they tell you a price before and then add other expenses that are not included. It's okay, they don't tell you all at once. You think they are$2000 but you actually pay $200 more than you pay. So they are not clear. On the other hand, the air conditioning duct drips from the ceiling of the bathtub and it is horrible if that drip is thrown away, it also stains the bathtub and generates humidity. The kitchen cabinets are not in good condition. In general it is very expensive for what it represents. As for the Manager, Jesús is an excellent person and is always willing to help. In my opinion, he is an excellent worker and I have no complaints about him. Our thanks to him. The rest of the staff is honestly unpleasant and my experience was horrible; Having just moved, they took my things out of the mailbox, I lost valuable correspondence, such as my driver's license, checks and others, without the management doing anything to solve the situation. I do not recommend them for living, looking for other options is what I suggest but if for some reason you want to try I just say be careful and ask for everything to be clarified before signing the contract. Unless they change the management and install one that is more humane and respectful.

I rarely write reviews but this has to be said: everything you are being shown and told on The Ellington promotions and website is completely inaccurate, totally misleading.- The website lists maybe a dozen “apartment features”, only a few of which are true for all apartments here. Many do NOT have wood plank flooring, built-in desks, bay windows, quartz countertops, brushed nickel hardware, double vanities, etc.- Yes, there are dishwashers, a microwave, and W/D connections, but what apartment complex doesn’t have those?!The rents listed on the website and presented to you when you visit are also incorrect.- No matter the rent or unit, ALL Residents are required to pay an additional $142.00 in what they call CAM fees. There are no exceptions. If rent is listed at $1,800, it’s actually $1,942.- This started when S2 Management took over 2 years ago; it was never something Residents were required to pay before.- The CAM fee is said to cover Fetch package collection service (they finally got rid of it recently but didn’t remove the cost); The gym (see above); trash pickup (inconsistent at best); and pest control (I have seen multiple roaches and if I want them to come spray, I have to call and ask for it – it is not something they appear to do regularly).Note the “amenities” listed, too.- The “clubhouse” is merely the management team’s office space. It is not a place anyone would hang out in.- the “Wi-Fi café” is a room with Wi-Fi. There are no computers, no printers, nothing that could pass for a business or working center. Again, it’s a room with Wi-Fi.- The pool is fine when cleaned and working but it is in no way a “resort style”. The lounge chairs were replaced last summer and they have no cushions! They get scolding hot in the summer and when asked about it, the staff said Residents needed to deal with the hard surface and heat generated; there would be no cushions made available.- The “dog park” is a small square that until recently was a mud pit with no rocks, grass, or place to sit.- The “24-hour maintenance” used to live on-site, but no longer do. So, it’s not 24-hour maintenance, it a call line to leave a message.- The “yoga room” is a strip of laminate flooring in the gym not big enough for 2 adults to lie down in. It is in no way a space for yoga, and none of the televisions in the gym work, or ever have.Regarding the gym,- The gym and front office were under construction for months and months but when re-opened, the gym received ZERO upgrades The only updates made were to the management staff’s working area.- The Residents were required to continue to pay the gym fee even though it could not be used for many months.- The gym has been properly cleaned maybe twice since re-opening 6 months ago. The same Skittles, crushed cookies, and dirty paper towels have been sitting in the same spots on the gym floor for months. I am not exaggerating.- Parts of some equipment are broken. This includes the only bench (missing a while to move it around with). Also, one side of the free-standing/multi-use piece of equipment has been broken for 6+ months so you cannot do any 2-handed exercises.- Some weights are missing/have never been replaced.- None of the TVs work, or ever have.- The disinfectant dispenser doesn’t work either. This complex was once beautiful, light, well-kept, and run smoothly and kindly; Then S2 bought it and everything has plummeted. S2 is a huge conglomerate that has no concern for the Tenants and is actively dishonest and unethical. I encourage you to do a quick Google search of reviews of S2. They are terrible. Understand that the location is great but it is not worth the low quality, shoddy work, and unethical business practices. I wish it was because I used to love living here.

I have lived here for about 4 years now and I can say that the management now is the best it has ever been! I used to have so many problems with the office that I was very very close to finding some place to live. 8 months ago I went to the office to turn in my 60-day notice and I met the new property manager Destiny. She took her time to explain to me that she was in the process of hiring a new Assistant Manager and that the property would be better. I decided to stay and I am so glad I did. The Assistant DJ has come in and I have seen nothing but improvements. I used to wait weeks for simple maintenance requests like a leaky faucet and now they get handled in a timely fashion. Calling up to the office used to be a pain because no one would answer and it was like the office would be closed at random times of the day. Now that Destiny and DJ had taken over, I have none of these issues. These women are about business and I am extremely happy that I decided to stay and give them a chance.

This place had been wonderful when it was Marquette apartment. I was so happy that found this place to call home when moving to TX from CA, but things have gone down very much since the new owner took over. All they care about is money. They have raised the rent so much, it cost over $600 monthly more but the service is really awful. The management is really sucks. They have barely responded email but have sent notice to residents about policies reminder stuffs with the warning that they will charge the fees if you dont follow. And be careful if you forgot to pay the rent on time, there are stupid expensive fees will added in your account that you would ever have with many other apartments, they will charge late fee, administration fee,. I know money is the first priority of a business but this corporate they really did so much instead of improving service to the residents. I believe business ethics are very important in the long term. Everyone needs to do research before you can sign the contract with them. There are many places around cheaper but better than. It isn't really worth your money. I regretted for the place that I was so proud and felt comfortable to live there over 5 years.

The roof cannot be repaired despite the new owner's stringent waste management policies. There was a leak in my bedroom roof during May's rain, which was fixed. However, in July, the same spot and the adjacent ceiling fan leaked again and were repaired once more.In October, water once again leaked in the identical locations. Furthermore, two additional leaks were discovered, one of which was a smoke alarm that blared at 02:45 AM. Despite reporting the issue(4 leaks) for repairs, no action has been taken thus far, rendering the room unfit for use.Another application has been submitted as I fear the roof may collapse from the unrepaired leaks during the upcoming rain. The management and repair personnel change constantly, maybe making it difficult for them to determine who is responsible for what. This is our fresh approach, hoping it appeals to everyone.

They never pick up the phone. Ive called them 3-5 times to ask a simple question and sent to voicemail every time. They also threaten eviction or fines/penalties if you don't pay rent on the first (even a weekend or holiday when banks are closed). They threaten fines if you don't let them in your home for maintenance during work hours even though most people don't work from home. If you have an appliance issue, you're now a part of the maintenance crew as they'll leave and let you do the maintenance while they do something else.Garages can't fit an suv, only cars. The best days are when you don't have to contact them for anything.

I love living here.• Even tho the self declare as ‘Pet-friendly’ The first year lease Housing Management Team has flipped 3 times, so I have had to continually resubmit the documents to have my dog deemed ‘approved’. Mean mile they’ve let 1 of the 2 trees in the small ‘dog park’ die and have replaced the muddy grass for orange cat litter….•Rent has increased 10% in 12 months. During which, 2 months the club house and gym were unavailable due to updates (nothing was actually done to the gym, it was just closed). Meanwhile the ground (including all the way up to the front door) were splatter-painted when they repainted everything.•The ‘security gates’ (2 front, one rear) have never worked.BUT: great, quiet neighborhood. Great access to GBT and NDT. Shopping for home, pet, drug store, and convenience stores all within walking distance. Nearby are gyms, restaurants, and bars too.

I turned in key to apartment 5/31/23. Last official day of my lease was 6/6/2023. I still continue to receive a monthly water/utility bill sent to my email address. The most recent bill I received was 9/18/23. I’ve been in contact with the Manager every month and she tells me to disregard. I went ahead and called the utility bill company per number on invoice and they told me I could not close the account and the leasing office themselves were supposed to do it. But I personally gave the manager of Ellington my key upon move out 5/31/23 and in contact every month about billing statements since then but still no change. I won’t be surprised if they don’t respond to my review because there is nothing they can say really. I hate to use the word incompetence but that is what I see here.

I was a resident here for well over a year, and one thing I must say, is that the floor plans/architecture is unlike any complex within the Plano area. Everything about these units are very unique and aesthetically pleasing. For example, I had one of the units with a multi-floor plan. What was appealing to me about this type of floor plan, is the fact that you don’t feel as cramped as you normally would feel inside of a regular apartment. Multi level floor plans WITH an attached garage is impossible to find except here. The only drawback to this would be the many, many stairs. Aside from the cleanliness from all of the renovating and the apartments being in such a key area of Plano, the main thing that I enjoyed the most was the staff. The staff from the maintenance men all the way to the property manager are all exceptional at what they do. Destiny is extremely down to earth and is always willing to accommodate and help out any of her residents. I’d continue living there had I not had some unexpected life changes occur.

I am a big fan of the Ellington and lived here for a year up to last month. I was impressed at how well the space is used in the apartments. Very nice floorplans. I went with one that has an attached garage and I loved it. The location can't be beat if you value being close to shopping centers and restaurants. It's also super close (~5 min drive) to a world class climbing gym which I valued highly. The area felt safe to me and neighbors seemed nice although mostly kept to themselves. The biggest highlight of all for me was the staff. In particular DJ (Dejonae) went above and beyond to be helpful and make me feel welcomed and like I belonged in the community.

There is always a lot of dog poop every. When I’m out walking with my family to the pool I can smell the poop that’s in the grass and in the poop station. None of the poop stations are being maintained frequently enough. The staff in the office refused to come up with a plan to make sure that this dose not happen. They instead told my wife “if you don’t help us catch find the pet owners responsible for leaving the poop then we can’t catch because we don’t have time either” The office staff was not helpful at all and they minimized the issue. Also the pool is not clean. I tried to take my family swimming last week and there was broken class and glass bottle by the entrance of the pool, there was lots of trash and dirt in the pool, and there was poop that you could smell by the walk way. Last, but not least they closed down the office and gym for months to remodel. They were suppose to remodel the gym but they didn’t. Or at least that’s what the staff said before the remodel happened. Not one new piece of equipment. They didn’t even replace the old dirty filthy yoga mats. They are missing handles for the cable machine and more. I mean that’s just unacceptable to me. I hope they can find a way and be creative in fixing these issues.
