I absolutely love this gym, great staff, incredible equipment, and an overall positive environment. Best gym i've ever worked out at.

Be careful before signing contracts with them or buying training sessions. They sold me a bunch of training sessions when I first joined to get a better deal but didn't tell they'd expire if not used in a certain time frame. I had to request they be reinstated by calling corporate. Couldn't do it at the club. In the end I paid for sessions I never used. Then when I wanted to cancel my membership I had to go in person or send a certified letter. They kept charging my card on file each month automatically. When I switched cards the monthly fees, late fees and annual membership fees kept accruing -- but I didn't know it until I got a collections letter from a law firm representing them. BE CAREFUL. Easy to sign up. Not so easy to cancel.

Nice gym with a huge variety of equipment. The gym is never overcrowded which is a pulse. I've rarely had to wait for a piece of equipment to use. Most importantly the gym, especially the men's bathroom always clean!!!

Extremely dissatisfied I tried to cancel. I had to send a letter to the corporate office and they told me that I couldn't cancel until my year was up when I don't even have a contract with them my old gym golds, Got sold out to them. How can I not cancel when I don't even have a contract with Texas family fitness. Don't recommend at all!

Family Fitness is an absolute great place. Today we came to check it out and by looking at it, this is a place where you can find peace and calmness. They have absolute great costumer service for example Alexis the general manager attended us very well , and if you were to ever to come to Family Texas fitness I’d recommend to sign in with him because he has a very amazing personality and is very patience with others.

I've been going to this gym for about a year now and I've had a trainer during that time, Mitchell. He's always given me the proper instructions with every exercise, and with him personally it's like having your bro there with you, so it's just great. The actual gym itself is run well by the manager Alexis in my opinion, and keeps every person going to the gym informed about what new things are going on, updates on plans and pricing, etc.Just a good all around gym to go to with people who only want to help others reach their goals.

Please read this post if you are considering a membership at TFF.My wife and I have been loyal customers since the fall of 2015, and have gone to the Plano, Allen, and Garland locations. The staff has always been very friendly, and we thought that it was a good value for the money (we have also been members of LA Fitness and Lifetime). However, during COVID, we found out just how difficult it was to suspend or cancel memberships, and how they use this tactic to steal money from their members. They require you to make any changes to your account in person...which was impossible during the lockdown, so for 3 months we were charged membership fees, and when the gyms opened back up, we were firmly told that there were no refunds. Now, earlier this year, we moved, and since another gym was more convenient, we (wife and I) cancelled our membership (individually, in person, as required), and thought everything was done. A month later, we noticed the charges on our credit cards, so called and asked why, and were told that they had "no record of cancellation, and my account was suspended instead of cancelled". So again, we went in person to cancel everything, and were told that "everything is cancelled and you're all set!".Fast forward 4 months and we're still in the same situation, STILL having to pay monthly dues, and we just found out that our son (who is a minor) just had his "unpaid dues" sent to collections even though none of us were contacted or even aware that he had a separate account (vs a member of our accounts). To be clear: none of us have been in a TFF location since May.So, customer beware: if you plan on joining TFF, make sure you never plan on leaving!

Don't ever believe the discount sales pitch from the so-called managers here. At first I came here and their front desk manager person told me it would only cost me $10 a month, then they deducted me $20, which I thought was reasonable, but then I saw a 59 bill on my phone app, and before it was even deducted I asked that manager what this 59 was, and he said don't worry about it, I have a discount so it won't CHARGE me, and by the time a month had passed they CHARGED me $59, I went to the gym to talk to them to clear it up but that manager didn't acknowledge the fact that he told me I didn't need to pay the $59 and told me that the $59 was an annual fee that everyone needs to pay. What I feel bad about is not that I need to pay the annual fee, but the fact that they didn't tell me about this money when I got my membership, but they CHARGED me three times without my knowledge, which makes me feel like it's a setup and it's a ploy on their part. I took the membership with my friends and she had the same trouble but she said we didn't videotape or sign a contract and had to admit it.If you have experienced being scammed the same way please contact me and maybe we can do something together.

I've been a member of this branch for a year now, and during that time, I've found their equipment and maintenance to be quite satisfactory. The overall environment is decent, and the standout feature is their kid's club, which is a great perk for parents. However, there has been a recent change in management, resulting in a significant turnover of staff. It's important to be cautious as the new management appears to prioritize revenue over customer satisfaction.I had initially signed up for a personal training program, but due to its high cost, I requested to cancel it. They suggested freezing my enrollment instead. Unfortunately, after six months without any prior notification, they resumed charging my credit card. I only noticed this after a few months had passed, and when I asked for a refund, the manager denied my request, even for the most recent month. This experience has been quite disappointing.

Yeah I think I'm done with this location for a while. I'll share my story... take it as a "heads up"... or not. Today (9/27/23 at 9am), I'm leaving from my workout. Directly outside the door (first or second parking spot to the left), there's a white Dodge van with the passenger side window rolled down halfway. I notice a female backpack on the passenger seat. I immediately go back in to let someone know. The guy that sits at the first desk (the very first desk on the left) looks up at me. I tell him what I observed. His response (nonchalantly), "Yeah I'm not sure who drives that vehicle and we don't have an intercom system." He goes back to what he's doing. Ok... I get it. He has a job to do. He's not responsible for what happens in the parking lot. He's got "numbers" and sales objectives to meet. Whatever makes sense in his mind and the mind of others that think like him. For me... what happened to decency? Customer service? Giving a damn about the customers that are there to keep your lights on? This place was NOT crowded. We're talking (maybe) 10-15 people in the entire gym(?).... Was it asking too much to get up and ask a few folks if they drive the vehicle? The backpack must have belonged to a woman... so that kind of narrows down the search a bit. And I supposed some smartass is reading this and saying,"Well why couldn't YOU ask around?" I did. I tried. My wife was in the car. I went back in to report the problem. I asked a few folks in the cardio area. I had to leave. This would have a been a great opportunity for him to get up, get to know a few folks, at least create the perception that he's "concerned", and I MIGHT create a different perception that he's not at his desk to only "drum up business". Let's face it... if you have to talk to a desk person, it's likely for them to sell you something. If you're not trying to buy a membership, upgrade a membership, or get a trainer- they're not interested in talking to you. For me... I don't know what happened where we lost our way in terms of decency. I don't know where this SHIFT started where employees stopped going the extra mile because of liabilities, lawsuits or whatever. Back in my day (at least prior to 2010), people worked places and actually gave a damn about their jobs and the customers. The concept of going "above & beyond" does not apply in today's world of business. If people are still asking this question to prospects in interviews, they need to just STOP. In addition, this location could use an update. It's got a late 80's/ early 90's feel to it. And let's be honest... that "blue" color (inside the facility) needs to GO. The bathrooms never have paper towels. The areas (where paper towels are supposed to be) are always out of paper towels. The second floor is just lacking. There's 8-million smaller rooms they're doing nothing with. They need to remove the walls and gut out the rooms (open up the space) or repurpose the rooms for fitness education or private rooms for training sessions. The whole place needs an overhaul. If you dig Texas Family Fitness... try the location on Coit & Campbell.

These idiots apparently decided to try and charge an old card for months after I changed my payment method. Now they are sending me to collections for $134. Trying to ruin my credit for basically pocket change. Avoid these scumbags at all costs.

Been going to this gym for a couple of years. The equipment is very diverse and well kept. The front desk team is very helpful and friendly, in particular Sebastian is outstanding and has always helped me with any questions or concerns I have had.

I am very impressed with the quality of the gym equipment and offered fitness classes like cycle, yoga and Pilates. Also Noah Sears at the front desk is the person to ask questions too. He has been very patient and kind when advising and looking up membership details for me.

Shady business. They kept charging my account long after I canceled my membership. Called customer service over 10 times before I finally got someone who said, "I don't know, I'm new". Tried to speak with the club manager but he just gave me a number to call. Even after saying himself, "You shouldn't have been charged ". Read all the other 1 star comments to realize how this is common this is and if you run into this issue like most people have... GOOD LUCK!

This is not a customer-first Gym, so be careful. I encountered a situation similar to the person who posted a review on 4/17/23. I was charged for personal training, but in my case, they couldn't provide the service due to a lack of available trainers. I waited months to get a trainer, and when I asked for a refund because the service couldn't be delivered, they refused to refund my money. I'm puzzled about how they can charge for something they can't provide. I attempted to contact their headquarters, but my calls went unanswered. After five months and several letters, they eventually responded, offering to provide the training but refusing to issue a refund. By that time, I no longer required their services. Also, if you tell the staff you cancel, they will tell you they cancel your membership, but they dont. I was charged for several months after I canceled. Again, I tried to resolve that issue, and they would not refund me even though their employee confirmed I canceled.
