Kent at Longhorn has made our solar panel experience seamless and enjoyable. He is very knowledgeable and spent time explaining the entire process in great detail, so there weren't any surprises along the way. He continues to support us even now, a year later, when we needed to change our solar energy plan to ensure we continue to get the best deal. If you're like us, and have been shopping around and thinking about getting solar panels, do it and go with Longhorn Solar!

The absolute worst project management company I have ever worked with in my life. The installers were good but everyone else is utterly incompetent. Good luck getting someone to respond to an email. You have to send about 4-5 emails to get them to apologize and then still not do anything. If you use them set up and email template that says "following up again" because you will be sending that message A LOT.

We are interested in solar energy device for our house. After many interviews with various solar companies, we finally settled with Longhorn Solar company who has solid business history, excellent service and reasonable price offered.Kent Arnold, Account Manager in Dallas, is very knowlegeable and resourceful in the solar business. He has presented the panel layout to fullfil our needs, answered our questions patiently. He always responded our emails/phone calls timely, and best of all, his after sale service is marvelous. After the solar system went live, Kent has provided/introduced the solar buy back plans from various power companies, he recommended good deals when it came up, he made sure we won't miss the 30% tax credit from the Federal and filing exemption from appraisal district office for the solar system. Thanks Kent. We are very pleased with our investment.

I would not use or recommend this company for the simple fact that they can not even return calls or provide a quote for someone who is looking to install solar panels. If they are like that before getting your business how would they be after they got their money?

My panels were installed two years and the inverter stopped working six-seven weeks ago. First service call was completed two weeks to replace it and it's not working. The second appt was cancelled via email and I cannot get the admin or the manager on the phone. Now the next appt is in two weeks (a total of 8-9 week from the initial call) and I don't feel confident if it won't be cancelled. The panels are generating energy (which is why I got the panels) but I can't use it and I have an electric vehicle. This is frustrating because the equipment is still underneath warranty.

Everything went smoothly regarding the purchase and installation of the panels, however the post installation support is what gets these guys 5 stars. I received an incorrect tax bill from my county for the panels and when I called Longhorn just trying to get some information, they went ahead and dealt with the whole thing, including calling various county offices several times over several days in order to resolve the issue. That level of customer service is frankly pretty astounding and really shows these guys care about their customers. I'd highly recommend them and will be using them in the future if I decide to expand my installation.

I first started considering it in 2017, and got quotes from Longhorn and one other installer. The rep from Longhorn was very gracious and detailed with her quote, and though she did try to use sales tactics to get me to sign, she did not push hard. She respected my caution as I had only moved to my house a year earlier, and had other debts to worry about. They checked in on me periodically to see where I was at in my decision making, but it was literally only once or twice a year. In fact, this year it was me who reached out to them first to get a new quote. As stated by others, customer service is indeed outstanding. I was contacted by one of the higher-ups within the company named Bryan, and he personally walked me through multiple layout proposals, as well as explaining the process of installation, from start to finish. Even after I signed, both he and my assigned project manager Kelli held my hand through the process, answering all of my questions as soon as they could. They did a good job at keeping me up to date on permit acquisitions, scheduling the date of install, and getting city approval to operate the array. As you can see in the attached pictures, the actual installers weren't half bad either. They came in right on time, and within just three hours, they had everything up and running beautifully. I had to wait an agonizing three weeks for the city utility to do a required meter replacement and system test to operate, but it was worth the wait. Not gonna lie, seeing that meter moving backwards as the array overproduced was a good feeling to say the least.I have one particular critique with the process on Longhorn's end of it. I don't know if it was because of what was written down when my property was scoped out for project prep, or a mistake done in their layout planner software, but the installers noticed that the roof of my garage was larger than they were led to believe. The two panels you see by themselves are on the north face (the least efficient face to put panels on), and the original plan was to have four of them lined up there. Thankfully, the field team lead made a quick phone call, and with my thumbs up, they were able to squeeze two more panels on the east and west faces, boosting my guaranteed energy offset to 98%. Though I'm happy this fix was made in real-time, the fact that it took the installers noticing that on their own is a bit disconcerting. This is why I take off a star, and my suggestion to you guys is make sure that the people in the offices know the exact measurements of your roof. Also remember to have the installers double-check to see if those measurements line up with what they were told.Overall, I had a very good experience, and if the service they provided me isn't unique, I don't think you'll go wrong with them. They're not perfect, but no contractor ever is.

They contacted me after so long of no communication apparently they closed there Dallas office and did not inform anyone therefore all installations were in limbo. I finally got a phone call and they did not seem to care about anything other than money they offered me minor compensation for inconvenience. They offered to come out to complete commissioning I informed them they are not welcome on my property because of all installation issues. I would not use them again and having the inverter access they have revoked so I have access to it and they will not have access to it. I would never allow them back on my property I will handle warranty because they will not respond with out a service charge when they emailed me they stated 120 dollar fee for service calls. So I will never ever deal with them again.

Going back the first time they contacted me, I remember a very friendly and light hearted conversation. We joked because I'm an Aggie that I don't know if I can have any association with anything "Longhorn" related. Mary and her team are great. They made me feel welcome and they never pressured me about anything. When I wanted to change things up a little with seeing the specs on a different system size they were responsive and helpful. I highly recommend them. They don't have a big presence yet, so Let them know if this review helped you if you decide to reach out and go with Longhorn Solar. Chris S

Excellent customer service, Lisa Youngman is friendly and very knowledgeable of their products. She went out of her way to help me as I researched our options. Will definitely be using Longhorn when we are ready to install our solar backup battery!
