This past week, I was dealing with low tire pressure and went to Discount Tire on 121 & Custer, hoping for an honest assessment and solution. Instead, the service advisor was rude and insistent that I needed new tires, claiming it wasn’t safe to drive on them. Before I knew it, he quoted me $750 for a set of four, saying they were all too old.
I asked if he could offer a better price, and he confidently claimed it was cheaper than Costco. However, when I mentioned that Sam’s Club had quoted me almost 40% less, he suddenly offered to match the price—but only if I placed a deposit and waited two days. Upon closer comparison, the tires weren’t even the same. So, I decided to go to Sam’s Club instead.
The service advisor at Discount Tire seemed annoyed that I had “wasted” his time and left without purchasing anything. But here’s the kicker—at Sam’s Club, they checked my tires thoroughly by submerging them in water and found no punctures or issues. The technician said the tires still had life left in them and suggested that the seal might have been slightly loose but was fine now.
It’s been four days, and I’ve had no problems since. Moral of the story: don’t take everything at face value—always get a second opinion

The service I received here was unacceptable.
On Tuesday 3/25, I went in with an appointment at 5:15 and was helped by James. I needed to have my tire checked out, along with tire balance and rotation. The tire was torn through the side so it needed replacement, but James told me they did not have my tire in their inventory. I was given the choice to go a different Discount, but since they close at 6, and they had already started the tire rotation and balance service, I wouldn’t make it in time. They gave me a temporary used tire for the time being, while James ordered me another tire. He said the tire would arrive by the next day on Wednesday and so I made another appointment, JUST for a tire change, on Thursday 3/27 at 4.
Walked in at 3:51 and was told they would have my car out and ready before 5. I regularly checked the online tracker to see the status of my car, which said my car would be ready at 4:51.
At 5, my car was still not ready. At 5:06, the tracker said service was complete and my car was being bayed out. Kept looking, but saw no signs of my car being ready.
I asked them at 5:19, if my car was ready yet, they said they were still working on it and would be done in about 20 minutes.
After 25 minutes passed, I went to ask again. That was when they told me they did not have the tire in their inventory. Contradicting to what James told me on Tuesday, saying the tire would arrive Wednesday.
They had sent one of their guys to a neighboring Discount to get a tire and that he had just come back to start the tire change.
So I had waited 2 hours before they started any type of service on my car. Not a single person came up to let me know about the situation and I was only aware after my THIRD time asking and waited TWO hours. Left at 5:55.
Before I left, Jose gave me $50 credit for compensation. However, this did not amount to the time I waited, given that I was waiting with no knowledge or updates during my two hours here.

Wow, this location or maybe all of Discount Tire upper management need to rethink what they are training their staff with on focusing more on sales than making deals happen. I've been going to Discount Tire since 2001 and they were always honest and didn't upsale, but now since Covid, they always try to upsale you with the sentence "We have to do this or we cant work on your vehicle". I don't think this is smart for Discount Tire. They could have had a $400 sale but wanted to make $500 with the added stuff that I didn't want to do so they supposedly couldn't work on my car. Give me a break. The spare hasn't been used since 2008 and doubt it ever will, but they "must" include it.

I went in to repair a nail stuck in the tire of my brand new Tesla (1 week old) with only 300 miles on it. After waiting for over 2 hours, the mechanic said my car was ready and told me that the cold weather caused my tire pressure to be low so they just put more air in it. When I asked if there were any problems plugging the nail hole, he was puzzled and told me that he didn’t see any nail in my tire, even though the guy in the front desk and I went out to my car and I showed him the nail. The mechanic apologized and said he it would only take him about 15 mins to plug the nail hole. He returned short time later and told me that the hole was too big to plug, and that I would need to buy a new tire. They didn’t have the exact tire, so he recommended I buy 2 tires that were very similar to the Tesla tires because it’s not good to have 2 different tires, or I could order the exact tire and come back to install it for $517. I told him to order the tire and they charged me $25 deposit to order it. I was quite surprised and disappointed that they couldn’t just plug it, so I decided to get a second opinion at a different tire store. To my surprise, they told me that it wouldn’t be any problem and plugged the nail hole for $23. When I asked if there were problems with the hole being too big to plug, and they said the screw was only about 4mm so wasn’t a problem at all. I was shocked and disappointed that Discount Tire tried to get me to spend $500 to replace a brand new tire instead of just plugging it! I went there because my brother-in-law highly recommended it for their friendly service (and he was right, everyone there was super nice and friendly), but to mislead me and tell me that the hole couldn’t be plugged and to try to get me to buy a new tire is extremely disappointing and shameful. If anyone else has a similar situation, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting what the guys at Discount Tire tell you. Truly disappointing experience from a group of really friendly people working there.

Had to wait even though I had scheduled an appointment. They could not help me with my problem but not their fault. Just not a service they provide.
Most importantly…. The young man that did wait on me was super polite and extremely professional. Definitely recommend them for your tire needs (other than being pretty expensive)
I would definitely recommend and will be returning !

Quality check not good. Tire pressure was not set right. I do understand mistakes happen but accepting the same is better.

Most of the staff was nice and professional; except, an employee named Andrew who was sexist. I needed an older model spare tire aired up. One of the front desk guys said it could be aired up after looking at the tire itself. Andrew was working the air station, and after hearing the explanation of needing air he said he couldn't do it because the tire was over 10 years old. I told him the front guy said he could. Andrew grabbed the tire, went into the shop, and came out saying he aired it up. He said he aired it up to 60 psi. Now, I might be a woman, but I'm not stupid and I have a tire pressure gage. After checking it myself, the tire was only aired up to 40 psi. It's an older spare tire, so I'm fine with the 40 psi, but don't lie to me just because I'm a woman. There was no need to lie and be sexist! I've never had that issue at any other Discount Tire before.

Went in to get 4 wheels replaced.
Come to find out, they kept my wheel log lock. Funny I had to find out stranded on the side of the freeway. Instead of a quick tire change I had to go on an adventure to buy a new wheel lug lock.
The best part: when I called to ask if they had it, I was kept on hold for 30 minutes with no answer. I ended up buying a new one for $30.
Who knew in 2024 companies fail to do simple things like putting stuff back where you find it XD

I really really really( nightmare) had a bad experience this times. I went to do the tire rotation and balance for my car on Sept. 28, 2024.(Saturday)And you guys messed up 5 of my wheel studs and nuts on RF. So I couldn’t pick my car and couldn’t drive. One of discount tire assistant manager told me to use my car insurance to tow my car to brakes plus to fix my wheel studs. I told him no. So You guys( discount tire) called a tow truck and took my car to brakes plus. While I was there with a tow truck driver. a brakes plus told me that they had to order parts so it’s not going to be ready until Monday. Because I didn’t have a car. I had a nightmare because I had to ask my friend to give me a ride to work on Sunday. also, I asked my daughter to ride to brakes plus to pick up my car on Monday. I hope that a discount tire didn’t screw up my other 3 tires wheel studs.
