It was time to replace some furniture this year, and I decided it was time to buy a leather recliner. I wanted leather because I have cats and tbh, I prefer the ease of cleaning leather with furballs in the house! After not being able to find a comfortable, smaller one that I felt was built well elsewhere, I searched Texas Leather Furniture and saw their reviews, so popped in one day around Labor Day to check them out. They have a smaller section with several styles of single control recliners that are comfortable, attractive and appear well-made, but as someone with fussy lumbar arthritis, I wasn't crazy about the mechanics of the motor, so I looked at the custom order ones which are only slightly more expensive. This is the first time I've custom ordered furniture, and it was fun! I found a manufacturer I liked and chose the back, seat, footrest and arms as individual items to fit my short legs, but make sure I had room to fit a cat in the seat with me. They had enough design options within the line I was able to match the armrests, and closely match the color of the sofa I have which was important to me for aesthetics. As someone who's older and sometimes needs to accommodate different fussy joints, I went for the 3 separate controls - legs, lumbar and neck - and the glider and swivel foundation, expecting I'd use them all. I have! It's really nice not having to use pillows to get comfortable, and I really love the glider feature when I'm watching tv or playing with the cats at night. The swivel feature has been a huge benefit in my small living since it lets me rotate the chair 1 direction to chat with company, and spin it a different direction to stretch out and rest - even a wall hugger recliner couldn't have fit that need as well. It took a few weeks to get it, as others have said. it's custom furniture, so no surprises there. The delivery team was very professional, neat, careful not to damage any of my furniture as they carried the recliner through the house, cleaned up after themselves, and even helped me get gliders under the recliner so I could easily move it when I changed my mind on its ideal location. Gilbert and Lance are really nice, patient, considerate and knowledgeable salespeople. I worked with Gilbert, he was able to give me details on the materials used in the manufacturing process: birch wood and metal springs, if I remember correctly. Honestly, these guys' demeanor and the quality of their furniture may make their store my first stop for future furniture purchases!

we walked in just wanting to compare prices to what we had already considered elsewhere. Be sure to ask for Gilbert! I can not say enough great things about Gilbert's product knowledge, customer service, or sincere investment in your happiness. He is simply terrific. There are so many more possibilities than what is on the floor and Gilbert gets involved in mapping all of them to your preferred comfort and aesthetic taste. He's respondent, salutory, and creates customers-for-life. Any business would be lucky to have him, and it was truly a pleasure letting him help us find our "forever couch". Spent about 3 hours with the store manager, Lance. He understood our needs and facilitated our decision making. After 4 or 5 unsuccessful visits to stores where they didn't hear us, we were able to place our order. Beautiful store.

Awesome customer service! We were greeted by Gilbert with a big smile and very welcoming. Gilbert was very helpful as well as knowledgeable about the leathers and products. He was patient and answered all my questions and let us take as much time as we needed to decided. It was a pleasure working with him and loved that he cared about giving his customers the best service possible.

These guys were great until they weren't. They heavily pushed a warranty derived that covered "anything" according to the pitch. We spent $6000 on a high end leather sofa and when 6 months or so into actually having it in our home (took 20 weeks to get, which is what it is) we had some scratches on the leather. I called the store to ask for next steps, he told me how to contact the 3rd party (which was not really clear because he was hardcore selling the benefits of the package primarily) and even told me how to word my claim to maximize chance of approval. At that point I kinda knew it was gonna be rough. They denied my claim, I appealed and they denied again citing a section from their agreement. It is partly my responsibility but the shady tactics of the salesmen and coaching for "how to claim" are reasons I will not trust them again. For the most part, my recommendation here is to NOT buy that warranty plan. Otherwise, the quality is decent.Here's the response from the warranty company:*** ...you may refer to your plan agreement regarding the applicable exclusion under Section Three (3) "What is Not Covered", Letter "V", which states: "V) COLOR LOSS OR CRACKING AND PEELING ON ANY LEATHER OR VINYL, SPLITS ON BI-CAST LEATHER, SPLIT LEATHERS USED IN SEAT CUSHIONS, BACK CUSHIONS OR TOP OR INSIDE ARM AREAS, NATURAL MARKINGS ON LEATHER, SUCH AS HEALED SCARS, INSECT BITES, BRAND MARKS OR WRINKLES, LEATHERS WITH EMBOSSED PATTERNS OTHER THAN THOSE SIMULATING NATURAL COWHIDE, NON-BOVINE LEATHERS, SUEDE, NUBUCK AND OTHER BUFFED LEATHERS, SURFACE SCRATCHES IN LEATHER FINISH;" Based on the nature of the damage, as well as the above referenced exclusion, the denial is valid and will remain the final decision on this claim. Please note, this decision is not disputable and any further communications regarding this specific claim will be unlikely to receive a response.***

We have purchased a couple of pieces from Lance and he made it easy. His product knowledge is top notch and he is fun to chat with. The pieces we have bought have been as advertised and even made it to our doorstep in the half the expected lead time. We will always hit up Texas Leather first for any furniture or decor needs.

Whew, there are a TON of furniture stores in the Austin area. But you know what most of them don't have? Texas Leather Interior's Manager, Chris Hooks. My husband and I spent about 20+ hours visiting and evaluating furniture stores and their offerings as we shopped for a sofa for our new home. After an eye-numbing number of heavy sales tactics and viewing a ton of questionably 'high grade leather' sofas, we found ourselves comparing each new experience to the low pressure and (unfortunately very rare) valuable sales assistance provided by Chris during our visit to his store. Yes, Chris wanted to sell us a couch, but it was also evident that he wanted to ensure we made the RIGHT purchase for us. He provided a plethora of education and detail (leather types, construction, etc.) so that we had all the info needed to make the best choice for our needs. When we determined exactly what we wanted, Chris worked with us to ensure our couch was designed in a manner that would work within our environment, from both its design to its intended use (there had to be room for the pooch). We are thrilled about our purchase and even more excited to know that we have an advocate and partner in Chris for this and future furniture needs. If you are tired of getting the same spiel, and looking at the same mass-produced furniture available in every big box store, I strongly recommend giving Chris a call. Better yet- stop by (they have wine AND beer), and be blown away by their quality furniture and Chris' excellent sales assistance and approach.

Today was my second time shopping here, first for my home, today for my sister. Both times Chris was our salesperson . I am not a fan of the normal salesperson. I can be annoyed very easily. I want to shop at my own pace without anyone’s fake, uninformed opinion. I can be a j**** I admit. BUT I never felt this way with Chris. Both visits Chris was welcoming and friendly without feeling desperate for the sale or in my face. We showed him pics of the home and he had great suggestions without downgrading our own. I truly appreciate his suggestions as well as his product knowledge. I swear I am not related to Chris lol. I very much appreciate his approach as much as the quality of the furniture and that’s why I’ll continue to refer him business.

After spending a weekend searching all over Austin from 4Hands, Pottery Barn and some big brand stores "new to us", we happened upon this store - leather was exactly what we were searching for in the family room of our Texas home. I am so glad we went in! Chris was welcoming and genuine from the beginning and very knowledgeable and accommodating in what our needs were. My husband loves quality leather and I love a classic style and it can be found here at this store...actually any amazing leather product and style can be found with Chris! You can feel the quality difference! We both felt comfortable, knowing should any issues arise with our leather purchase, we could call Chris. Loving our purchase and it has done really well with big boys flopping on it!
