The hospital is run efficiently and professionally. I've been taking my cats and my dog to Central Texas Animal Hospital for over eight years and they have always received the best of care.
This week I have had my dog Lucy in to see Dr. Smallwood whose attentive care I very much appreciate. All the folks at Central Texas Animal Hospital go out of their way to provide whatever assistance you and your pet(s) need.

I reached out to Central Texas Animal Hospital when our regular vet could not fit my dog who was in pain into their schedule for over a week. It was easy to schedule an appointment, reception was friendly, and the doctor was knowledgeable. We are switching to this vet.

Central Texas Animal Hospital came through and helped my dog who was in a significant amount of pain and discomfort the staff were so nice, pleasant and accommodating after having several significant events in the past weekend I was happy to find a place that understands how to have empathy and compassion for others.
I’ve found the new vet for my dogs after leaving a competitor nearby who I’ve been with for years and wouldn’t accommodate my dog and wanted us to go to an affiliated urgent care later in the day.
Can’t speak highly enough about how great Central Texas Animal Hospital was when I needed them.

I rarely write reviews unless service really stands out to me, and this animal hospital is the best in Austin! We called desperately hoping to be seen after my cat fell, got her leg stuck, and ended up fracturing her back hind leg. The team fit us into their schedule within 15 minutes of me calling, which is outstanding. They performed my cat's right hind leg amputation, which was reasonably priced in terms of vet pricing. The incision looks fantastic and my cat has been healing very well. They answer all calls and emails in a timely manner which is refreshing, and you can tell they are there because they genuinely care about the animals they are caring for. This team is truly outstanding, couldn't recommend more!

So far so good. Took our puppy here for her shots. My old dog trainer Dave Kroyer has Dr. Smallwood as his vet; so she must be good. She was very nice and friendly.
I am not a very trusting person bc of past bad experiences; where you checkout with a car payment. Front desk people are nice and I like that once we checked in; we are not waiting forever like some places.
Came back 3 weeks later but Dr. Smallwood had emergency so we had to reschedule. They tried calling but my mailbox is full; prefer text.
So I scheduled with Dr. Neal? He was very nice as well as his vet tech. I liked that he respected how I felt about the lepto shot and explained it to me and was not pushy for me to give it to our puppy. After speaking with her breeder and my friends and hearing Dr. N explained how they improved the lepto vaccine; we will be getting it once we return for her last set of puppy shots.

Can’t recommend them enough! We are so so grateful for them! A few months ago, we had to let go of our golden retriever. We had an at home vet scheduled for euthanasia for a Tuesday, but that Sunday she really went downhill and we had to do it THAT day. Central Texas animal hospital took us in instantly, and were SO compassionate. Then today, unfortunately, we had an unexpected emergency with our chihuahua. She randomly couldn’t use her back legs, and was making terrible “I’m in pain” noises. With her in the car, I called 3 different vets explaining the situation, but they said they couldn’t help. As we were headed to the ER, we decided to pull into central Texas animal hospital since we were close. Once they heard emergency, they dropped everything and took us back. Everyone was beyond amazing. Although the outcome was unfortunately a bad one, the experience couldn’t have been any better for the situation. They will now become our primary vet.

I’ve been taking my pups here for years and they’ve always been so good to us. We moved to Georgetown and tried to find a new vet closer but no one else compares! Their staff, their doctors, everyone is so nice, caring, and knowledgeable. Thank you guys for being our go to vet for almost 10 years!
