I’m giving three stars because I admit, I should have done better due diligence. Off the bat they had already lost or deleted my appointment even though I called and received a confirmation email. As well, they seemed confused by the fact I was applying for an ITIN number, anything that isn’t w2 and a 1040 seems to be outside their expertise. I specifically called asking if they had CAA ( H&R Block website says they do process ITIN applications but not all locations), front desk person told yes and booked me an appointment, I get there and the person I meet tells me he is not a CAA, then proceeds to show me a list of CAAs provided by the IRS but only looks at the first H&R Block that appears which is in Arlington TX ( the list organized by cities in alphabetical order) then proceeds to suggest I go there and writes down the address. I repeat I should have done my due diligence at the same time I did call to check if the East broadway location had a CAA and was told yes, appointment lost/deleted, talking about my information in the lobby, seemed confused about anything outside of a simple 1040, and not familiar with the fact that I can’t mail my w-7 form without a tax return attached. I don’t fault them it is peak tax season, brain runs in auto pilot, and the majority of tax returns are simple 1040’s. Just wish they had provided more help than just telling me that I had to mail it myself.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Had the most awful experience here for the tax season of 2023.My paperwork got passed around the tax specialists to the point no one knew where my returns were.The manager was barely apologetic even asked me, “what do you want me to do?” I don’t know— how about not misplace a clients paperwork?It wasn’t like I turned it in the day of the tax day. Granted, it was 2 weeks til deadline day, but that should’ve been plenty of time for them to either tell me to go somewhere else or file my taxes.They had plenty of chances to tell me to go elsewhere. I emailed the original tax specialist who claimed that my email went to her spam box so she never got it.I stopped by the office a week til deadline to check and said that they’ll assign it to another specialist. Checked in in person day before deadline to learn that they did not know where my file was. It was in the drawer becauseLack of communication and very unprofessional.I had to file for an extension due to their incompetence.Then when they finally did assign a tax specialist— the manager had the gall to call me and plead with me to not be mean to her as she’s not even part of the branch and doing her a favor. If you’re that concerned and think so little of your clients, then do your job right.The tax specialist ended up helping with my taxes — but she couldn’t let go about talking about my son, who was with me, when the tax forms were being prepared. My son is on the autism spectrum and she claimed that she was a SpEd teacher before retirement. But she kept saying uneducated things about my son, but I just wanted to get out of there with my taxes submitted and just let her talk. None of my tax preparations led to how she was prying into our lives.When we were finally done, she looked at my son and said “don’t worry, he’ll grow out of his autism.”Yea lady, that’s not how any of this works.Anyway, awful experience.I did speak to the regional manager and she helped a lot. And she paid for the late fee— and sent payment directly to me so that I wouldn’t have to step foot into that office ever again.I hope the rest of you have a better experience than me.

Got there at like 5:30 walked in todo my taxes with very little time left and even though they were fully booked I have to give a special shout out to Mary Tomlinson who was fixing to leave work decided to help me with my taxes. Not only was she super sweet and informative she was quick. And got me the biggest return I’ve ever seen. They don’t pay u enough Mary! I’ll see u next year
