I was a mechanic with Generals Motors for many years and due to a back injury I'm not able to work on my vehicle. I was having an issue with my vehicle (General Motors truck) and I already knew what the issue was (thermostat) but I understand that each mechanic must preform their own diagnostics. When I spoke to the owner over the phone I was quoted $150. I also understand that amount is just a quote and subject to change. But I am in a pinch because I can't drive the truck far and this place seemed nice. Everything started off friendly. But they changed and I'll explain. So I received a call saying it's the thermostat like I suggested but there's a hose that blew off. Now mind you. I'm a mechanic and I checked out my vehicle before taking it there and his claims wasn't lining up but I do understand that when your changing these parts out due to the extreme heat and plastic parts under the hood they break when you start to remove things. I tried to reason with him but he insisted with his story of a blowed off hose and no coolant. Again I checked under my hood for any leaks as well as my drive way and there was none. I also topped of the coolant. All of this was told to Daniels Auto but I guess they forgot we had this conversation. So from here on I take the blame because I should've just picked up my truck but I'm trying to be nice and understanding that those things happen and I'll just take care of the price. Now the new total that was given to me over the phone was even more once I arrived. I was told the hoses where around $100 each. I paid $270 for one hose and $176 for the other. Even at this time I wasn't that upset because again I'm a mechanic and I guess I have an understanding heart. I left everything alone and just wanted to pay for my repairs and be on my way. He wanted to retrieve the hose to show me it was broken and I told him I understand that they break when you have to remove them (YouTube 2013 traverse thermostat replacement and you'll see). I told him that I understand these vehicles because I've worked on them and he started to discredit my understanding and knowledge of general motor vehicle (not knowing I had worked every repair department in GM). I told him I just wanted to find a trusted mechanic because I can't physically do the work and I need other things done. I actually was down 2 vehicles and had to rent a car. I wanted to take my other vehicle to him but I didn't due to dishonesty. I just to it to the dealer. Here's the last part and it was a kicker. This happened as I finished paying. He told me that the whole housing for the thermostat was over $200. Mind you that I have already done all of my research before hand (calling dealerships for price, as well as auto part stores, my own diagnosis) and the highest price that the dealer told me was $120. I told him that and he refuted. I got my receipt and glanced at it and it just said thermostat $29. So I asked did he change the housing and he said yes but when I redirected him to the receipt and only being charged $29 for just the thermostat and not house he said oh no I didn't. It would've been more. Smh lol. He started saying I had leaks all over my engine but he cleaned it up and all of this other stuff. I just left because like I said earlier I check all of that and gave him that information. Also those who aren't even mechanically inclined knows how coolant smells especially if it's leaking is splashing all over the motor. AVOID AT ALL COST OR TAKE THE RISK. I'm just sharing my experience. P.S. for all of that "work" he did I was only charged $69 labor but over $600 in parts??? Just doesn't add up and it was an bootleg invoice the front desk person made up in front of me.

One of the most honest and efficient mechanics in town. Many years of experience. My car had the maintenance light on. The mechanic found out the problem and fixed within an hour! The waiting area was comfortable with TV and AC. The staff was very friendly. I will be coming back. 5 STARS
