This gym has truly been a blessing, always clean and never packed to the point where you’re waiting on machines or weights. The key fob mechanism is awesome, One can work out any time you feel up to it….I’ve enjoyed and will continue to enjoy it for as long as I’m in West Tx.Thank YouMike Handy

Awesome gym. Great staff. Even when I had an issue, it was very easily resolved with a quick phone call, by very friendly staff. They got everything you need for anyone serious in the bodybuilding or powerlifting scene and its dirt cheap for good the facility is.

When I started going here I always appreciated the family owned vibe and small crowds but talk about an absolute nosedive in professionalism in recent months. Their treadmills have been broken for almost a year and they absolutely refuse to do anything about it. Their only response is “well we called the guy.” Either they need new treadmills or they need a new guy. One of the workers got a new dog recently and lets it run all over the gym and I nearly dropped a heavy dumbbell on myself when it blew past me. Whoever works at the daycare is also a disgrace because kids freely run around the gym and that’s a serious danger for them and people working out. It’s a shame because they started out so great then they collectively threw in the towel as an organization and it’s so transparent it’s clear they don’t care anymore. I’ve already cancelled my membership and will be taking business elsewhere.

Owners don't care about members, staff, community, or morals. Gym has been in disrepair for a multitude of months and is borderline ripping off members with pricing and training. Owners do not care about business standards as it exists for its social leverage. The carpet in the daycare isn't even glued down.Planet fitness is better for the community than this place, and that says a lot.

From a washed up athletes perspective this place is golden! Great environment and great staff who are there to answer questions and serve the Payne community. I feel like the negative reviews below are fabricated. Sauna is on constantly and is very very hot. Bathrooms are cleaned daily, you might run into a dirty sink after hours but isn't that normal? Every machine and rack are cleaned constantly due to patrons cleaning their sweat from the machines as well as staff cleaning. They have more than enough machines to never get stuck waiting on someone who is finishing. With 4 stairclimbers, 2 free squat racks, 2 smith machines, leg press, and more; this is a dream leg day spot. They also have an entire room dedicated to bench and incline. I can not speak from another persons perspective but I think that it's safe to say that from what I've witnessed, no one condones violence in this gym. Unless it's on some heavy weight!!!!!

i liked how it wasn’t super packed, had a great selection of equipment & the staff was super sweet. the only thing i would say would be better is if they had a fan or some type of cool air in restroom because it was a little hot due to sauna but it wasn’t unbearable or anything. Also it is very clean, observed staff cleaning the entire time i was there. Def recommend ?

I feel like it’s irresponsible to take away disinfectant wipes and replace them with spray and rags especially when monkeypox is breaking out. Guess I have to bring my own clorox wipes from now on… hope the spread of disease is worth the few bucks y’all saved…

Paynes gym used to be an incredible place to get a workout in, over the last year it has been steadily declining. The gym itself is extremely dirty!!! Under every weight rack or machine is a cloud of dust that hasn't been swept, mopped, vacuumed in who knows how long. Not to mention the bathrooms, gross & Sauna is never turned on! It's also not a friendly environment to be in, members that are friends with the managers walk around like they own the gym. I've heard them trash talking other members, workers, owners etc. powerlifters are loud, obnoxious and make us feel so uncomfortable. The manager they have now is extremely unfriendly & unprofessional. The owners of the gym used to be involved & it seems as if they aren't anymore and why the gym is doing terrible. Its sad to see an establishment that once was so successful, turn upside down by not enforcing cleanliness and allowing the disrespect of members. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone I know. I am also posting this from a friends account because I'm worried if the manager finds out who I am her and her gym friends will pick on me at the gym once my contract expires I'll be leaving and never returning.

DO NOT SIGN UP HERE! There is zero professionalism in the staff at this gym. Not welcoming and definitely not pleasant to deal with at all. Not to mention how overpriced they are. After “canceling”my membership I was told I would never get billed again from them. A month later I was notified that I had a balance due of $70.Because of their lack of training I am responsible. Any other gym would’ve been willing to understand the situation and be willing to compromise. No compromise and no understanding at all at this gym.As far as the gym itself… it’s below par at best. After going to this gym for a month I went to another gym. I wouldn’t waist your money or time going to this gym.
