“I just can't say enough good things about Gilbert - his skill, his knowledge and his integrity are all absolutely first rate.
I'm a hands-on kind of person, but because I'm a woman, I often have to deal with mechanics trying to talk down to me, dismiss my information, or sell me services I don't need (ladies, you know what I'm talking about!)
Gilbert is the opposite of that. First, he really, really understands cars, and Subarus in particular (better than any mechanic I have ever had). He is honest, explains things really well. He often let me join him in the garage to show me what he was doing and explain why. When I had super weird things going on, he would brianstorm with me to figure it out. He always went the extra mile to find a solution, and when my car got to the end of its life, he was honest about that too.
If you have a Subaru, see Gilbert. He is simply the best.”

“Late post from Tuesday but I was really impressed how fast they got me in and out. I went for a change of spark plugs I have an 06' impala and it's a pain but they knocked it out. I know a little bit about mechanical work but with these plugs I couldn't get to. We recently moved from austin and have been in dale for about a yr, and we also have our mechanic but hes been leaving me dry so saw straight automotive on my maps and read reviews so i called for a quote and was surprised. So I booked the appt. Their customer service is A1 very well mannered, and pricing is reasonable. I definitely recommend their service. ?”

Called John and he was so accommodating around my schedule and getting me in. When I took my car in, the entire experience was amazing! He fixed my seatbelt in what felt like the snap of his fingers, and when he came back to give me an update in his office he was so open and upfront about other things he would be able to fix for me. I have quite a few other things needed done on my car and will 100% be taking it over to see him asap! I won’t be going to any other mechanic as long as he’s available! ? Overall very kind, inexpensive, very efficient, and a wonderful person/place to have working on your vehicle with whatever you may need. ??”
“Where do I even start?! What started as an absolute craze on my end turned to a trusting and peaceful experience. I pulled into a LONG driveway to what looks like somebody's rundown home - only to an open gaze of beautiful imports and my dream cars sitting in a yard and a shop full of friendly faces hard at work on some true racing machines. I was recommended to come to Smiley by a friend (and through others once confirmed) who had their entire car built by them a few years ago. Originally, I came to them in a panic after endless months of part-sourcing (truly blood, sweat, and tears), and they accepted me and my half-torn apart Japanese import (Toyota Chaser) with open arms and rescuing. IT was truly a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. For example.. what I thought I needed; steering rack, wheel bearing, and some body work (lights, bumper, etc.) (at least) What they were able to find and fix with perfection in an acute amount of time; rear toe arms, lower ball joint, radiator, and steering rack. They sourced all the parts and even asked me for approval on brands, provided expert recommendations and what not (for a car that is NOT easy to source parts for... I'm talking 6 weeks minimum typically for shipping), and all to a quick avail and success! The labor is not the cheapest you'll find if you're looking for something simple, but regardless - it's worth EVERY. SINGLE. DIME. and all invoices were even glanced over and approved by my most renowned professional driver friend. Furthermore, I've been provided nothing but consistent communication, updates, photos, and just good ol' check-ins regarding the parts needed, pricing, etc. . As someone who is very skeptical of most people and shops regarding my vehicles, I am genuinely stoked on finding this shop and all the lovely people who run it. This has become my go-to shop from now on and I wouldn't trust or want it any other way. Thank you so much for getting me back on the road, safely in style!”
