I would like to write a letter of appreciation to the director and staff of the Denim and Diamonds Pre-School and Daycare in New Waverly. In my experience as a parent I have been extremely grateful to share my son with Mrs. Joye and her teachers. They have continuously supported my family with love and warmth. Over the past few years, through COVid nightmare... and still, with all of the challenges that we face every day. I have always found comfort in knowing that they were going to help me shape my son as he grows. Because of the way they work with him, my son's oral language development is outstanding and he is a thoughtful, vibrant, little boy. He communicates extremely well and he expresses often that he "loves his teachers". As the new year begins, I can't help but thank the staff for showing my son that it does indeed "take a big heart to shape little minds". I often remind him to thank Ms. Joye and his teachers when we leave. And he doesn't hesitate in saying, "Thank you for taking care of me". I wanted to take this moment to do the same. Thank you Ms. Joye and to all the ladies. Thank you for putting your best foot forward everyday...to help me, raise my son and for teaching him, and taking care of him each time you could. Warmest Heart, Tyra and Jacob

This is by far the best option for childcare in the area. The staff are knowledgeable, caring, helpfull, and insightful with the children. The director is top notch with years of experience and truly cares about each child and their wellbeing. The facility is well kept and up to date and exceeds all standards with cleanliness being an obvious priority. There is a great family atmosphere with denim and Diamonds that can't be matched. I have no hesitation leaving kids in their capable hands.

Started using this facility in September of 2021 due to moving back to New Waverly. I knew the director Mrs. Joye going into using them but was still skeptical due to always worrying about my daughter (14 months old) and it being a new daycare. I have absolutely loved having my daughter there. At one point she started having problems with diaper rash and they were so quick to adjust to her needs so that the issue went away. We were also in the weaning process when she began there and they were so happy to continually adjust with me to smoothly get her completely to cows milk. There have been a rare few days where I am running a little behind to get her and the staff has always greeted me so friendly and sweet even though my tardiness caused them to stay at work a little later. I get photos of her every day on Brightwheels, as well as get to see real time updates on what's going on in her day. It provides me with peace of mind, which is huge for me. She is always so excited to go to school and reaches for her teachers when I go to drop her off. They also feed her dinner around 5 which is something her old daycare didn't do, which makes her so much more pleasant when I get her in the evenings because I don't have to rush to feed a hungry baby. They have her on a great nap schedule and let her take additional naps if she needs it that day. I really feel like they genuinely care about me and my daughter and like for me to call if she isn't going to be there just so they know we are okay. Thank you Mrs. Joye and all of your amazing staff for creating a place in our small town where it's children are loved, safe, and taken care of. You have saved me so much time and worrying that could have been sacrificed from choosing another facility! If you have little ones and are skeptical at all about using this small business, have no fear, I promise you and your kids will be like family to them!

We had our two sons (infant and 2 yr old) stay at this New Waverly Denim & Diamonds location until we could get a spot at the Huntsville location. We went there from beginning of January to the end of March. I feel we really got to know the owner, Mrs. Joye, and her wonderful staff in that somewhat short amount of time. Our boys got accustomed to the daycare within 2-3 weeks. After that, they really grew close with their teachers. It was always a pleasure to come pick the boys up and find them just full of smiles and playing. We knew they were doing well just based on that. Our boys did go through some sicknesses, of course, but the daycare staff was always patient and understanding. We had to pick them up from work maybe 2 or 3 times max, which is nothing compared to an at-home day care we used prior. They were very good about working with us in using medicines and would not give anything unless we signed in medicines the day of.For infants, they will always give you an activity list which will detail what your child ate, when they peed or pooped, etc. This is really useful to keep track of your child since you can't be there to watch them all day.One extra little bonus is they provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We didn't realize what a blessing this was until a few weeks in. We were so used to packing all the food before, but doing away with this left us so much more time and pacing in the mornings.Best of all, we felt our children were learning new things all the time here. Our 2 year old in particular was using words/sentences we had never heard before. He was also getting a better grasp on shapes, colors, and numbers -- something we had been working on with him for a while. All of this is transferring well to the new location in Huntsville. We feel our boys are doing well there too. We definitely miss the awesome ladies in New Waverly, but is better for us to be in Huntsville since we live and work here.

My son stayed with Miss joy from the ages of 3 - 5 years old,we knew our son was hyperactive but was unable to treat him with medicine until he was 6. he had problems with other daycares but miss joy was able to handle him . Miss joy and her staff where a godsend until he attended public school. Denim and diamonds is a daycare and not a private school for education. any reasonable expectation for an excessive education is not reasonable this, is a daycare. her staff was loving and caring for my child. They got him through the daycare years until he entered into the public school system. The three years that Miss Joy kept my son he was loved and care for with patients and acceptance. I recommend Miss joy daycare to any one.

After reading the previous review, I was compelled to write one of my own.I have been taking my children to Ms. Joye and her wonderful staff-yes wonderful-.for almost three years. I have observed the school enough to know that all of the comments posted were completely unfounded.I can tell by reading the whole thing that it was written by one of her competitors, not a parent. They are a classy set of people that truly care for my babies. They have flourished in their care and come home happy everyday. I am thankful for that because I have no option to stay home with them myself. I thank them.....(shame on you-shows your character doesnt it???)

First and foremost, if your child attended the school how would you have witnessed a rundown of a teachers daily schedule? Last time I checked you have to have clearance to be inside a daycare for an extended period of time and that right belongs only to employees!! If children were left in high chairs for 4 hour increments twice a day then there would be signs of physical abuse and the children would definetly not be egar to attend the center on a daily basis and that is something a parent would address immediately! And if you really and truely are a parent, then you might want to try enrollment in a private academy because day cares are only required to follow their daily schedule and are not require to "teach" your children. Teaching from any establishment other than a private academy is a bonus at that facilities discretion. And after reviewing your paragraph, I understand completely why children in your care haven't learned anything! I am positive it is in your handbook and posted inside the center that if you see any neglectful situation you are required to report it, so allowing these things to continue for months and then reporting them makes you liable of charges for not reporting the incidents that you sat back and watched occur. Becareful what you say and make sure you know your laws!
